The Walking Dead from Telltale has been out for some time now for every device with one of the most recent being the PS Vita. Now I know what you are thinking "is there a reason I should get the game again?" Well with the PS Vita comes a few extra hardware additions that just were not available on the console or PC so let's dig in and see if your third or fourth play through will be worth it on Sony's handheld device. In case you missed out on the basics of the game, such as story, feel free to check out our original review of the console version to get caught up. Hated One of the bigger features for this version of The Walking Dead was the ability to use the touch screen to interact with the game. Read More...

New Mode For Batman: Arkham Origins Gives Batman One Chance To Survive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of October 2013 - 09:50 PM ]
Good news for all you gamers out there who crave an extra challenge with your games. It has been announced that Batman: Arkham Origins will have a new difficulty mode called "I Am The Night" mode. This mode will only unlock after you have beaten the game not once, but twice. You complete the game once, I am assuming to unlock the second to hardest mode, and then complete the game again on New Game Plus mode. Once this is done you will have access to this new "nightmarish" mode. What make this mode stand apart? Read More...

You Can Binge Watch Mortal Kombat Legacy Season 2, But Do You Want To?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of October 2013 - 03:52 PM ]
Earlier this year we got a trailer and a few details about the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I was not overly impressed. Now the time has come and we have the full season available to watch. I have and am still not impressed at all. Again this feels like a simple milking of the franchise and nothing more. If you don't believe me or think you might have a different opinion on the quality of the web series you can watch all ten episodes below. It makes me sad to know that an original idea that happened three years ago spawned just another telling of the same story we have heard a hundred and one times already. Read More...

Can We ‘Quiet’ Down And Focus On The Drama Surrounding Metal Gear Solid V?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of September 2013 - 10:35 PM ]
I want to start off this whole thing with a nice quote from the amazing film Orgazmo. Take a look before I go into the bulk of what I want to talk about in this posting about the "over sexualization" in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V and comments made my Kojima. Just in case you skipped the clip, I don't know why you would have, it is pretty much how I feel about this whole "Sexy up" the characters in the game drama all over the internet. If you haven't heard this yet, doubtful, there was a huge splash made when Hideo Kojima spoke about making the characters in MGSV more erotic in hopes to get cosplayers and figurines of the game all over every convention. This is paraphrased mind you, but that is the short and dirty version. Read More...

Hey Look At That, The Xbox One Has A Release Date
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of September 2013 - 08:58 PM ]
Just as I pondered and hypothesized a little while back, looks like we are getting the Xbox One on November 22nd this year. Just in time to get the bulk of the day one consoles out the door and on eBay to prey on the parents of demanding kids during Black Friday sales. If memory serves this is what Nintendo and Sony did back in 2006. The only difference being that Sony flooded the market with PS3s right around the same time screwing a lot of those capitalists out of a big payoff. I knew quite a few people that fell plague to this and I was glad. Read More...

Review: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of September 2013 - 09:17 PM ]
Well this has been a long time coming since we got our first look years ago at E3 but The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has finally hit the streets. For a while there I was a little scared it wouldn't be coming out given the focus on other titles and a whole different game in the same franchise. But here we go. Does it still hold up to what was shown and/or promised way back when we had our little showcasing? Well let us see. Read More...

Titanfall Gamescom Demo Is A Little Too Mirror's Edge-like
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of August 2013 - 04:52 PM ]
I am sure that everyone has seen the following Titanfall trailer straight out of Gamescom last week. If not, then take a gander below. I am still trying to get excited for the game myself, slowly but surely, but I am starting to notice more and more of the "Free Running" aspect that was glossed over before and seems to be a key element to missions and survival. In earlier demos and showcasing this feature kind of seemed like a nice little extra to get to specific places on the map. This could be just what I took away from it all as I watched but, like I said, it is looking more or a key player… a star if you will. Read More...

Shadow Of The Beast Looks Re-Imagined As Another God Of War
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 09:45 PM ]
A little history lesson here. Back in the very late 80's and early 90's there was a game called Shadow Of The Beast that also spawned two sequels. Lesson over. Now in the coming year(s) here we are getting a "Re-Imagining" of the game exclusively on the PlayStation 4. That is really the all the information that has been announced so far outside of the following teaser trailer. Not even a developer and I think it is safe to assume that Sony will be publishing it, but who knows. So let's sit back and speculate based on what we get to see here. Read More...

Burning Down Gotham With The New Batman: Arkham Origins Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of August 2013 - 07:28 PM ]
With the below trailer straight out of Gamescom, we are up to five of the eight assassins hunting Batman in Arkham Origins now. There are still loads of other villains, NPCs and sidekicks announced as well, but now we can add Firefly to the list of killers. Also it looks like there might be some pretty damn cool fight/flight scenes mixed in with this new character as well. Keep an eye out in the trailer and you'll most likely see what I am talking about. Also keep an eye out in case you missed all of the other villains and NPCs that have been announced thus far as they are all interwoven into this pretty bad ass trailer. Read More...

Dead Rising 3's New Trailer Shows The Real Tone Of The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2013 - 11:16 PM ]
Just in case you were still worried about the overall tone of Dead Rising 3 still being "too serious" and you've missed all the Twitter chatter about the game still having its light hearted side, then do I have a trailer for you. The new Gamescom trailer for DR3 is out and from what I saw at SDCC for the game, this is more the tone that Capcom is going for. I'll let you take a watch in peace for now. Yes it was all CG, but from the gameplay I've been shown, the levity of it all is captured perfectly here and, as seen, still carries over from its predecessors. Read More...

So Dead Island: Epidemic Was Announced. Here's What We Know
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of August 2013 - 06:16 PM ]
So with Techland working on Dying Light it kind of surprises me to hear about Dead Island: Epidemic. Just how do they have the time? Oh wait a second…they aren't working on this. Also this is a ZOMBA title for the PC. That makes a bit more sense now even though it does lower my interest a little bit. While we have been promised more as we roll into Gamescom, here are all the details release outside of the game's genre. Obviously it is set in the world of Dead Island and Riptide. Read More...

What's The Good News From SDCC For Batman: Arkham Origins?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. I guess it is more about getting the information out to the public directly and not through the filtered lenses of the media. Who knows? While I don't think much was shown on the floor or during their panel, there were a few little tidbits and a new trailer shown for the latest assassin, Copperhead, hunting The Bat. Read More...

Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year.
