The Road Warrior Said It, So It Must Be True
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of March 2008 - 09:31 PM ]
George Miller, Cory Barlog Working On Mad Max Game Maybe it is just me, but I think this is awesome. Mad Max the game. I mean come on. If you haven't seen the film, I recommend picking it up for at least a rent. NetFlix == Friend. For those who do know what I am talking about, here's the skinny. Writer/Director/Producer George Miller has gotten balls deep in Video Games. And he thought, "Hey there is some stuff I could do with digital media that I couldn't with film. Read More...

Another Bad Boy In Politics
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2008 - 05:45 PM ]
The tables have been turned on Rockwall County District Attorney Ray Sumrow, who, rather than prosecuting others, now himself stands accused of misappropriating funds to buy a souped-up gaming PC for his office. As reported by Kotaku: Prosecutors say the computer, which was loaded with eBay sales, personal emails and a cheat sheet for a computer game, is equipped with two hard drives, seven fans, high-end video and audio cards, a wireless Internet connection and cables that glow under ultraviolet light. A Great Day In Video Game Land
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Monday, 10th of March 2008 - 07:44 PM ]
My favorite site besides PWNED.com has a awesome story about the New York Gov. Eliott Spitzer (D) was apparently known as Client 9 to an upscale prostitution ring.  Spitzer was opposed to violent video games like Hitman: Codename 47.  The irony and hypocrisy of this man let alone that he is a politician.   Source - During the 2006 campaign Spitzer called out the video game industry for excessive violence and, ironically, sexual content in its products: Like all parents, I know it is increasingly difficult to protect our children from negative influences… we have learned that when self-regulation fails, government must step in… we must do more to protect our children from excessive sex and violence in the media… Media content has gotten more graphic, more violent and more sex-based… Currently, nothing under New York State law prohibits a fourteen-year old from walking into a video store and buying… a game like ‘Grand Theft Auto,’ which rewards a player for stealing cars and beating people up. THQ Has Spirit, How About You?
by Trina [ Thursday, 6th of March 2008 - 05:57 PM ]
THQ announces All Star Cheer Squad for the Wii and DS Okay get ready to roast me, but I am completely intrigued by THQ's announcement of All Star Cheer Squad for the Wii and DS. As a former cheerleader, I can't help but giggle as I imagine people cheering with Wii-mote in hand in the their living room. Players will enter into the world of competitive cheer leading as seen in Bring it on. "With the explosive growth of the girls gaming market in recent years due to the continued success of Wii and DS, our ongoing goal is to stay at the cutting edge of that success by bringing a brand new property for this segment to these popular systems," said Jim Huntley, director of global brand management, THQ. TramaPWN = Who Is With Me!
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Tuesday, 4th of March 2008 - 10:57 PM ]
Can you really trademark the term Pwned or Pwn As we all know, PWN or PWNED is a slang term (which belongs to gaming the community) that implies domination or humiliation of a rival, used primarily in the Internet gaming culture to taunt an opponent that has just been soundly defeated. Past tense is sometimes spelled pwnt (pronounced with a t sound) or pwned (with the standard d sound). Examples include "distributing the pwnage" or "you just got pwned". It can also be used, especially by non-gamers, in the context of getting "pwned" by The Man. Read More...

The Day The Dragon Died :(
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of March 2008 - 08:55 PM ]
Dungeons & Dragons Creator Gary Gygax Dead, 3/4/2008 A sad day indeed. Gary Gygax died today in his home from natural causes at the age of 69. For those who don't know or didn't read the title bar, he was the creator for Dungeons and Dragons. This news was posted by his son, Ernie Gygax, through the Troll Lord Games forum boards and the news has hit many other websites about his demise. But even though he is gone, his legacy will hopefully live on like Achilles. Before anyone starts to say, how does this relate to video games, his work is what was used to inspire so many of the games you enjoy today. Read More...
