Resident Evil 6's Release Date Pushed Forward
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of April 2012 - 04:38 PM ]
It's not often that something like this happens, but it looks like we will be getting Resident Evil 6 over a month earlier than originally announced. Not only that, but recently at Captivate we also got a whole slew of new visuals and a bit more on the story of the game. Don't believe me? Look below and you will see an awesome new trailer for the game. You will also get to find out that Wesker is still kind of kicking it in the RE universe in the form all parents can be immortal. Yes, read that as you will meet his kid. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Double Dragon Neon
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 12th of April 2012 - 04:39 PM ]
On the floor of PAX East was a small booth that had a pillar like set up with four different games. One of those games was hidden away from the casual viewing eye. That game was Double Dragon Neon, an upcoming XBLA game that not only impressed me with its beautiful art style, but also its nostalgic atmosphere. I know the audio quality is not the best, but hopefully you guys can understand everything. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: The Secret World
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 09:26 PM ]
During the hectic weekend at PAX I got a chance to check out The Secret World, the new MMO from Funcom. I sadly didn't get any play time due to interviews and my horrible memory. But I do have a video for you guys, so please enjoy. The Secret World comes out for PC on June 19th, 2012 developed by Funcom and published by EA. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Borderlands 2
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 04:17 PM ]
Borderlands 2 is a massive improvement from the first installment. The controls are super smooth and tight. The feeling of level grinding seems to have disappeared, thankfully. Having other colors in the game, rather than just brown, has really showed off the rich and beautiful landscape that the world of Pandora has to offer. I got to play as the new Siren in the game: Maya. Her special ability stuns her enemies in a blackish purple vortex allowing you to get off some free shots. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Spec Ops: The Line
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 09:48 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out a little bit of the single player campaign for Spec Ops: The Line, and had a great interview with one of the developers. I really enjoyed the demo at PAX East. It was very smooth and had responsive controls. There events where you had a chance to negotiate with your enemies, but if things went sour you had to reap the consequences. For instance one group of enemies had a hostage and was threatening to kill him. Instead of waiting for them to assassinate him, I made a quick decision to kill the enemies and save my team mate's life. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Aliens: Colonial Marines
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 05:28 PM ]
I had the privilege to speak with the senior producer of Aliens: Colonial Marines at PAX East over the weekend. They were also giving a demo of the Multiplayer. The Multiplayer was very team oriented and forced you to work together to defeat your opponents. The only mode we played was Team Deathmatch. The marines would all huddle around each other and pick off the Xenomorphs as they tried to separate the marines. One on one a marine has a very high chance of losing to a Xenomorph mainly due to its "pounce" ability. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Wreckateer
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 10:28 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out Microsoft's Kinect for the first time ever, and the first game I played on it was Wreckateer. Wreckateer is an XBLA game that revolves all around destroying castles (hey, who doesn't love wrecking stuff?) The plot behind destroying castles is that you are a part of a demolition crew who is hired by the king to destroy abandoned and unwanted castles that have been overrun by goblins. Stepping forward and putting your hands together loads up the catapult, as you step back the catapult draws back, the more you move backwards the more powerful the shot. You then spread your arms apart and the shot takes off. Read More…

PAX East Hands-On: Lollipop Chainsaw
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 04:36 PM ]
During PAX East I got to get some playtime with Lollipop Chainsaw and interviewed the legendary Suda 51. Lollipop Chainsaw had some very smooth and tight controls, chaining attacks between kicking and swinging the chainsaw was simple enough to button mash if you wish, but at the same time complex enough to satisfy those who frown upon the mashing of buttons. The demo started off in a farm-like area, where some good ol' zombies popped up and begged for me to slay them (not really, but I could tell they were asking for it). Every time zombies pop up there is a counter on-screen that tells you exactly how many are there and need to kill. Read More…

Aggrocast Episode Ninety Five: We're Mad As Hell
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 4th of April 2012 - 04:37 PM ]
…and we're not gonna take it anymore. That may only be slightly paraphrasing the movie Network, but then again, we're gamers, so we'll probably continue to "take it." We're hoping you take and enjoy our latest episode of the Aggrocast as Corey, Brian and Matt talk about the latest news, including the recent announcement for Amazon Instant Video on PS3. The guys also talk about their latest adventures in gaming - including World of Warcraft, iPad games, SNES games, Wheels of Destruction and Mass Effect 2. Our Community Spotlight this week focuses on our support for Aggrogamer's own Chief Editor, David Becker, as he attempts to break gender-stereotypes and win the Maxim Gamer Girl contest. Read More…

This BioShock Infinite Heavy Hitter Is Screaming For Vengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of March 2012 - 09:23 PM ]
Here we go with the final "Heavy Hitter" for BioShock Infinite. Yep, the fourth and final that they are revealing as a hardcore enemy that is just below sub-boss and above mook in the game. We've gone over the Motorized Patriot, the Handyman and the Boys of Silence so far. Now we get to look at the Siren. Sounds kind of nice at first, then you find out that she essentially a healer that can resurrect all of the enemies you've already killed with but a scream. I'm not sure if this is going to be one of those creatures that inspire the panic to kill right away or just plain get annoying after killing everything in a room only to have her bring them all back. Looks Like The Assassin's Creed III "Collector's Edition" Has Been Outed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of March 2012 - 10:24 PM ]
Well more the "collector's edition" and I'm guessing its not so expesive younger siblings as well. Looks like we will have a few choices to make when it comes to pre-ordering or out right buying when it comes to Assassin's Creed III. There are three different "editions" of the game for us to spend out hard earned money on. As usual there is a "Special Edition" that will most likely just be a fancy way of saying "here's a free upgrade for being a fan but not really because anyone can just buy it." Then there are the two others that have quite a bit of extra meat to them. Read More…

What's The Deal With Online Passes?
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 10:57 PM ]
Online Passes are apparently the new "Gaming Fad" even thought the majority of us gamers really dislike the over abundance of these online passes, especially when companies like EA are already starting to show some sketchy business models towards online passes. I'm going to be one-hundred percent honest: I fucking hate online passes and here are some reasons why: Online Passes are a new and "pricey" way to battle online piracy and used game sales, the latter being a joke in my opinion. A simple one use serial code that is required for access to certain online content such as Multiplayer and Co-op modes, or unlocks bonus content for a game. Although certain games such as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Batman: Arkham City require an online pass even though they are single player games and withhold on disc game content from the consumer if an online pass is not purchased. LittleBigPlanet Karting Now Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of March 2012 - 04:07 PM ]
Well it only took a little over a month, but LittleBigPlanet Karting can now be considered announced. It has a new trailer and screens to say so as well even though it was pretty much "leaked" a while back. I know…I know… But when we all first heard about the game and saw the first images it was outside the pre-defined PR timeline for when it was to be truly announced. That is now. Ok, so we all knew it was coming for a while now but at least we do get a nice new trailer and a few screens to show off the game and where it is in production. Read More…

Finally Some Game Play For The Walking Dead Video Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
We recently were given a look at The Walking Dead's game play via Telltale's debut trailer but it wasn't much more than a few seconds. A few seconds of very little compared to what the latest episode of Playing Dead has to show us. While the episode is about 15 minutes long, if you jump to the 7 minute mark you will get a glimpse at about 3 minutes of the game. Spoiler, it looks like it handles just as one would expect from Telltale. Take a watch. Read More…

Let's Start Speculating On These New Assassin Creed III Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 05:58 AM ]
For a game all about staying stealthy it sure cannot keep its hidden news, well, hidden. A group of six new screen shots for Assassin's Creed III have made their way onto the internet and thus into the hands of everyone with some form of online connection. All I have to say is that these images most likely were meant to roll out with some new info of the game. So with that said, let's speculate on what these screen shots mean outside of showing how the new game engine is leaps and bounds over the past ones. So let's see. Read More…
