New PSP Go Promotion Gives New Owners Free Games
by 345 [ Wednesday, 2nd of June 2010 - 01:15 PM ]
A new promotion was announced on the PlayStation Blog yesterday for the PSPGo. Anyone who buys the handheld from now until March 31st, 2011 will receive three free game vouchers. The games included are: Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, and Little Big Planet. Overall this is a solid set of games, but unfortunately the SCEA bundle pales in comparison with the SCEE deal, as anyone in Europe who buys a PSPGo gets 10 free games with their purchase. This offer pretty much confirms that we won't likely be hearing about a PSP2 anytime soon, and more importantly it shows that SCEA is still doing an incredibly awful job at marketing the PSPGo in the US. This is evident as there is still no price drop in sight for the PSPGo. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 6th of May 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Ever wanted a chance to go to E3? Willing to do whatever it takes to go to E3? Well Sony now gives you a chance to do just that. They have created a “Win a Trip to E3 2010” contest and all they want you to do is create an open letter video to Kevin Butler, you know everyone favorite fictional Playstation VP in the commercials. Here is the guideline: Each video should begin with the phrase “Dear Playstation” Include your take on Kevin Butler's ever-changing title Make sure you include your own name and title (e.g John Smith, Desperate Fan) Keep your submissions brief and to the point (30 seconds or less) Video can be about anything Playstation related All content must be original – no copyrighted music, video, pictures, etc. Read More...

With the success of God of War III, Sony has just announced that our favorite Spartan will be making his return to the Sony PSP and PSPgo in God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Why are they making another God of War game you may ask? Probably going to kill more Greek Gods. God of War: Chains of Olympus is still the highest rated PSP title of all-time according to Metacritic.com. So what is in store for us this time around. Read More...

With E3 slowly getting closer and closer, a surprise announcement last week from Microsoft will kick E3 off early on a Sunday for Project Natal. Not to be left behind, today Sony has told everyone to Save The Date for June 15th in Los Angeles, CA as to when they will be revealing their latest stuff this year. With Microsoft and Sony all set with their conference date it is all up for Nintendo to inform us when they will be holding their conference so we all can see their latest handheld, the 3DS. My Take: I wonder what they will reveal at the conference this year. Read More...

Hackers Ruin The PS3 For Everyone?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 08:17 PM ]
The following words are my own opinions and not those of AggroGamer and its staff. A month or two ago, it was announced that someone had figured out how to crack the PS3 to allow for home-brews and "pirated"/backed up PS2 and PS3 games to be played on the system. It was not explained how for a week or two after the announcement that it could be done in a way that could not be patched. But this isn't the news here. The news here is that Sony, after stating it wouldn't, is going to force "Fat" PS3 owners to update so they can no longer install another OS on the system. Read More...

Just as promised, we have the trailer for The Last Titan Standing. A short little 16 second trailer showing very little of what actually went on within the show. Not to mention a reminder about watching the full competition tonight (3/15/10) on Spike TV. So please take a gander at it. Now that you have gandered, are you a bit more excited? Yes, it looks cheesy. Yes, it looks another "reality show. Read More...

Review: Heavy Rain
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 11:37 PM ]
To every person who has ever claimed that they are all about story over game play, be prepared to put your money where your mouth is. An ambitious title from start to finish, Heavy Rain will challenge you not only on your assertions, but possibly your morality and level of immersion as well. Whether you call it “interactive media,” a “story-driven game” or “Choose Your Own Adventure gone wrong,” Heavy Rain will intrigue you enough to play it and it will elicit a reaction whether it be for good or for ill. The story is in the not-to-distant future of a city gripped in fear of a kidnapper / serial killer. With little hope of catching the killer, the hysteria mounts as another victim is taken. by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 11th of January 2010 - 09:12 PM ]
Brian, Binh & David are back to wrap up the Consumer Electronic Show for 2010.  In an odd turn of events they start with Day 4 and what Binh caught as the show closed (Wii sniper rifle); then they moved onto Day 2 including a recreation of events that you would normally see here, a visit with Capcom and a "celebrity" sighting.  Things finish up with the guys talking Saturday's Day 3.  With no appointments to meet, it was time to get to all the spots they missed previously. Review: Little Big Planet PSP
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 21st of December 2009 - 06:03 PM ]
“Play, Create, Share” is the motto for the newest Playstation Portable game Little Big Planet PSP. We all know how Little Big Planet when released for the Playstation 3; winning awards left and right and managing to win Game of the Year in many publications like GamePro, Edge and Eurogamer. The thing is, most of us already know how Little Big Planet (LBP) played on Sony's big black console and we here at Aggrogamer were curious just how it would play out on the often-overlooked PSP. Well let us utilize the motto to explore the PSP version of Little Big Planet. “Play”: Little Big Planet PSP is in no way a port from the PS3 to the PSP. Read More...

WOOT, 15 years down!
by Ben Brody [ Friday, 4th of December 2009 - 09:19 PM ]
Today, December 3, 2009 marks the 15th anniversary of Sony's PlayStation line. The timeline goes as followed:1994: Release of PlayStation 12000: Release of PlayStation 22005: Release of PlayStationPortable2006: Release of PlayStation 3There were a bunch of Slims in there as well, but those aren't really new consoles, just redesigned consoles. The 15 years has been kind to Sony who previous to getting into the game industry was known for it's TV equipment. Sony's Beta player had given LaserDisc and VHS a run for their money, and their TV's were considered second to none. Read More...

Review: Assassin's Creed Bloodlines
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 2nd of December 2009 - 05:39 PM ]
As I was about to board my flight for the trip, I thought I might pick up something to help the trip go by faster. I understood that buying inside the airport usually meant higher prices, but I managed to find a reasonably priced PSP Assassin's Creed Bloodlines bundle, which came with the game, a Silver PSP-3000, a code redeemable for a DLC version of Angels and Demons, and a 2gb memory stick. Sure, I already had the PSP-1000 and I did know that the 3000's screens were crap at best, but I decided to get one anyhow seeing as that my launch unit's screen was fairly beaten up, scratched, and the fact that the audio only worked through the headphones as the speakers had found a way to stop working about 2 weeks before. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed isn't new to the handheld world, Altair's Chronicles was released to the Nintendo DS and iPhone earlier, however this was the first time that they would try putting the full free-roam style gameplay on a handheld.
