Marvel Ultimate Confusion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 6th of July 2009 - 06:01 PM ]
Activision Enlists Gamers To Join The Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 VIP Community No, the confusion isn't on Activision or Raven's side of things, but more on mine and anyone else that may have sat in on the media briefing for this game. Let me explain. While being shown the game, we were all informed of one of the new characters to be revealed as a playable character. The Juggernaut. We were also shown how he can use fusion powers with everyone of the announced characters as well. Read More...

Rocking It Green With Mayhem
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of July 2009 - 04:23 PM ]
Rock Band DLC for 7/7/09 So with great tracks from Sponge Bob, iCarly, and The Naked Brothers rocking out the DLC for Rock Band, it makes me wonder how Harmonix is going to out rock that. Maybe some Hanna Montana. Maybe a little more Earth Wind and Fire. Somehow work in Flo Rida. But then then go and out and make it so my bank account will get sapped again with some awesomeness. They are slapping all those down with the addition of Green Day to the selection of music to download for the game. Not only Green Day, but Manson, Canibal Corpse, and Slayer to punt kick all those earlier mentioned artists in the Game Box. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 1st of July 2009 - 03:14 PM ]
Starcraft II Beta Tech Tree Hey all you Starcraft fans out there! Or, if anything, people out there that want to play the game right now but obviously do not have access to the games Beta build. Do you want a look at what might be the branch of technology for the game early? Well then if you haven't gone below, and skipped my used car salesman words, then we have screen shots of just that. That being the Tech Tree for the three factions of Starcraft II. Now mind you, these are still early shots and things could change. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Daredevil)
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 1st of July 2009 - 07:11 AM ]
Matt Murdock was born the son of former Heavyweight boxer “Battling Jack” Murdock. Growing up in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, Matt learned from his father the importance of education. His father wanted nothing more than for his son to get ahead in life using his brain rather than his fists. Matt’s nobility was no more evident than on the fateful day where he saved a blind man from being run over by a truck carrying radioactive material. The waste managed to fall from the truck, partly splashing into Matt’s eyes. Though it blinded him, Matt’s other senses were heightened to superhuman levels. Read More...

WoW Turncoats On The Way
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of June 2009 - 04:33 PM ]
WoW Faction-Change Service in the Works When I first started playing World of Warcraft, I chose the Horde side of things. Big surprise with the Horde having undead huh? But, all of the real world people I knew who played loved the Alliance side of things for some reason. Which left me either having to worry about leveling two toons, forcing them to try Horde, or giving in and being bored with the Alliance. Didn't make it good for my continuation of the game. Things may be changing now. Read More...

Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires Review
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 30th of June 2009 - 03:23 PM ]
It’s been close to a year and a half since Koei released the original Dynasty Warriors 6, which did, well very little to change the Dynasty Warriors formula. Thankfully the creation of the Empires spin-off games have added some much needed depth to the original games. Primarily Empires adds a fairly deep level of strategy as you take on the role of either a Ruler or an Officer. The two sides generally play the same as your overall objective is to capture enemy territories and control all of China. As an Officer though, you’ll have a little less freedom than playing as a Ruler. Read More...

All thing Blizzard! No support for LAN?
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of June 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
How did StarCraft become so popular when the game first came out? Well that's simple. It was because Blizzard made it easy for everyone to have LAN parties. Well that is not the case with StarCraft II according to incgamers.com as they interviewed VP of Game Design Rob Pardo of Blizzard. Pardo stated, "We don't have any plans to support LAN." Then flat out said, "we will not support it and only multiplayer available will be on Battle.net. Read More...

Mark Jacobs Leaves EA, Puts BioWare in charge
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 25th of June 2009 - 03:14 PM ]
Looks like EA is forming a new group specifically focusing on RPG and MMO games. What this new group will be called has not yet to have been announced. Of course with a creation of a new group that means there will be some shifting of power and responsibility. Mark Jacobs was the co-founder and general manager of Mythic and left EA on June 23rd 2009. Mark was not only a general manager but also a lead designer on Warhammer Online and Dark Age of Camelot! Mark will be replaced by Ray Muzyka who is the co-founder and general manager of the all powerful BioWare. Read More...

ZeniMax Media Inc Acquires id Software
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 25th of June 2009 - 06:16 AM ]
ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda, of Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls fame, has purchased id Software, of Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake, and Commander Keen fame. The move was surprising, as more people have been questioning who was going to buy Midway rather than who was going to buy id. Daily operations won't change at id Software, “No changes will be made in the operations of id Software in the development of its games. id Software will continue to operate as a studio under the direction of its founder, John Carmack.” Soothing news to those following the development of id's next AAA game, Rage. Finally The Original Fantasy
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of June 2009 - 10:24 PM ]
Final Fantasy on PSN Soon As if there hasn't been enough awesome Final Fantasy going about the interwebs since E3, Square-Enix drops some more good news for all of the FFFreaks (F3 from now on). Not as cool as a full on remake of FFVI for the PS3, or FFVII remake either, but today on the Japanese PSN "the game that launched a billion spin offs" was made available. I'm talking the original Final Fantasy. The PSOne upgrade version at that. Read More...

Shoot Dice With Your WiiMote On The Vegas Strip
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of June 2009 - 06:19 PM ]
Las Vegas Casino Party Announced Just incase Mario Party was not good enough for the family, or the family wants to get their kids hooked on gambling, buffets, and hookers early, a new party game for the Wii has been announced today. One that strikes home with me oh so well. Pun intended. Las Vegas Casino Party is that game. From the description of the game, it sounds just like the above mentioned Mario Party titles. You get ten stereotypes of Las Vegas gamblers to move around a game board, for some reason, to move from casinos to casino playing the classic games of old Vegas. Read More...

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Ultimate Character Reveal (Wolverine)
by Jesse [ Tuesday, 23rd of June 2009 - 09:43 PM ]
Born more than a century ago in Canada, James Howlett has overcome numerous ordeals in the path to becoming Wolverine. In his time James, more commonly known as Logan, has taken part in many conflicts including World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. He learned much as a soldier and even more when he became a spy for the CIA some years later. Besides his time spent as a soldier and a spy, Logan has spent an extensive amount of timing training in various martial arts. He became a master of many forms of armed and unarmed combat, but above all it was his training as a samurai that helped keep his feral nature in check and define his own personal code of honor. XIV Before XIII?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 22nd of June 2009 - 09:47 PM ]
Possible Beta Schedule For Final Fantasy XIV Let me say this here: This is speculation based on career board finding and nothing official. The same goes for any site that isn't as courteous as Aggrogamer to state this. Now that is out of the way. One of the big shockers at E3 this year was the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV Online. At least as far as the Sony briefing went. But it looks like there might be something else out there to excite and entice fans of all things Square-Enix. Read More...
