It always sucks when a game like Alan Wake 2 will never see the light of day. Pun intended. What sucks more is when you get to see what the game could have been via gameplay demo and proof of concept work. That is what we have here to spread the hurt from Remedy moving on to do Quantum Break over Alan Wake 2 for their next huge title. The prior looks amazing and don't get me wrong, I still want it, but after seeing what the team was doing for Alan Wake 2 it is quite upsetting that we may have to be left waiting for a long time to see anything you are about to see hit our Xbox One or Xbox 360.
Submitted for your viewing below is a prototype demo for Alan Wake 2 that shows off what the dev team had for the game before they moved on to other things. It really looks like Remedy was taking great care of Alan Wake 2 by adding in some really cool environmental interactivity, enemies that felt more fluid than ever, and the new mechanic to rewrite reality as the titular character needed to so he could survive the night and save everyone he cares for. In fact that is one of the bigger aspects shown in this Alan Wake 2 demo that wasn't planned for public viewing.
Enough words. Let's get right into seeing what Alan Wake 2 could have been if they had the manpower and funds to work on multiple titles and bring us everything we want.
Alan Wake 2 — 13 Minutes Of Gameplay
Crazy stuff right? Alan Wake 2 looks like it would have been an amazing addition to the franchise and I still have hope that it will. We may never get to see these actions and events again but tell us what you think of what you just saw for Alan Wake 2. Don't you want to have that great face off with Mr. Scratch or to be sucked up into a UFO and not have it be a joke? Let us know your thoughts and change the reality of this virtual world down in the comments.
