Breath, Two, Wii, Four
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of July 2009 - 09:06 PM ]
CPR to be taught via Nintendo Wii game It has been spread all over the net and news that the Nintendo Wii has been used by surgeons to hone their hand-eye coordination. Forcing the precise moves on screen for game makes them practice and perfect the minute movements that they are required to do on a day to day basis. Something I'm sure we all are glad that they do. Who wants to have long, jagged cuts that looks like you went to a butcher's shop from the 1840's? Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 3rd of July 2009 - 11:37 PM ]
Well here something neat. The Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting that Six Flags theme park is working on expanding it's partnership with Nintendo and its going to feature Wii Sports Resort at it's theme parks. Wii Sports Resort is the anticipated sports simulation game from Nintendo which will have more addictive games like archery, ping-pong, and fencing (Star Wars anyone?). Wii Sports Resort also utilizes the new Wii motion plus attachment which improves motion control accuracy. Read More...

Shoot Dice With Your WiiMote On The Vegas Strip
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of June 2009 - 06:19 PM ]
Las Vegas Casino Party Announced Just incase Mario Party was not good enough for the family, or the family wants to get their kids hooked on gambling, buffets, and hookers early, a new party game for the Wii has been announced today. One that strikes home with me oh so well. Pun intended. Las Vegas Casino Party is that game. From the description of the game, it sounds just like the above mentioned Mario Party titles. You get ten stereotypes of Las Vegas gamblers to move around a game board, for some reason, to move from casinos to casino playing the classic games of old Vegas. Read More...

Revenge Is A Powerful Force
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 22nd of June 2009 - 06:17 PM ]
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Launch Trailer Just in case all of us gamer geeks out here have forgotten, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes out this week. In both theatrical release and video game release. All for the makes of us to cream our shorts with 1980'S nostalgia in a darker 21st way. Not to mention to profit off said nostalgia and fathers and older brothers forcing said nostalgia on their younger children or siblings. It's a good old American pastime. Read More...

E3 Impressions: Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 12th of June 2009 - 10:16 AM ]
As much as one can be in awe of the Final Fantasy XIII and XIV trailers on the giant screen at Square Enix’s booth at E3, I kept walking around to find something else.  The classic jRPG fan in me jumped for joy at the sight of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.  Already out on Wii Ware, picking up and playing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was like running into a warm hug of an old friend. This sequel, 18 years in the making, tells the story of you, the son of the paladin Cecil and the white mage Rosa, years after the end of Final Fantasy IV.  The great evil of the second moon destroyed by Cecil and Rosa’s party in the original has returned and it is now up to you to stop this evil and return peace to the once quiet planet. E3 Impressions: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 8th of June 2009 - 09:34 PM ]
A new Mario game was anticipated by the crowd as we all filed into the Nintendo E3 Media Briefing last Tuesday.  Many, including myself, were looking for a new Super Mario Galaxy, which we did receive.  That was not until much later in the show.  Well before that announcement was the announcement of the New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  More of a party game than a solo adventure, though it could be played that way, New Super Mario Bros. Read More...

E3 Hands-On Impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 6th of June 2009 - 09:25 AM ]
Cooks, mathematicians and sports teams all employ a powerful weapon to achieve success in their chosen fields: formulas.  Much will be said from E3 2009 and beyond until well after the launch of the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.  A lot of it will probably not be flattering.  Nintendo has found a graphical and stylistic formula on the Nintendo DS that is both successful and fun.At Nintendo’s booth this year at E3, I was able to avoid the long wait times associated with playing an anticipated title like The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and go hands-on for the entire demo.  The demo was split into 3 parts: Dungeon, Boss and Train. E3 Hands On Impressions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 06:27 PM ]
I finally got my hands on Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Nintendo Wii. It was developed by Vanilla Ware, the studio that did Odin Sphere on the PS2, and localized by Ignition Software. The game is beautifully animated and the amount of detail really shines, which showcases the amount of work that went into it. Presented in a 2D side scrolling format, the backgrounds and characters pop out at you. You have two playable characters, Kisuke (male) and Momohime (female), with whom you control using the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Read More...

E3 Hands On Impressions - DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 08:06 AM ]
DC Universe Online Hands On We've seen the screen shots. We've seen the video clips. But at E3, there was the chance to actually get some hands on with the game and take it for a pre-beta joy ride. I also got to sit down with one of the designers for the game to get a little more on the game that has yet to be released through their MySpace account or any official press releases. I will say that I wish I could have played around with the character creation tool a bit, but they did have some of the network play up and going. Well network play as in between PS3 and PC and not over the PSN. Read More...

E3 Impressions of APB (All Points Bulletin)
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of June 2009 - 09:09 PM ]
APB, which stands for All Points Bulletin, is the upcoming Persistent Online Game from developer Realtime Worlds. It is a game in which players enter cities as one of two sides, an enforcer or a criminal. With up to 100 people per city, the two sides, as well as various gangs, are in a constant conflict. APB strives to make the gameplay more player driven, than game driven as with most Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games. They like to consider it as a Dynamic Action Based game, not an MMO or a Role-Playing Game (RPG). Read More...

Aggrogamer E3 Recap for June 2nd
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of June 2009 - 03:58 PM ]
So day 2 has come and gone for E3 and it was a day ranging from dull to exciting. We saw what Nintendo had to offer, as well as Sony, and finally got to hit the showroom floor to start looking at all the titles. First we all had the chance to attend the Nintendo press conference and they showed off mostly what we've come to expect, which is plenty of casual games aimed towards a broader audience. Which is exactly why the slogan this year was "Everybody's Game". With titles like Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Style Savvy, and James Patterson's Women's Murder Club: Games Of Passion, it is easy to see that they are truly trying to reach every demographic. Mini Ninjas at E3
by Corey Dockendorf [ Saturday, 30th of May 2009 - 12:21 AM ]
To say that I am excited about Eidos' new game Mini Ninjas is an understatement. I think I'm going to get some smoke bombs and adorn my office in samurai swords and kendo armor. One of the games that Eidos' will be debuting as a playable version at E3 is this little gem. Mini Ninjas is the story of a tiny ninja, named Hiro, and his big adventure against an evil warlord, and his quest to save the animals that have been changed into evil samurai, bringing harmony back to the world. From the screen shots it looks like you will be able to navigate through three different characters as well as take control of different animals. There are a few trailers with some game play as well as story and characters on the website. Read More...

Ghostly Multiplayer Madness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 11:04 PM ]
Ghostbusters Game Trailer It makes total sense for this game to have a multiplayer aspect to it. Albeit, limited to four people multiplayer, but multiplayer none the less. What fun would it be if you could only have one of the Busters active by a player at a time? Especially with the others possibly being run by an AI that could be poor. Don't need another Sheva incident, if you know what I mean. The below video shows off all the fun madness of the multiplayer, as well as some of the new weapons and enemies for the Ghostbusters world. Read More...
