In the pursuit of making games 100% immersive there are an ass ton of gadgets, gizmos and displays to make you feel truly in the middle of the action. That is what the whole motion controller craze and revitalization of 3D is all about isn't it? So here we are again, apparently only a few months after the events of Portal (assumed from in-game interactions). Still trapped in Aperture Science. Still being tested. But importantly, Still Alive. Alive and needing a final escape from the insane AI running the facility that is now hell-bent on enacting revenge for what Chell did in the first game. Falling To Your Death Issue Has Been Solved In Portal 2

Doesn't it bug you in games when non-supernatural heroes or villains can fall from hundreds of feet and survive without rhyme or reason? Or for that matter, falling 20 feet almost kills them out right. It is a mix between realism and game play that designers have to take into account. Do you forgo realism in a major way for game play sake or do you try to fake it? Mix in the ability to portal hundreds of feet into the air, sometimes on accident, and now you have a real issue. Finally A Twisted Metal Release Date

It only took a little under a year, but we now have a release date and a pretty awesome trailer for Twisted Metal. All I have to say right off the bat; WELL WORTH THE WAIT. At least worth the wait for the trailer as we still have to wait until October 4th for the game. But at least we get to have the fun media frenzy to look forward to and most likely a few demos at conventions and on the PSN. The trailer doesn't show all too much of the game but a few scenes from the live action films and slight game play but at least we have been promised some more info here this week. What this could be is anyone's guess, but I'm sure it will be only the start of the forth coming avalanche of info and visuals. Read More...

It's Time For Mortal Kombat!

It is official. Mortal Kombat has gone gold. We no longer have to worry about major delays or cancelations. Not that we were at all. It is no Duke Nukem Forever or anything. Am I right? Huh? Huh…? Cutting Wires And Fisticuffs In Battlefield 3

So here we go with the third "episode" of game play trailers for Battlefield 3. This time it would seem a basic "disarm a bomb" task goes a little awry and turns into an all out shoot and destroy everything mission. Who would have thought that following a wire into an enemy "hideout" would turn into such madness and violence? I do have to say that out of all of these clips, this one impresses me the most with visuals. The immersion factor, even for just being a video, was cranked up because of the lighting and textures of the vents and underground room. Read More...

The Unofficial Character Roster For Mortal Kombat

Duke Nukem Delayed Again: Much Shorter This Time

Duke Nukem Forever being delayed again is like a nerd with a pocket protector - you know the joke, everyone knows the joke and the best you can muster is a half-hearted smile in one corner of your mouth in recognition the joke even existed. So, the fact 2K and Gearbox went with a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the announcement shows a true effort in good faith to the game and the franchise as a whole. Prey 2 Live Action Trailer

Bethesda Softworks announced this week Prey 2, and the teaser will make you think twice about putting your cell phone on airplane mode. Prey, which was released back in July of 2006, was originally developed by Human Head Studios. Prey followed the sci-fi adventures of Cherokee Domasi "Tommy" Tawodi. The general story was that he, along with Girlfriend and Grandfather, were beamed up to an alien ship known only as The Sphere. Here Comes Episode 2 Of The Battlefield 3 Fault Line Series

Man, if the title of these shorts for Battlefield 3 had not been set to Fault Line before the natural disaster in Japan I would say, "Way to piggy back off the suffering of others EA." But that is not the case as the previous "episode" came out two weeks ago. Way to dodge that huge insensitivity, am I right?1 Continuing on… Here we have a bit more of the game play for Battlefield 3 and this time the soldiers are dodging a sniper. The E.Nigmas Of Batman: Arkham City

In Batman: Arkham Asylum the Riddler had kind of a small role, even though it was one of the larger side missions in the game. It makes sense when you think about the fact that he didn't physically show up at all in the game. This looks like something that Rocksteady is going to be changing when it comes to Arkham City.
