Skyrim Artists Release Podcast And Concept Art
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 3rd of November 2011 - 05:49 PM ]
The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim is just around the corner and the Bethesda artists have taken to the web and are giving us a look at what goes into (conceptually) creating the world of Skyrim. Also a podcast with some excellent commentary, Completely Blue Sky: The Art Of Skyrim is a must listen for any Elder Scrolls fan. "(Adam) Adamowicz, a Bethesda veteran, was joined by his friend (Ray) Lederer in the fall of 2008. The two have known each other for over a decade, putting them very clearly on the same page in both art and attitude. Read More…

Grand Theft Auto V Now Has It's Trailer...Straight Outta Vinewood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of November 2011 - 05:40 PM ]
The wait is now over GTA fans. The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V can be seen below in all of its glory. At least in the glory of having a trailer that really doesn't tell us much. Outside of heavy hints at a Los Angeles-type setting and a time period of being current. But hey, it is better than just having a tweet that said the game was coming. We all get to see that the game is in full production and not just some pre-production limbo for now. I, for one, was wishing that Rockstar would have deviated from the normal GTA staples and gone outside of the box - at least in the realm of game world. Read More…

Trailer Park (11/1/11)
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 1st of November 2011 - 10:39 PM ]
Alright it's time for the next installment to "Trailer Park". This time I have a few new trailers lined up for you guys. I hope you all enjoy. Our first trailer today is a new "grind house style" trailer for Grasshopper Manufacture's new game: Lollipop Chainsaw. The trailer features the cliché grind house voice over guy and a scantily clad cheerleader named "Juliet Starling" who just happens to be the main character. Lollipop Chainsaw follows Juliet and her family as they fight off hordes of mindless zombies in her high school. The horde of zombies are controlled by a group of "rock and roll" zombies. 10 Things You Ought To Know: The Sims Social
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 10:04 PM ]
Love 'em or hate 'em, Facebook games are a part of today's general gaming landscape. They come in many shapes and sizes – requiring various amounts of your time and (the developers hope) money. It's hard to give a hard and fast review on Facebook games, which like any other Massively Multiplayer Online game, it is constantly evolving. In lieu of a review, I decided to pull out my 10 Things You Ought to Know-style article and take a look at The Sims Social. You’re going to ask a lot of your friends. Read More…

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Nine: Blitz On Blizzcon
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 31st of October 2011 - 04:28 PM ]
Episode 89 has the Aggrocast mixing things up. Writer Matthew Waitt joins Brian and Corey for the podcast filled with talk of World of Warcraft and everything Blizzcon 2011. You'll also hear Brian pretty much speechless as he tries to wrap his head around why people are still excited about WoW. It's not just a WoW podcast, as we talk about Diablo III, Starcraft II and the almost complete absence of Titan. We also learn more about Matt, do Whatcha Been Playing and still make time for a sweet Care / Don't Care. We are currently still having a technical issue with our usual feeds, so in the mean time, click here to listen, press play below or use the link below to download it directly. Read More…

Review: Spider-Man: Edge Of Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of October 2011 - 08:30 PM ]
Just in the nick of time, Spider-Man is back in another game for us to take on the many comic book villains who plague New York in Spider-Man: Edge Of Time. While not a direct sequel to last year's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, it does have at least two of the dimensions represented and makes reference to the "Other Guys" from the game. That said, does SM: EoT reach or beat the bar that was set last year? We'll let's see. Read More…

Trailer Park (10/24/11)
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 24th of October 2011 - 11:09 PM ]
Blizzard has released a new cinematic trailer for Diablo III featuring some very scary atmosphere and demons. The new trailer also shows off some of the story we can expect in Diablo III, such as Asmodon trying to acquire the Black Soulstone to rule as the true prime evil. If my memory serves me correct there are seven prime evils and in Diablo II we killed three of them: Mephisto, Diablo and Baal. The trailer also shows us a new character, who I believe is Deckard Cain's niece, whose name I do not know at this point. But enough of my rambling, enjoy the trailer. Read More…

Mists Of Pandaria Is The Next WoW Expansion
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 21st of October 2011 - 09:16 PM ]
What started out as an April fool's joke has just turned into something far more serious. That's right folks; Mists of Pandaria is the new expansion to World of Warcraft. Blizzard said that they would be turning out expansions for World of Warcraft a lot sooner than they did in the past. Before there was an expansion about once every two years. But Cataclysm has only been out for about twelve months, so I guess Blizzard held up their promises. Anyways, the new trailer shows off the land of Pandaria, a place highly influenced by Asian culture and architecture. Read More…

Scrolls Gets To Keep Its Name
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 20th of October 2011 - 02:25 PM ]
Markus Persson (aka Notch), the man who brought you Minecraft has won a legal battle against ZeniMax Media/Bethesda Softworks. His new project, entitled Scrolls, seems to have caught the attention of one of the big dogs.  The trouble began when a law firm representing ZeniMax contacted Markus saying that he was being sued for having a game title with the likeness to The Elder Scrolls. To be honest, I find that to be just to a bit ridiculous. There is a clear and distinct difference between "Scrolls" and "The Elder Scrolls. Read More…

New Halo Anniversary Trailer Says What's Old is New
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 19th of October 2011 - 02:07 PM ]
A new "BTS" or "Behind The Scenes" trailer has been released for the upcoming Halo: Anniversary. The trailer shows off a lot of new stuff such as Skulls in Campaign, as well as Kinect and 3D support. I was previously on the fence for getting Halo: Anniversary, but after watching this trailer, I can honestly say I'm 100% sold on this. The aforementioned were not the only improvements, now there is easier navigation through the Library. Many of you perhaps remember - as I did - getting lost hundreds of times while the flood eats your face. Read More…

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Eight: When Capitalism Meets Completion-ism
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 11:27 PM ]
Your regular length Aggrocast is back, even if not necessarily the guys are completely back on track as they continue to recover from Extra Life. David, Corey&Brian use the time for Whatcha Been Playing and Community Spotlight to share their Extra Life experiences and talk Dragon Age: Origins, Dark Souls and Spider Man: Edge of Time. Be sure to keep listening as Care / Don't Care gets a little lively as does our main topic, revolving around when does a game "end" for you. Where are you on this issue? Read More…

Epic Fail
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 08:12 PM ]
It was a sweltering summer afternoon, my friend Curt and I were sheltered by an air conditioner on full blast. Inside our sanctuary we spent countless days acquiring callouses and sores on our thumbs as we played endlessly the games of our childhood. One moment in particular stands out from the rest, after many hours and a few dozen restarts Curt and I managed to make it to the final stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for the Nintendo Entertainment System. An eruption of joy and excitement exploded inside me. Too young to control the sudden burst of joy, I jumped off my bed and screamed "YEAH! Read More…

Review: X-Men: Destiny
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 05:55 PM ]
I am both a fan of X-men and comic books in general. I have many fond memories of playing the four-player, beat-em up style Konami arcade game back in the 80's and I have spent more than a few hours playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with my buddies. Silicon Knights' newest title, X-Men: Destiny, should have been a no-brainer - backed by such a great concept as it boasted being the next great brawling action game where you could create the mutant you always believed should be in this universe. Unfortunately due to its execution, the game becomes really diluted, which knocks it down a few notches on the likeability scale. Before the game starts, the game will ask you to choose one of three distinct characters - each with their own minor story line. Read More…

By Mennen! A New Episode Of Nuka Break Slipped Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of October 2011 - 09:48 PM ]
I've been insanely busy over the last few days, but it looks like the next chapter on Fallout: Nuka Break just hit like the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Only that unlike TWD, F:NB doesn't fully pick up where we last left off. Be it because of some shady stuff the producers and writers don't want us knowing yet or be that I missed something. In either instance, the whole story picks back up well after the group has left town. Also while Scarlet's old slaver is planning a reclamation plan elsewhere in the world. Read More…

AT&T Crediting Players To Join Xbox Live In November
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 11th of October 2011 - 05:10 PM ]
If you read our previous article about XBox Live and Its new TV streaming service then you already know that and XBox Live Gold account will be required to access most of these new features. Well in a screen shot today submitted by a reader over at GiantBomb AT&T U-verse is actually crediting users who want to use the XBox Live feature the cost of a single year's subscription. A little out of character for AT&T but hey I'll take what I can get. The big deal here is that AT&T U-verse was available to all Silver members and will now require a Gold membership to partake in all the entertainment features. Read More…
