Two More Characters Announced For Injustice: Gods Among Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 23rd of July 2012 - 10:07 PM ]
So not only is there a new game play trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but there are also two new characters announced for the game. Nightwing and Cyborg are those characters just to get the ball started here. Here's another set of characters that will be interesting to see in the game but not as unexpected as Solomon Grundy as mentioned in a previous article. Cool none the less. What I do find a bit more fun in the game play below is the showcasing of what looks like "fatality" style moves being performed. Read More...

The Villain Of Black Ops II Is A YouTube Celebrity
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of July 2012 - 05:32 PM ]
When first mentioned after announcement, the villain of Black Ops II was stated to be a "hacker" type who takes over a whole bunch of military tech. In the more recent video it looks like the people of the world are also a little bit to blame. Sitting happy and ingesting all of his propaganda as we do viral YouTube videos. I mean hells, with over 55 million people subbing this guy and over half a billion views, how could we all not be to blame? Right? Read More...

Review: Jeremy McGrath's Offroad
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 19th of July 2012 - 10:10 PM ]
Jeremy McGrath's Offroad, developed by 2XL Games and published by Reverb (PS3) and D3publisher (360), plays like you would expect any offroad, rally or ATV game to play. It's smooth, it has some air control and it has competitive AI. That is where this game really ends with its current competition. Jeremy McGrath's Offroad has various unlocks as is expected in this day and age, like new vehicles and performance upgrades, however I couldn't find much reason to go after them. No motivation to keep playing despite this. Now don't get me wrong, the game is superbly crafted, no bugs at all as far as I could tell, beautiful graphics for an arcade title, the AI is smart and the controls top notch. Read More...

Deadpool Is Finally Getting His Own Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of July 2012 - 05:13 PM ]
He's been featured in a few games and has mostly been used for cameos, but now the 'merc with a mouth' is finally getting his own shot at video game stardom. That's right, Deadpool has been officially announced and the game is coming. Don't fully believe it yet? Then go ahead and check out the announcement trailer that snuck in at the San Diego Comic Con last week. Hopefully that will prove more to you. Don't be too surprised with the lack of any real substance being shown here though. Read More...

Review: The Amazing Spider-Man
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of July 2012 - 11:12 PM ]
It's summer block buster time again in the film industry which means it's also the time we see the video games that coincide with said block busters hitting the shelves. While Marvel missed out on a proper Avengers title, Beenox and Activision made sure that they didn't miss out on a new Spider-Man title. The pair have already churned out the last couple of rather decent titles for the franchise so why not one for the film. Let's see how their faired in a genre that is usually know for making slop that just milks the films for more money. Read More...

Review: Ship Simulator Extremes
by Fred Buell [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 11:15 PM ]
I started playing Ship Simulator Extremes with an open mind. Partly because I wasn't sure if this was going the pure Sim route with me only free riding a boat or the MS Flight route with a campaign and missions you can take. It took the latter with a campaign and various scenarios you can choose from the menu, alas the game is looking up, I think. I was wrong. So wrong. Read More...

Want To See What I Saw Of Dishonored At E3?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 29th of June 2012 - 05:15 PM ]
So a few weeks ago I gave you my impressions of Dishonored from E3. I also spoke a little bit about it on the big Aggrocast Reunion. But I know for some of you out there words don't paint as pretty a picture as actually seeing the video. Lucky for you, Bethesda just cut a version of their demo for the show for you. I won't bore you more than need be here. If you want to read more on my impressions you can click the link above for that. Read More...

Indie Game Of The Month: A Valley Without Wind
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 28th of June 2012 - 06:33 PM ]
For all those lovers of classic action games or side scrolling RPGs; look no further than A Valley Without Wind. When I spoke with the developers from Arcen Games at PAX East last April, they had said they loved the old 2D actioners like Super Metroid, Castlevania and so on. They said the one thing they hate about those games is 'they end.' A Valley Without Wind plays just like the aforementioned games with a hint of MMO and one huge difference. It doesn’t end and the maps a randomly generated. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Call Of Duty: Black Ops II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of June 2012 - 05:01 PM ]
It is still no big surprise that Black Ops II was one of the bigger titles being shown at E3 this year. Even with all the gripes I hear about "another Call Of Duty game?" it still had lines snaking and wrapping the Activision booth. So that to me shows that both A), y'all like to bitch just to bitch and B) the fans obviously still want the franchise to continue on. Either way, here's a bit of what you all might have missed out on from the trailers. Before I go into some of the new stuff, it looks to play like *gasp* a CoD game. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Star Trek
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2012 - 11:11 PM ]
Last year we got to see a very behind closed doors presentation of the new Star Trek game. So closed doors I had to wait until an embargo lifted after E3 2011 to talk about it. This year was quite the opposite. In fact while I was leaving my appointment from seeing Borderlands 2 I took a wrong turn on the show floor and ended up walking down a corridor from the Enterprise leading into a transporter room where myself and a plethora of other fans were whisked away to see the presentation. Below you can see some of the side by side video from the presentation, but let me fill you in on what you don't get to see. First to clear up confusion on the below video, each side is done in the point of view of which ever character you would choose from the beginning. Read More...

E3 2012 Hands On: Borderlands 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2012 - 08:20 PM ]
Borderlands 2 has probably got to be one of the biggest sequels coming to market this year and yours truly here got a nice 30 minute hands on with the game. Not only that, but I got hands on with the Assassin class that has yet to be playable until E3. Well at least to the general public that is. So let me break down what I got to play and give you a bit of detail into a few things Borderlands 2. Before anyone asks, they didn't really go into detail on the character creation/progression in the game and I didn't have time to dig into the three trees of the Zer0. But as you can assume they all mostly revolved around things that would make you a better, sneaky killer. Read More...

E3 2012 Hands On: Dishonored
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of June 2012 - 10:59 PM ]
Here we go with another big title that everyone and their mother were talking about leading up to E3. For me on the other hand, Dishonored had a bit of "been there played that" vibe from all of the trailers, screens and info given out. But it wasn't until the E3 demo and hands on that really set my thoughts about the game. Let me break it down for what I saw and found out. First off, it is completely worth noting that during the demo it was let loose that the some visual minds behind BioShock, Half Life 2 and some mechanical minds behind Deus Ex are working on this title from inception. E3 2012 Impressions: Hitman: Absolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of June 2012 - 07:57 PM ]
Talk about a title I wish I would have had a chance to get some real hands on with at E3. Hitman: Absolution ranks right up there with Tomb Raider in level of excitement for Square Enix titles coming out. While it was on the show floor, there was not enough time in the day to play it but I did get to sit through a pretty cool demo that was geared towards showing some of the cool stuff we will get to have Agent 47 do. First and foremost I have to mention the visuals of the game. As to be expected given the six year gap between Blood Money and Absolution they have gone leaps and bounds over what we've seen in any of the previous games. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of June 2012 - 01:51 AM ]
Here we go for round two of the major showing of the Tomb Raider reboot and still nothing playable at E3 2012. While there was nothing playable on the show floor, there was a nice little demonstration behind the scenes that was all game play. The only caveat was that we were only allowed to sit and watch. Even with that being the case, I do have to say I was blown away with what I saw even though some of the game play mechanics seemed a bit off in terms of making sense in the world. If you've seen the cross roads trailer (see below) then you also got to see a bit of what we press did backstage. Read More...
