Aggrogamer E3 Recap for June 2nd
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of June 2009 - 03:58 PM ]
So day 2 has come and gone for E3 and it was a day ranging from dull to exciting. We saw what Nintendo had to offer, as well as Sony, and finally got to hit the showroom floor to start looking at all the titles. First we all had the chance to attend the Nintendo press conference and they showed off mostly what we've come to expect, which is plenty of casual games aimed towards a broader audience. Which is exactly why the slogan this year was "Everybody's Game". With titles like Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Style Savvy, and James Patterson's Women's Murder Club: Games Of Passion, it is easy to see that they are truly trying to reach every demographic. Sony PSP Go! Confirmed
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 31st of May 2009 - 04:31 AM ]
Remember that rumor that started about a month or so ago that nobody thought was true at all? Well everything (including the Gran Turismo Mobile bit) just got confirmed in one of the most unlikeliest of ways. June's episode of QORE got leaked to the internet much to the dismay of the coordinator of the Sony E3 press briefing, which confirmed the existence of the PSP Go. Boasting a 16gb hard drive, bluetooth, memory card expansion slot, and shedding the UMD slot, the PSP Go looks to be more of a competitor of the iPhone/iPod Touch rather than the DS or it's big brother, of whom it will share the spotlight (Sony will continue to make the 3000). While no mention was made of the PS3 Slim, it is all but certain that the rumors of that are legit as well. Read More...

Greatest Hits Round 2
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 28th of May 2009 - 04:19 PM ]
Do you smell it? It’s going to be all over the place. It’s the PS3's newest additions to the greatest hits library, all of which will be priced at $29.99 and on shelves by June 16th. Here is the list: Army of Two, EA (March 4, 2008) Battlefield: Bad Company, EA (June 23, 2008) Devil May Cry 4, Capcom (February 5, 2008) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, SCEA (April 15, 2008) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Konami (June 12, 2008) Ratchet&Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, SCEA (October 23, 2007) So I really have questions about this list, as in where is Heavenly Sword, and what about Uncharted? Yes, the games listed above are valid and have the right to be a part of the Greatest Hits library, but some of the titles are not even a year old yet. Now they are already part of the Greatest Hit library? Read More...

Final PSP?
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 15th of May 2009 - 10:12 AM ]
All those rumors about the PSP Go, all those rumors about a UMD-free PSP, and all those rumors about Sony announcing a new PSP at E3. Well it seems Sony is not finished with the current version of the PSP, as they are going to release a new bundle PSP with Dissidia: Final Fantasy. If you do not know by now, Dissidia: Final Fantasy is not another Final Fantasy RPG, but rather a Final Fantasy fighting game (no it is not another Ehrgeiz) and will include the main characters from all of the Final Fantasy titles in this game. Packaged in the bundle, you will get a “Mystic Silver” PSP-3000 system, Dissidia: Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children UMD, and a 2GB Memory Stick Duo. I know most of you will hate this part, but this bundle will only be a Gamestop exclusive. Read More...

Playstation 3 2.76 Software Update = Live
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 14th of May 2009 - 06:41 AM ]
So the inFamous compatibility 2.76 update for the PS3 "improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software. and you will no longer have to restart a game to display trophies after a hard drive upgrade or if you restore from the backup" (like we do that SO much). The software update is most likely aimed at issues that arose during the testing of inFamous, the new game coming from Sucker Punch. GO DOWNLOAD IT NOW WOOOT! *missing from the update is the ability to do cross-game invitations, cross-game microphone chatting, or anything that makes playing a game as easy as XBOX Live. by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 10th of May 2009 - 01:25 PM ]
If you haven’t heard by now there is another video game movie in the works. And this time it’s for Gears of War (chainsaw FTW). Chris Morgan, who has written such movies as Fast and Furious and Wanted, just wrapped up the script for the upcoming movie and now they are looking for a cast. He is looking for his main actor to play Marcus Fenix, and while others are thinking of actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, or maybe Chuck Norris. That is not the case for Chris, as he is actually thinking about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play Marcus Fenix. Chris Morgan told MTV, “The Rock is awesome. Read More...

Name change please?
by Binh Nguyen [ Sunday, 26th of April 2009 - 08:11 PM ]
Ever thought about changing your name? I have. Ever thought about changing your name to your favorite video game character? No I haven’t? Well a 6 year old Norwegian boy did, and here is what happened. This is according to a Norwegian newspaper and dagbladet.no. Last year Christer wrote a letter to the King asking for his name to be changed to Sonic X. That’s right he wanted his name to be Sonic X, do not know why but he did. His parents did not want to send out the letter but once Christer asked why the King hasn’t replied to his request to change his name. Read More...

Kratos Demands Your Help
by Jesse [ Thursday, 16th of April 2009 - 07:32 AM ]
Though the release of one of Sony’s most anticipated titles is still months away, that doesn’t mean that fans don’t have a reason to be excited. An email sent out by Sony links people to a survey asking 4 questions regarding what they want to see in a possible Collector’s Edition of God of War III. Questions 1&2 are simply “Do you own a PS3?” and “What God of War titles do you own? Read More...

Start Terrorizing The Streets
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 31st of March 2009 - 03:38 PM ]
Many Views Of inFAMOUS While not as preachy as the top ten that was passed around online yesterday, there are a load of new views and videos that just popped up for the PS3's inFAMOUS. Of course all just to get you looking closer to the game as it is releasing in the next few months. Which means that in the near future we can most likely see a nice PR battle between the inFAMOUS and [Prototype] camps to try and get your money over the other. But I digress yet again. Below there are a plethora of images and video showing quite a bit of what we can all expect to see and experience in the game. Read More...

Go Utah??
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 11:34 AM ]
Well it seems Utah is not as conservative after all. Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (r) has vetoes video games and movie retail restriction bill. To those who don’t know about it, it’s the bill (that was originally written by Jack Thompson and legislator Mike Morle) that would enforce strict penalties on retailers who sells M-Rated games and Rated R movies to “buyers subject to an age restriction or recommendation.”   Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (r) wrote a letter to House Speaker David Clark and Utah Senate President Michael Waddoups about why he vetoed the video game bill: (from Sainless: http://saintless.com/2009/03/25/gov-vetoed-hb-353/)“Dear Speaker Clark and President Waddoups: After careful consideration and study, I have decided to veto HB 353, TRUTH IN ADVERTISING ACT AMENDMENTS, and have transmitted it to the Lieutenant Governor for filing.
