If you missed the first Battlefield Hardline beta then fret not as we are getting another one sometime between now and March 17th. That is kind of all we know about this latest beta announcement as the blog posting and press release talking about it don't detail much more. Well outside of it being open for all to give a whirl on any platform that Battlefield Hardline is going to be coming to. Also that that there will be no crazy requirements to sign up or special codes. I guess that should be conveyed in Open Beta but I added it for those who may not be in the know.
This all comes from Steve Papoutsis (General Manager, Visceral Games and Executive Producer, Battlefield Hardline) via the game's blog. Mr. Papoutsis went on to say:
While it's just a taste of the whole game (Battlefield Hardline), we want you to come in, take your jacket off, stay a while. There won't be a cap on the max progression level so whether you're busting criminals or fleeing the cops, unlock away. We want you to play this Battlefield Hardline beta to death. We need you to. This test is only going to make the game stronger, and help us take a look at ways we can ensure we deliver the most stable launch you deserve. We'll see you on the streets of Battlefield Hardline soon. |
So I read this and I don't directly read Battlefield Hardline beta. I won't deny that there won't be a beta but a beta is different than a server stress test. This is generally why you open up multiplayer betas that way you know that the game won't crash on day one when everyone logs in to play Battlefield Hardline online. I don't blame them for using the easier reference to the test but it is one of those things that don't sit well with me. I'll go back to focusing on the fact that we will be getting to play Battlefield Hardline online a little earlier than normal and that we all get to play. None of this one company paying a fee and making it all exclusive to their console bullshit. Looking at you Evolve and 2K.
We'll update you all as soon as we know when the Battlefield Hardline beta will be kicking off. As of now this is all we know and have a few new screen shots of the maps that we will all be playing in sometime between now and March 17th.
