Jurassic: The Hunted Is Not The 5th Jurassic Park Film
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 18th of October 2009 - 02:39 PM ]
So what is this game then if it isn't the next IP for the Jurassic Park franchise? Pretty much another dinosaur shooter style game with one major twist that others do not have. What would this twist be? Not that you are another space marine traveled through time and space and ends up in a jurassic era, but that you are a "normalish" adventurer and weapons master. That and you have been transported back in time with loads of ammo and weapons to hunt and kill the monstrous and angry dinosaurs of the jurassic era, via the Bermuda Triangle. Yep, that's right. Mass Effect 2 Gets Dated
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 18th of October 2009 - 04:36 AM ]
Mass Effect 2 now has a solid release date: January 26, 2010. While it's anybody's guess whether or not it actually comes out that day, it can be safe to assume that EA would be idiots to announce such a specific release date then push it back (again). Then again, we've all seen stranger things. The game, which is a direct sequel to 2007's Mass Effect, still features commander Shepard, who for some reason has lost all his abilities from the first game, trying to figure out why large colonies of humans are mysteriously vanishing (geth maybe?) The game will take place 2 years after the first Mass Effect (and was originally supposed to be released 2 years after as well, but who wants to go up against Modern Warfare 2). The game will utilize your save-data from the first game, converting any decisions you may have made for better or for worse. Read More…

Oh The Brütality Of Assassin's Creed 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 17th of October 2009 - 04:17 PM ]
The combat in the first Assassin's Creed was nothing to write home to mom about. You had the few weapons and the few stances and moves you could employ. You couldn't even use you hidden blades for anything other assassinations and counter moves. It just wasn't all that extravagant. This was something that Ubisoft definitely wanted to fix. That and the variety of guards that you had to take down to move about the game world. Something I know I wished for when going through the first play through. Read More…

God Of War Looks Even More Bad Ass
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 11:14 PM ]
Just under a month away from the release of the God of War Compilation and we still have not yet seen any of the solid gameplay and visuals. Well outside of a pirated, cell phone camera clip from GamesCon. Something that was burring and full of Parkinson Cam style shot. So we couldn't really judge if the upgrade will be worth shelling out the cash for the two games again. Although it is less than the price of a single BluRay game, and you do get two full games for that price. But for fans that are not as into this game as me, will the trophies and graphic be enough to drop $39. Read More…

When Aliens & Predators Fight, It Sucks To Be Human
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of October 2009 - 08:52 PM ]
Being a lowly space marine seems like the worst thing to be in Aliens Vs. Predator. Just by watching the trailer down below, you get a great sense that most people will only play the Human portion if they are in for a challenge or an Achievement/Trophy whore. I mean come on, the human they show through out the clip is scared poopless the entire clip. To the point where it begs the question right? Then again, I'd be the same way if I was a lowly space marine going up against a retardababy, advanced race of space hunters or even a ridiculously agile and stealthy race of creatures that bleed acid. DJ Hero Renegade 2-CD Pack-in Track List Released
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 15th of October 2009 - 03:49 PM ]
Yesterday, Activision released the track listing for the bonus 2-CD pack of Jay-Z and Eminem for the DJ Hero Renegade Edition. As a person who is readily suspicious of special editions and collector's edition, I had my doubts about DJ Hero's special pack-in when I saw that the jump in price from the regular edition was 80 US Dollars. With Wednesday's track listing release for the big addition to the original product and what exactly it will be, it really begs the question if what you're getting is worth the price of admission. Looking at Gamestop's web listing for DJ Hero Renegade Edition, you get: DJ Hero Renegade Edition Includes the following items: DJ Hero Game Renegade Turntable Controller featuring premium metal controls and finish Hardshell Turntable Carrying Case that converts to performance-ready DJ stand Exclusive JAY-Z and EMINEM 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks and collectible case designed by artist Shepard Fairey Looking at the track listing of the 2-CD set and being a fan, albeit not a huge stalker-level fan, I was really impressed at what is being included especially a brand new track. Yesterday Runic Games announced that Torchlight will be available day one on Steam. Making a big splash at E3 and then at PAX, Torchlight has been winning hearts and minds with its intuitive and fun playstyle. We here at AggroGamer have been big fans from the beginning, and the announcement of a day one addition to Steam seals the deal. Bottom line, this is a great move for the folks over at Runic. Steam is a fantastic platform for distribution. Read More…

by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 14th of October 2009 - 04:00 PM ]
Nintendo is by far the most kid-friendly system company, but how does is stack up against other things that kids love? A recent study done by Smarty Pants that tested “brand awareness, popularity, and love” of various brands among kids in 2009 puts Nintendo right at the top. Nintendo, which for some reason counts as 2 different brands, takes the top 2 spots: Nintendo Wii Ninendo DS Oreos McDonald's M&M's Doritos Nickelodeon Kraft Macaroni&Cheese Cheetos Disney Other game related brands that make the list:     14. Sony Playstation     31. Sony PSP     42. Read More…

I Think Splatterhouse Could Use More Gore
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of October 2009 - 01:25 PM ]
Wow, it's hard to believe it has been over 20 years since the original Splatterhouse came out in arcades and then ported to the TurboGrafx 16. It was only thought to be remade by BottleRocket Entertainment earlier this year. Now it is all being handled by Namco Bandai Games who took on a few of the collapsed developer. But that is a different tale altogether. This one is all about how things have been progressing for Splatterhouse since the shift. Read More…

by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 13th of October 2009 - 08:19 PM ]
As previously announced by the Dragon Age: Origins team, the character builder is finally available for download Here. After spending many hours with this game demo at Comic-con this year, and finally getting to see what I am going to make my "first character" look like is quite exciting. It's a little taste of things to come. Players who download the Character Builder will be able to select everything from Gender to Class and see the talent trees we will have to choose from. I must warn you though, the guys over at Dragon Age really outdid themselves this time. Read More…

Review: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 12th of October 2009 - 07:39 PM ]
Here we go again with the new age Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider game that we all loved, quite literally, 2 years ago. Only this time, it's a different artifact being tracked and a new villain for Drake and friends to out smart. All of it has a very epic, action film taste to it. Evading guards, traversing a modern warfare and running through the snow in Tibet make for a great adventure along with a very witty and humorous feel mixed in. Now we've all heard and seen the hype for this game. It was selected as Best of Show at E3 this year and is already slated to capture best game of the year. Read More…
