The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 04:37 PM ]
For fans of the WWE, there was a lot to love about last year’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. Visually the game was astounding. The characters models were about as lifelike as you could possibly get with attention paid to the smallest details. A great amount of time was spent revamping the tag team matches adding things like hot tags, illegal blind tags, and having inactive teammates being more attractive while standing on the ring apron. Add in the Inferno Match which debuted in the 2009 game and you have one heck of a game. But having played so many of the previous WWE games (going all the way back to when the company was still known as the WWF) I personally felt like there was so much I had seen before that had been cut out. Gaming To A Whole New Level In Vegas
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 03:34 PM ]
Clearwire officially launches WiMax in Las Vegas When you think of Las Vegas and Gaming, the first place you go is to the table game and gambling. It is the staple in Vegas. But it looks like soon, like in a few weeks, gaming could take a slight twist in the town. At least as it comes to online portable gaming. Maybe make the town a bit more family friendly. Who knows? The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Friday, 3rd of July 2009 - 02:28 AM ]
I think if you look at the landscape of films that have been adapted from video games, generally it looks a lot like what comic book movies were like when they were first being released. Yes the original Superman and the original Batman movies from the mid-late 1980’s are classics, but look down the line at some of the sequels. Look across the board to movies like The Punisher or Captain America. These were awful movies. Read More...

Mass Effect: Galaxies Review
by Kevin [ Friday, 26th of June 2009 - 02:03 AM ]
Mass Effect Galaxies, formerly Mass Effect: Jacob's Story, is an iPhone game developed by Bioware to offer fans of the franchise a little more in the way of mythology and action. It's a top down shooter with a great deal of personality for such a tiny title. It is not required to enjoy the series, but playing the game does give you insight into more of what is going on with characters you will encounter in the highly anticipated sequel, Mass Effect 2, Jacob and Miranda. Many of the same options in the 'higher end titles' appear here, including biotic powers and branching conversation trees. Unfortunetly, using the branching conversation mechanic here does not seem to have as much weight as it does in the aformentioned big brother to this game. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Friday, 19th of June 2009 - 12:59 AM ]
The zombie apocalypse is one of only a handful of things that are universally cool. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how prepared you are), a zombie invasion is likely to never occur, as such the only way to take on a horde of the undead is in a video game. Quite a few titles have been based on the zombie apocalypse, but I’ve always felt like there was something missing. Left 4 Dead is probably the best zombie game to come out in the last few years and just about anyone who’s played it is looking forward to the sequel. As great as it was though, I found it to be a little too mechanical. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Thursday, 4th of June 2009 - 06:31 AM ]
I consider myself a hardcore gamer, and as such I do my best to play a lot of different games. But no matter how satisfied I am with the titles that are released year in and year out, I can't help but wish for something else. Now don't get me wrong, just about anything I could ever want has been released at some point, and yet I still can't help but feel like if someone else had worked on the game it would have taken the game to a whole new level. That's what this is all about. The Ultimate Gaming Wish list is a look at what I would like to see on the horizon. Read More...

Mass Effect: Jacob's Story
by Kevin [ Saturday, 2nd of May 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
In keeping with the Mass Effect news that was previously presented concerning the concept at for ME2, here's some information on the side story coming to iPhones and the iPod Touch.Kotaku reported,"Intergalactic role-playing adventure is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch with Mass Effect: Jacob's Story, a two-hour "animated presentation" with top-down arcade-style space combat that serves as a prequel of sorts to Mass Effect 2.The iPhone version of Mass Effect is currently being test-marketed via online survey, touting an "animated graphic novel experience" that blends "nuance[d]" story telling with "gripping top-down shooter combat."Mass Effect: Jacob's Story stars Jacob Taylor, "a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization's greatest beacon of hope," who must save the galaxy, naturally, but with an Apple brand touchscreen. Bragging OnLive With Clips
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 31st of March 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
Overview Of OnLive If you have been paying attention to anything that has come out of this year's GDC, or at least following the Total Meltdown Podcast, you most likely heard some bit on the new service called OnLive that is being worked on. Some say it is the future of digital downloading, and others are skeptical about this new system that has been proposed. Which of course is why I went out to ask a few things from the people behind this service to get a few answers and information to give out. For those of you who have no clue what OnLive is, here is a an overview of it and in simpler terms for everyone. Read More...

Firebird And VooDoo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 9th of January 2009 - 05:58 AM ]
HP Firebird 803 tower So when I first heard about this little marvel, I was a little skeptical. It just did not look like ti would have the power behind what was claimed. I mean, look at the picture there and tell me it does not look like it is something like an E-Machine. But it packs a serious punch. I mean look at the specs below. Those are the ones for the $1800 version. Read More...

A Steam Cloud is rolling in...
by [ Tuesday, 4th of November 2008 - 02:20 AM ]
Today, Valve has announced a platform that will store game applications online so that gamers can access them from any PC. Affectionately titled Steam Cloud, the November zombie thriller Left 4 Dead will ship with out-of-the-box support. According to Valve, the Steam Cloud "just works," meaning that any changes a gamer makes to configurations in-game such as button layouts, difficulty settings, or multiplayer options will be automatically delegated to the user’s Steam Cloud account on another computer. Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve, explains: "For some time now, Steam has allowed gamers to log on from any computer in the world and access their applications. This also makes it easy to upgrade a PC without worrying about losing your games. Read More...

by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of September 2008 - 12:47 AM ]
After going to the various conventions and expos, we at Pwned.com realized that we have a lot of schwag we picked up.  The items include posters, toys, buttons, stickers, demos and more.  Instead of hording all of this for ourselves, we are giving back to you, the members of the site.  We had quite a few ideas of how to give this stuff away, some ridiculous, some too much of a pain in the arse to do.  We finally came up with the idea of combining the contest with our Pwned.com Gaming Nights. 180-degree field of vision for gaming
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Monday, 12th of May 2008 - 07:51 PM ]
The jDome Website is home to this project that creates a monitor view with an immersive 180-degree field of vision for gaming, using a pretty simple patented approach that only costs a couple of hundred dollars to construct. There's a video with the inventor showing off a prototype of the project on Gizomdo, where they comment on it's potential to induce headaches. The inventor is looking to generate a community around this project to help take it to the point where it can be put into production. Read More...
