A Few Updates On PlayStation Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of January 2014 - 05:31 PM ]
PlayStation Now was announced and we got some of the news but after getting to talk to some of the people behind the service we have a few updates. Earlier I wrote about my experiences with Sony's new PlayStation Now service that will be coming to market in the next half a year or so. I had a few reservations as well as a few other questions crop up during my writing. Being semi-responsible I decided to go and get some better clarifications and answers to expand on my experience. Here is what I learned directly from the horse's mouth at CES. Read More...

CES 2014 Hands On: PlayStation Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of January 2014 - 05:32 PM ]
Sony unveiled PlayStation Now at this year's CES and had a little taste of it on the show floor. Here's what I discovered while giving it a whirl. In case you have missed the announcement, Sony has announced PlayStation Now as a new video game streaming service coming to the PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and Bravia TVs in the near future. Think of it along the lines of OnLive or the PC game streaming feature from GameFly but aimed at PlayStation games and at Sony products solely. That is the general gist of things but here's a bit more of a break down for you. Read More...

Because That's How PlayStation 4 / Xbox One People Are
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 14th of November 2013 - 07:02 PM ]
The Latest South Park Episode Wraps Up The Ludicrous Thoughts On The PS4 Vs. Xbox One Console War…In My Opinion A few years ago, around the launch of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there was a huge controversy over an acronym that was being used as a promotional piece for the game. Fight Against Grenade Spam was the tag for those that don't remember. They caught a lot of flak for it from the media and at about the same time the brains over at South Park Studios put out an episode, The F Word, which summed up my feelings on the matter. As we move into the new consoles coming out here in a matter of days, one for the PlayStation 4 and eight for the Xbox One in NA, I have been seeing more and more on this gens 'Console War'. Rock Band Blitz will also be compatible with all your DLC from past Rock Band games. If you are just interested in getting new songs for Rock Band 3, Blitz acts as a Song Pack. Read More...

The Tester Season 3: Episode 1 - Lessons Attention Whoring
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of February 2012 - 06:58 PM ]
So here we go with Season 3 of PlayStation's The Tester. The first episode just hit the web and through every other medium that Sony wants us to watch it through. As promised in every other article about this show, I will give you my personal overview of the episode and things to look at for yourself. Hells, maybe even a reason on why not to watch at all or the converse. In any instance, let's move on before the title alone clouds your judgment. Read More...

Here Is The Teaser For The Tester And...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 18th of January 2012 - 07:00 PM ]
It looks like all of my thoughts from before about the new season of The Tester were about right. Either that or the editors of this teaser thought it would be best to show the entire cast failing and being told they ALL have failed. It's like they want to show that they chose the worst of the worst for the competition as long as they look good or 'act' humorous the entire time. Go ahead and watch the teaser and tell me that is not the first thing that comes to mind after watching. I'll wait as usual. Read More...

Time To Get Real...Again...With The Tester
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of January 2012 - 05:48 PM ]
Hopefully it is no big surprise that Sony has the third season of The Tester under its belt. I'm sure most of you gamers out there saw floods of tweets, wall posts and whatever other method of online social interaction to get votes to be on the show. I know at least a few hundred of you saw the flood. Back to the topic at hand, it was just announced who was finally cast for the show as well as the fact that we can watch this new group starting on February 7th. You can see a video showcasing all of these "contestants" below. Read More...

Zachary Levi To Host Video Game Awards
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 30th of November 2011 - 10:29 PM ]
Today it was announced that Zachary Levi will be hosting the 2011 Video Game Awards on Spike TV. Before you click away from this article and roll your eyes, let's take a look at the VGAs and this press release in particular before you pre-judge the fledgling award show. I decided to do this analysis in hopes that Spike TV is trying to legitimize the show and the process. First off, Zachary Levi is a nice, safe choice for host. He's moderately popular with the mainstream (Chuck, Tangled) and he has geek cred (Halo voiceover and Internet presence). Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 7th of October 2011 - 01:53 AM ]
For the past couple of weeks, there have been a lot of rumors circulating the web that TV was coming to theXbox. Microsoft and Xbox's own Major Nelson, have Confirmed what players have anxiously been waiting for. Microsoft has teamed up with 40 entertainment providers to bring players all the TV you can stomach to your Xbox 360. The list of providers ranges from HBO Go, Syfy and Cartoon Network to full on providers like Verizon FiOS and Comcast. The Tester Season 3 Is Upon Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of August 2011 - 10:56 PM ]
Well this was a little unexpected. Last time it was announced during E3 and was a major thing Sony wanted to bring up. Unless their plan was to use QuakeCon to help the announcement. Then spot on. Oh, by the way, I am talking about the announcement for the third season of The Tester. You know that PSN/PS3 exclusive "reality show" that has gone two years now. Now normally, after what happened last time, I'd have some scoffing and guffawing about this. It's just how I'd feel. Read More...

Ruin On The PS Vita
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 9th of June 2011 - 02:14 AM ]
Multiple character classes, action based role playing, advancement and loot, Torchlight&helip;I mean Ruin is coming out on the latest announced platform, the PS Vita. It honestly looks like Torchlight/Diablo, but considering it's on the PS Vita I'm okay with that. This is the style of game the mobile platform was intended. Developers Idol Minds are the geniuses behind this gem, who also brought you Pain The Game where you could throw Andy Dick through pretty much anything but a solid building (and then some). This game play trailer brought to you by G4TV. Read More...

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 8 - Same Old Story
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 1st of June 2011 - 10:28 PM ]
What a twist! Who knew that Quan Chi was the master mind behind the whole Sub Zero/Scorpion plot? My mind is blown! Completely didn't expect this "reimagining" to go there. Madness! Wait… What…? That is the basic canon of the Mortal Kombat universe? It wasn't something amazingly awesome thought up by the people who wrote something amazing to get the WB behind this little web series? Damn… I was really hoping for something here. Now that my sarcasm has been given the chance to be out in the open for the day, let's move on. Read More...

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 7 - Scorpion The Family Man
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of May 2011 - 08:55 PM ]
That didn't last long. The awesome reimagining of the Mortal Kombat franchise that was shown in episode 6 seems to be thrown to the side as we are back on the path of the stories we already know. Oh, and just like the Kitana/Mileena story, this one is set up the same way only with franchise favorites Scorpion and Sub Zero. That includes the "To Be Continued" at the end of the episode. I will give the episode a bit of credit as it does expand on the whole rivalry story between the two characters. Read More...

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 6 - Raiden's Gone Crazy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of May 2011 - 09:59 PM ]
Finally we get something that was originally pitched way back when. It only took six episodes before we got another gritty take on the Mortal Kombat universe. While it was nothing as insane as how Baraka or Scorpion were presented, it does ask the question of "What would happen if a god fell in the modern age?" It also answers it pretty accurately too boot. This week's episode features Raiden who seems to have fallen out of power and into the grounds of a mental institution. Read More...

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 5 - Sibling Rivalry...Kind Of
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of May 2011 - 09:02 PM ]
The latest episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy has hit the web and it continues down the path of just retelling the story from the game. I have given up hope that they would begin to go back to the "reality based" version. So I am going to try and approach this from a different angle as my original excitement was for something that seems will never be. Anyway, this episode continues the animatic and story of Kitana and Mileena that was approached in last week's episode. It has the girls vying for their "father's" approval by fighting each other and following out assassination plots. Read More...
