Why So Serious?
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 10:27 PM ]
I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Video games are not all about world wars, political sabotaging, or saving the world from a cliché ultimate evil. We came from a very humble beginning, a beginning of stomping on weird brown monsters, using rainbows to squash bugs, and controlling fat pink things that suck up anything in their path. Read More...

A Beast Of A New Trailer For BioShock Infinite
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 06:24 PM ]
While some of us were busy participating in a 24 hour game-a-thon for Extra Life and the Children's Miracle Network, Irrational Games and Take Two decided they would let loose their new trailer for BioShock Infinite. Either it was planned or not, it definitely hit just right and brought the title back into the lime light. Not that it was left out too much, but outside of the pre-order updates news has been sparse for Infinite for quite some time. Take a look at the new trailer and a few stills from it below. Review: Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 22nd of October 2012 - 10:01 PM ]
The first time I heard the name Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, I immediately thought to myself, “Oh God, what am I getting into.” Once again I am not disappointed. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is a platformer/shooter like that of the golden age. Combining beautiful backdrops, stimulating puzzles, and fast-paced firefights, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken gives just enough challenge to keep any player entertained and on edge. The story Follows Hardboiled Chicken, The Cock of War, must rise against Putski, the evil penguin dictator. I couldn’t make that up if I wanted to. Read More...

Outlast - A New IP From Red Barrels
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 17th of October 2012 - 06:37 PM ]
Who's ready for another Survival Horror game to hit your computers? You? Good. Looks like Red Barrels has something in store for fans of the genre. Outlast is the name and surviving or 'outlast'ing the horrors of Mount Massive Asylum is the game, so to speak. Here's what we know outside of the new trailer below. In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy… until now. Review: World Of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 11th of October 2012 - 11:06 PM ]
Mists of Pandaria is World of Warcraft's fourth expansion since its beginning in 2004. Featuring over 1,800 achievements, a new race, a new class, a whole new continent to explore and much more. Mists of Pandaria was released back in September and I'm finally writing up a review for it, simply because I have experience enough of the expansion to finally give it a worthwhile review. So the level cap has been increased five levels. While that might not seem much, the ramp up from 85 to 90 is enormous. Read More...

PETA-mon Or Pokémon Black & Blue
by [ Wednesday, 10th of October 2012 - 06:23 PM ]
Many of you know the group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). You know their missions, their methods, and you have your opinions on it. Good or bad, you can’t deny their ability to latch onto trends like a starving leech. Video games seem to be their latest target. They’ve created parody games before, including Cooking Mamma: Mamma Kills Animals, Super Tofu Boy, and Mario Kills Tanooki. Finally, 16 years after their initial release, PETA is taking a swing at Pokémon. Their latest game, coinciding with the release of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, is Pokémon Black and Blue. Hands-on With The Medal Of Honor: Warfighter Public Beta
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 9th of October 2012 - 08:18 PM ]
Today started like any other. I signed into XBox Live, went to see what was new on the marketplace, and found the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Multiplayer Beta ready for download. I enjoyed the last Medal of Honor so much that I decided to give it a try. Once again I am finding it tough to tear myself away from the game even to write this. Medal of Honor: Warfighter Multiplayer Beta already has me wanting to go out and get the game right now. With subtle tweaks to the style, and larger changes to load outs, I am scouring to see everything this game has to offer. Read More...

Let's See Some More Ways To Murder In Hitman: Absolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 8th of October 2012 - 04:47 PM ]
Just when you thought we'd seen enough of the murdering for Hitman: Absolution we have yet another trailer showcasing it. This time they are rather creative and entertaining though. Like the guy running around with his head on fire. How'd that happen on accident? Either way I want to do that to someone in the game already. Let's get that launch date closer. Although I do have to say I am beginning to get curious if there is more to Hitman than just the killing. Read More...

Story Time For Assassin's Creed III!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of October 2012 - 07:07 PM ]
We are close to the launch of Assassin's Creed III and we know the general story and time period of the game. Wouldn't it be nice to get the spoiler on why and how Connor joined the assassins? When you look at the recruitment process in the past it would seem a bit odd that a Native American would join the ranks of the assassins. They have seemed to stick to a specific 'type' so far, but I digress. A bit of a heads up, the below trailer does touch on a few things in the intro story. Read More...

Story Time For Dishonored!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of October 2012 - 10:58 PM ]
Maybe you've been paying attention to Dishonored this and maybe you haven't been. Either way I am here to bring you a couple of new videos for the game that showcase a little of what could be seen as the back story for the game. From what it looks like it could all be related to how Corvo gets all his bad ass powers and the mask. Not to mention what kind of led to the world being in the state that it is in. They look to be more or less fun videos to give a bit of the background than actual details, so don't expect them to be spoilerific at all. Read More...

What I'd Like In Borderlands 3
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 09:36 PM ]
Well, after beating the campaign for the first time and having my jaw drop to the floor in shock, I think it's time we start discussing what could be improved for the third installment of Borderlands. I won't be spoiling anything for you guys so you guys can take the mouse off the "X" button now. First off, I would have to say "Keep this story going." It's a great story so far and a lot of good can and will come from this. The story in Borderlands 2 is more narrative and interactive than the first one. Read More...

Here Is What Was Promised For Black Ops II Zombies Last Week
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 07:07 PM ]
So last week we were teased with a world premiere for the Zombies mode for Call Of Duty: Black Ops II. Teased and left waiting. Well the wait is now over. Below we have the "World Premiere" of Zombies mode for Black Ops II and, well, we are still left wondering what is going on with it. The two minute video below shows off some fun game play and cinematics for the mode, but now real details though. Outside of what looks like a campaign style progression map leading to new maps to kill the undead. If you want to call it that. Read More...

Review: Borderlands 2
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 05:06 PM ]
I first experienced Borderlands 2 at PAX East, where I got to play the demo and see some of the new features it had to offer. Five months later, I am running through the game with the excitement of a little boy picking out his presents at a toy store. Borderlands 2 takes players into (or back into) Pandora to take on a new evil, who in turn is trying to resurrect an old evil. The journey will require skill, determination, allies, and guns. Lots of guns. Read More...

Saints Row 3: The Full Package
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 26th of September 2012 - 09:01 PM ]
THQ has recently announced a "Game Of The Year" type package for Saints Row: The Third. Simply called "Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package" for a price of $49.99. A release date has also been announced, and lucky for all you fans it's soon; November 6th, 2012. For PS3, XBox 360, and PC. The "Full Package" includes the full game, all three DLC mission packs, and over thirty DLC bonus items. I always regret not being able to buy Saints Row: The Third, but I did manage to play it. Now I have a damn good reason to own it and play through it all over again. Read More...

Remember Me being Capcom and Dontnod Entertainment's upcoming third person game in case you don't remember the announcement trailer. But of course you do so we can skip all the formalities and just press on. Right? If you look below we have a few new screen shots and a new video all showcasing the combat of Remember Me.
