Well, the beta test application site for Final Fantasy XIV has opened up, and while the beta may only be for the PC, it is a great chance for those interested to poke around in what could be a fantastic MMO experience. For the curious, the requirements are: Be at least 18 years of age Possess a Square Enix ID account (Register for a Square Enix ID account here, if you don't have one already) Possess an internet connection Be capable of downloading large amounts of data Be capable of submitting bug reports in either Japanese, English, French, or German Like any other beta test, there will be several waves and opportunities to enter the beta so don't be discouraged if you don't make it in initially. Well today NCsoft has announced that the highly anticipated MMO has been released to be manufactured, also known as going Gold. Recently Aion has been gaining a lot of momentum in the in the European and North American online communities, and rightfully so with more than 3 million hours of gameplay logged in Aion closed beta alone.This year at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, and at Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Washington, Aion will be available to play hands-on with the 1.5 version of the game. Remember the old school days of MUD's and serious 2D MMORPG action (where we learned to grind XP like a champ). One of the original MMORPG's is about to realease it's 8th expansion pack! Recently Ultima online released the 7th expansion Mondain's Legacy for free as a part of the game client, probably for players to get jazzed for the new expansion. The 8th expansion Stygian Abyss is due to be released September 8th 2009 and will include new features, dungeons and epic boss battles.
