Games We Are Looking Forward To In 2013
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 18th of December 2012 - 05:48 PM ]
With the end of the year coming soon and the end of the world coming sooner, I thought now would be a good time to show off some of the games we're most excited for. So let's get right into the goods. First off we have the third installment to the amazingly beautiful franchise of Crysis, with Crysis 3. Developed by Crytek and Published by EA, Crysis 3 takes place twenty-four years after the events of Crysis 2. Players will be taking the role of Prophet again as he returns to New York. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Aliens: Colonial Marines
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 05:28 PM ]
I had the privilege to speak with the senior producer of Aliens: Colonial Marines at PAX East over the weekend. They were also giving a demo of the Multiplayer. The Multiplayer was very team oriented and forced you to work together to defeat your opponents. The only mode we played was Team Deathmatch. The marines would all huddle around each other and pick off the Xenomorphs as they tried to separate the marines. One on one a marine has a very high chance of losing to a Xenomorph mainly due to its "pounce" ability. Read More...

Let's Now Take A Look At How That Kara Tech Demo Was Made
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of March 2012 - 09:39 PM ]
Near the beginning of the week I showed you the amazing Kara Tech Demo from Quantic Dreams. See as I have yet to see anything on UDK4 I am still saying that this has to be one of the coolest things I have seen from GDC 2012. I won't go further into it as you can read the previous article to get all of my thoughts on it. As for the purpose of this posting, well if you look below we get to see all the work that went into just making that tech demo as well as what we can assume will be part of the process of their next title. Everything from the rendering of the actual actress as the android being built as well as to how they mapped the facial movements so perfectly. Read More...

Here's Why You Should Get The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 05:52 PM ]
With the recent release of The Darkness II, I feel obligated to convince you guys to give this game a shot. I recently had a conference Q&A with the developers of The Darkness II. It was a fun and exciting new experience for me to sit down and listen to what challenges they faced while making the game and what are their personal favorites about the game. The Darkness II takes place two years after the first game, Jackie has gone from a mob hit man to the don of the family. Jackie has had the Darkness subdued for a couple years until he is attacked by an organization called "The Brotherhood" who know all of the Darkness' strengths and its weakness. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 8th of February 2012 - 10:53 PM ]
This episode of the Aggrocast tries out a new feature/format called Convince Me. Brian is joined by David and Matt who have the unfortunate task to attempt to convince Brian that he wants to play The Darkness II and Twisted Metal. The discussions heat up on these soon-to-be-released games. Will I be convinced? Listen and find out. Not everything is serious business. Read More...

The World Of Darkness MMO Not Completely Dead
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of January 2012 - 05:16 PM ]
First off, please pardon the pun. It was unexpected. But in all reality, it looks like the World Of Darkness MMO is not as dead in the water as CCP might have led everyone to believe. Myself included since I play the pen and paper version with some of the people who use to be part of the original team. In a recent interview on GamerLive.TV with Chris McDonough (Senior Producer) talked about a few of the inspirations for the game as well as some of the people brought in to help finish the project even though it is low priority to CCP at the moment. Trailer Park (11/1/11)
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 1st of November 2011 - 10:39 PM ]
Alright it's time for the next installment to "Trailer Park". This time I have a few new trailers lined up for you guys. I hope you all enjoy. Our first trailer today is a new "grind house style" trailer for Grasshopper Manufacture's new game: Lollipop Chainsaw. The trailer features the cliché grind house voice over guy and a scantily clad cheerleader named "Juliet Starling" who just happens to be the main character. Lollipop Chainsaw follows Juliet and her family as they fight off hordes of mindless zombies in her high school. The horde of zombies are controlled by a group of "rock and roll" zombies. Epic Fail
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 18th of October 2011 - 08:12 PM ]
It was a sweltering summer afternoon, my friend Curt and I were sheltered by an air conditioner on full blast. Inside our sanctuary we spent countless days acquiring callouses and sores on our thumbs as we played endlessly the games of our childhood. One moment in particular stands out from the rest, after many hours and a few dozen restarts Curt and I managed to make it to the final stage of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project for the Nintendo Entertainment System. An eruption of joy and excitement exploded inside me. Too young to control the sudden burst of joy, I jumped off my bed and screamed "YEAH! Read More...

World Of Darkness MMO Seems To Be Keeping The Theme
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of September 2011 - 06:23 PM ]
If you are not a huge fan of White Wolf Publishing and their games, you most likely have no clue that they held their largest fan convention over the last weekend. Most likely not all that interesting to those who don't care for table top gaming or LARP. But for those of you who are MMO fans and love the setting of a dingy darker world that we live in, then you might want to keep reading. Why? Because at said convention the powers that be let loose some new details on the World Of Darkness MMO. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Eighty-Three: E3 2011 Special
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 20th of June 2011 - 04:37 PM ]
David, Corey and Brian are back at it to talk about this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. First, they wrap up what they've been playing outside of the show floor - including Dungeon Siege III, Dungeons And Dragons: Daggerdale, Alice: The Madness Returns, Duke Nukem Forever, Final Fantasy III, 4 Elements and of course, Brian's update on how many hours he's put into Persona 4. Our Care/Don't Care segment goes commando with an all-E3 focus, which is also our main topic.  I will say that our talk went on a bit with the sheer number of topics that presented themselves from E3. Alice Is Launched Into That Returning Madness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 5th of June 2011 - 04:13 AM ]
Kind of weird that we are just under two weeks away from Alice: Madness Returns hitting shelves and we are getting a Launch Trailer. Not that it isn't appreciated, but I would expect a bit more hyping and teasing from EA before getting what is usually considered the last trailer before DLC type trailers. That is their usual motive when it comes to their PR department isn't it? Or is it only with games that are probably not going to do so well? Read More...

Alice Shows How The Madness Turned Into Hysteria
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 27th of May 2011 - 11:06 PM ]
It has been a while since I've played the original Alice but I really don't remember the combat to be as fast paced as the below clip for Alice Madness Returns shows. Not that I will complain because I remember that being an issue when I first played the original. It just seems like they twisted every part of the original just as much as the mind of Alice in the first place. Hmm… Maybe that is why… Or it could just be to appease the console players out there. Continuing down that rabbit hole, another interesting addition the game play looks to be the Hysteria mode. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 14th of March 2011 - 10:54 PM ]
After waiting two hours in line at the booth for The Darkness II my friend and I finally made it in to get our grimy little hands on the demo. We were the last batch of the day and the seven of us were ushered into the heavily guarded and boxed in booth. Inside it was dark with black lights and heavy, clear curtains dividing the actually play area from the main section. The creepy ambiance and The Darkness occasionally chiming in reminding us of its evil and demonic intentions set the mood for this sequel; Dark, Grim and Scary. Before we were able to play the actual game the Producer, Seth, gathered us around and told us that there are twelve screenshots out right now and if there happens to be a thirteenth one there is going to be hell to pay. Finally Some Game Play From Alice: Madness Returns
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 8th of March 2011 - 12:16 AM ]
I'm not saying that all those teasers or pre-rendered trailers were not fun, but I wanted some of the nuts and bolts for Alice: Madness Returns. It looks like patience has finally paid off in this area as we now have a glimpse at how the game will handle once it hits store shelves and in turn our hands. Like I said, FINALLY! Moving on, I will say that it looks like Alice is definitely taking a more action packed role in this one. Read More...

The Twisted Art Of Alice: Madness Returns
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of March 2011 - 04:29 PM ]
Looks like Alice fans won't have to wait too much longer to get a glimpse at the upcoming Alice: Madness Returns. You can cut the time down by about a month or so. That is if you are kosher with taking a book of concept art as your early look at the game. Not to mention shell out $35 for said book of concept art being put together by Dark Horse. Yea, I know I got you all excited and then a little let down. On May 11th you can look to find this book of twisted art for sale and purchase. Read More...
