Star Wars
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just been announced and coming later this year to further expand the Star Wars universe in a way that only LEGO can do
We all figured it was coming but now we have an official announcement for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I would have thought that TT Games would have tried to get this out closer to the release of the film to try and capitalize on all of that at the time but it just wasn't in the cards I guess. Maybe Warner Bros. couldn't secure the needed materials to make LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens back then. I'll go with that. None the less we are getting another LEGO Star Wars title on June 28th for the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, and PC. All the usual suspects here.
What is interesting here is that LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens won't only be a fun and silly way to relive the most recent film of the same name but it is looking to delve deeper into the events between the sixth chapter of the saga and the seventh. Kind of like what the other Star Wars games are doing in today's market but just in the silliness of LEGO. I am just curious on how much of it will be worked into cannon later on and how much will be just a rehashing of the same story people have seen numerous times for Star Wars already. I'm going to bet not much and pretty much on par; respectfully.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens — Announce Trailer
There does look to be some form of new gameplay coming along with LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens though. At least new in terms of TT Games' doing. For the first time in one of these LEGO games we will have "Blaster Battles" which we don't have many details on but sounds like the core gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront. Also there is a new mechanic called "Multi-Builds" that also isn't detailed out as of yet but promises "multiple building options to advance the game." Sounds like we'll just have more options to craft the broken world environments instead of the basic ones that just hop around. We'll have to wait to see what that does now.
In all honesty, did you think we were that far off from getting LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Are you excited to replay the film's events in the vein of LEGO here? How do you think this game will further the Star Wars universe as is claimed that it will? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As we get further information on LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens out of Warner Bros. we will have the updates right here on the site. Be sure to keep checking in for more as they come.
