Time To Go Back To The Future
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 3rd of September 2010 - 03:42 PM ]
I think Telltale Games took the DeLorean the wrong way through the time stream. Instead of going back and making a huge game based off the franchise back in the late 80's and early 90's, they went forward and decided to make a game 20 years after the last film hit theaters. That is, if it somehow came out before the end of the year. That just seems like the wrong way to do things. What they did do right though is snagged one of the guys who wrote the scripts from the classic films and also grabbed the great Christopher Lloyd to actually voice Doc Brown. Read More...

WCG Ultimate Gamer 2: Episode 2 - Balls In
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of August 2010 - 06:32 PM ]
With a very unimpressive first episode, you may be wondering why am I even continuing with reporting on the proceedings. Well, plain and simple for two reasons: first, in hopes that it will get better and second, in hopes that I can save others' time with a recap if it isn't all that good. Ten minutes of reading seems better than an hour of watching an ad bombardment. So let's get right into it. "Disclaimer" I will make it no secret that I tried out for this season and was not selected due to XBox Live issues during game analysis. Read More...

Let's Look At Jigsaw's Drawing Board
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of August 2010 - 05:51 PM ]
Where does he get all those wonderful toys? Oh wait wrong franchise for that quote. But it still kind of fits for Jigsaw in the Saw film and video game franchises. Doesn't it? For those of you that don't know where he gets them let me spoil it for you. He makes them himself, unlike Batman. Just like any good builder, be it creative death traps or video game level design, it all has to start somewhere. That somewhere usually blueprints or conceptual art for the ultimate thing to slay audiences minds. Konami is giving us all a look at the genius behind some of these traps, levels and characters in the upcoming Saw II: Flesh and Blood video game. Read More...

WCG's Ultimate Gamer: Episode 1 Gets Too Catty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of August 2010 - 08:39 PM ]
It has started up again. WCG's Ultimate Gamer 2 premiered last night on SyFy - bringing the gaming culture to the masses on cable TV. It is somewhat surprising that there was a season two being done considering the lack luster acceptance by the gaming community the last go round, but back it is - for better or worse, depending on your outlook. So with all of that comes the recap for those who missed the show and just want to know. Or for those who don't want to watch, yet want to know the progress. Read More...

More Songs Revealed For Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 04:43 PM ]
Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of June 2010 - 06:48 PM ]
<UPDATE> Well it seems that some of the rumors surrounding what this video could be are being squashed and confirmed by actress Jeri Ryan. All through her confirmed Twitter account. Well this news came sooner than I could ever realized. According to G4tv.com, Legendary Pictures just picked up the rights to make a feature film based on Mass Effect. As we speak they are in discussions with the screen writers from I Am Legend and Thor to produce the screenplay. Now you may be wondering who will be producing the film? You will be happy to know that BioWare's co-founder and VP, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, along with Mass Effect executive producer, Casey Hudson, will serve as executive producers for the film. Joining in on the fun will be Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Ari Arad. Read More...

Street Fighter: Legacy
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 4th of May 2010 - 10:40 PM ]
I know what your thinking, "damn another crappy Street Fighter film," but that's not the case here. This new adaptation looks fantastic, and true to the style and impact that so many Street Fighter fans have felt over the years. This is a movie for the fans. Joey Ansah is a stuntman (last see in Bourne Ultimatum) with a passion, a passion for the Street Fighter franchise. Ansah has personally expressed what so many fans of the game have felt every time a mention of a new Street Fighter movie was announced: "As an actor, film maker and a fan, I have been repeatedly disappointed by the many diluted, un faithful and outright butchered movie adaptations of fighting video games. It was clear to me, that given the way the movie industry worked, we would never see a super faithful, darker toned and more adult themed (or just plain good! Read More...

Iron Man 2 Gets Its Prologue On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of April 2010 - 07:02 PM ]
Well it's coming closer to crunch time for Iron Man 2. Both for the film and videogame. So let's take a look at what we get to look forward to in the next week. At least as far as the videogame goes. Visually it is looking rather decent. As you can see from the below screen shots and new "prologue" trailer for the game. I mean they are not the best visuals known to the gaming industry, but for a movie tie in game you have to admit to yourself that they are pretty spectacular. Even though they do take on the cartoon feel to the whole style, but that is ok. Read More...

The Clashing Of The Titans Is Still Going On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of April 2010 - 07:17 PM ]
Well now that the film has come and still kind of around in theaters, some of these screen shots (below) for Namco's video game version of the game have begun to make a little more sense. Although there were still no frog people in the film, some of the updated and altered creatures and scenes fit in a little better. With that said, some of the in-game character models look a little bulkier then their film counter parts. The insane cult leader is a perfect example. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is Clashing Against Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of April 2010 - 11:14 PM ]
I find it a little odd, yet a little relieving, that the game based on the recent release of Clash Of The Titans isn't hitting shelves for another two months. Really odd as most of the time the licencors want a game to hit along side the release of a movie. Which generally leads to rushing and piss poor work being slopped out there to make a buck or two. Look at most of the movie based games out there and you will see this is the case. It's part of the reason this "genre" of game sucks monkey nipples. Read More...

Halo Movie Has Cometh
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 04:23 PM ]
That's right. You read the title right. IGN just posted the video that came along with the cryptic image of Master Chief that appeared yesterday (3/31/10). It wasn't the tease for a new game, but a live action Halo film. Oh yea. It's happening. Words can not sum up the epicness of this video. It even looks like it is going to sum up the entire game story perfectly. I mean, just from the below clip you can see how close they stay to the story. Just watch and enjoy. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is The Diet Coke Of GOW
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 05:20 PM ]
With the US release of the film only about a week away, it is time that Namco started to pump out some good screen shots for the Clash Of The Titans video game. Which, looking below, they just did. Some rather good ones too that don't have me questioning what is being added to the story just for the game. Most of the below are actually the reworked creatures being used in the modernized film. Like the Kraken that looks like a sand worm from Final Fantasy and the centaurs. Read More...
