Sony Debuts PS3 Slim, Price Drop

So the PS3 Slim turned out to be announced today, as earlier rumored. Along with the news comes an immediate $100 price drop on both existing systems, with the 80gb dropping to $299.99 and the 160gb dropping to $399.99. The Slim will debut the first week of September and will also carry the $299.99 price tag. The technical differences between the Slim and the Fat are few and far between, the Slim keeps the same features such as Blu Ray, WiFi, and upgradeable hard drive. Read More...

A new edition with all the crazy extra features and extras that I wanted in the one I just bought. The kicker is when they advertise this new version for the same price as the one I just bought. Sony Drops It Like It's Hot!

The PlayStation 3's price that is. While North America might not see a price drop til September 8th, prices of Sony's oft-maligned console have fallen €100 across many European stores. The PlayStation 3 Slim may be coming and this may be a way of attempting to clear out current inventories of old dusty 80gb's. That said, an upcoming ad in a recent American retailer (who shall remain nameless) states that the price of the 160gb PS3 will drop to $399.99 raising questions as to where the hell the price of the 80gb is heading. PS3 Slim Rumored to Debut in Europe Aug 18th

The PS3 Slim is a reality, and it's getting closer and closer to happening, at least according to the latest rumors. Gamescom is taking place later this month, and Sony will hold its conference on August 18th, which is when the PS3 Slim is rumored to be debuted. The rumored release date is September 2nd, but the more important thing, is that the price is allegedly going to be €299.99, which depending on what country you get it in, is €50-€100 less than the current 80gb model. Whether the North American or Japanese release date/price would be announced as well is remain to be seen, however making an announcement for only the European region seems odd. Read More...

With today’s entertainment industry, it’s rarely a surprise when a performer jumps ship and moves from one avenue to another. Be it a singer acting in movies or an heiress releasing an album. Okay maybe that second one wasn’t a great example but the point still stands. In the case of rappers, Ice-T, LL Cool J, and Ice Cube are just a few examples of successful musical artists who have transitioned into movie stars and following in their footsteps is Tyrese Gibson. The former model and rapper has gone on to star in a number of major films including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Flight of the Phoenix, Death Race, and Transformers and its sequel Revenge of the Fallen. Kratos Coming to Comics

Video games being adapted to comic book form is a natural fit. So it is probably not a surprise to hear that another one is coming down the line. But now, arguably Sony’s biggest franchise, will join the likes of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil. Partnering with DC and Wildstorm, Sony’s blockbuster God of War video game franchise is the inspiration for an all new 6-issue mini series. The first issue is tentatively scheduled to debut in October with a run that should last roughly until the release of God of War III in March of 2010. God of War III Art With talks of a movie script being finalized and a novelization of the first game in the works and slated for the same time God of War III launches, it is no surprise that Sony would be a little more loose with actual game content for this power house. I mean, most of the current press has been revolving around the first game that came out ever so long ago. To help battle this, on the official God of War III website, Sony has just released a new fan kit for people to use and post all over their fan pages to show how big of fan boys/girls they are. The Debut Trailer For ModNation Racers Since E3, there hasn't been much talked about this new IP from United Front Games. It was a sneak hit during the Sony E3 Briefing and shown a little bit, in trailer form, around their booth. After that, it has fallen off the radar from all gaming sites, even here at Aggrogamer. But that is not to say that it has completely been scrapped and forgotten.
