Review: The Avenger Elite [PS3]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of October 2013 - 05:07 PM ]
We are all looking for an edge when it comes to competitive gaming or just gaming in general. Be it new tricks and perks or a specialized controller to allow our hands to move as fast as our brains can think. Recently I got my hands on an accessory that claims to be able to help out with just these wants and needs for us gamers. The Avenger Elite is this accessory's name and I'll give you the low down on if it is worth your time and money to try and squeeze a little bit of extra skill out of your hands with it. Let's start off with the 'installation' of the device. Read More...

Review: Power-Up
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 24th of September 2013 - 07:36 PM ]
It has been way too long since the last time I played a classic side scrolling bullet-hell. I’ve longed for something to remind me of my days of playing Super R-type on my SNES or shelling out quarters at an arcade. Thankfully, Psychotic Psoftware has broken out into the indie game business with Power-Up and has given me that nostalgia, as well as something new to savor. Power-Up is a brand new Xbox Live Indie Game from brand new one man developing studio, Psychotic Psoftware. It is a horizontal side-scrolling shoot-em up with beautiful scenery and frame rate. Review: Diablo III [PS3]
by Greg Tatterfield [ Monday, 16th of September 2013 - 06:42 PM ]
Last year Blizzard released Diablo III on PC to great reviews and critical acclaim. Now months after the PC release, console gamers get a chance to play the superb dungeon crawler. I am among the people who got their hands on Diablo III late since I am exclusively a console gamer. This review will be more for console gamers who have never played Diablo III, since I can’t speak for the original PC version because I have never played it. I will however touch upon the differences between PC and the console ports. What I hated: There were not many things that I hated about Diablo III. Read More...

Review: The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of September 2013 - 09:17 PM ]
Well this has been a long time coming since we got our first look years ago at E3 but The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has finally hit the streets. For a while there I was a little scared it wouldn't be coming out given the focus on other titles and a whole different game in the same franchise. But here we go. Does it still hold up to what was shown and/or promised way back when we had our little showcasing? Well let us see. Read More...

Review: Saints Row IV
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 16th of August 2013 - 03:59 PM ]
In 2006 Volition released the original Saints Row. Starting as a Grand Theft Auto clone, Saints Row has long since found its own identity. Here we are on the series' fourth installment and the game is even crazier and over the top than it ever has been. It's clear that Volition and Deep Silver held nothing back in the development of this latest Saints adventure. Saints Row IV takes place a little after Saints Row The Third. The leader of The Third Street Saints has been elected president of The United States. Read More...

Review: Rush Bros.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Saturday, 8th of June 2013 - 04:50 PM ]
I always enjoy listening to music when I play games. But not many games actually utilize the ability to use your own soundtrack in the game. You have Audio Surf or Beat Hazard which are directly influenced by your music but not enough games take this idea and run with it. We have another game to add to the list now. From brand new Indie developer and publisher XYLA Entertainment in collaboration with Digital Tribe Games, makers of such games as Velvet Assassin, Kung Fu Strike, and others, comes a brand new musical 2D racing platformer called Rush Bros. Rush Bros. Read More...

Review: Metro: Last Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 13th of May 2013 - 05:09 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Metro: Last Light. The wait is over for the sequel to Metro 2033. Metro: Last Light is upon us and is continuing the saga of humanity's decimation and Artyom. Let's get down to brass tacks with how Last Light plays and feels. Story The story picks up with Artyom after following the "bad ending" of 2033. That would be allowing the Dark Ones to get blown to hell after they threatened the last safe haven of humanity in Russia. It turns out that one of these "Dark Ones" survived and has been spotted. Review: Poker Night At The Inventory 2 (PSN)
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of May 2013 - 09:48 PM ]
It's been a while since we've had a good card game on the PSN. Now, after a little over 2 years, we have the sequel to Poker Night At The Inventory hitting the PSN. It is aptly named Poker Night At The Inventory 2 for those who can't seem to keep up. It was released on every other platform about a week earlier, but I had the opportunity to give it a go when it hit the PS3. Here's what I thought. Hated Oh my gods the loading LAG in the game. Review: Dead Island: Riptide
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of April 2013 - 08:46 PM ]
Back in 2011 we were all introduced to the wonders that could be a Zombie RPG with Dead Island. Two years later now we get to see how everything has progressed story-wise and engine-wise with Dead Island: Riptide. Is it just another crappy sequel that seems to be all the rage, or does it stand out on its own? Continue on to see what I thought. Story We pick up with the "Immune Fab Four" directly after the events of Dead Island. Read More...

Review: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
by Devin Ballard [ Friday, 1st of March 2013 - 10:30 PM ]
So before I get on the review, let me just say that I’m not big on fighting games. I’m more of an RPG, MMO, or FPS kind of guy. Seldom has a fighting game captured my attention and made me want to continue playing through both defeat and success, so when I say that I’m genuinely interested in PlayStation All-Stars just know that I don’t say that lightly. This is a cross-over fighting game made by SuperBot Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica Studio exclusively for the PS3. Big surprise right? Read More...

Review: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 23rd of February 2013 - 12:06 AM ]
When one hears anything Metal Gear you usually think "Tactical Espionage" style of game. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance deviates from that to an extreme, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. While it all takes place in the same game universe, MGR:R tries a bit of difference with an action packed style of game play. How does it work out? Well read on. Read More...

Review: Serious Sam Double D XXL
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 22nd of February 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Serious Sam Double D XXL is one hell of a mouthful, especially for a title of a game. But don't let the ridiculously long title discourage you from enjoying this great game. Featuring a Gunstacking ability, some awesome platforming, 2D side-scrolling action, and the comedy/humor we all know and love from the Serious Sam franchise. So let's talk about what I enjoyed about Serious Sam Double D XXL. God damn it I need to find a shorter name for that game SSDDXXL? Read More...

Review: Dead Space 3
by Irene Collazo [ Monday, 11th of February 2013 - 05:38 PM ]
Isaac Clarke is back for round three of limb dismembering, skull stomping, and vigorous shimmy shaking action against the Necromorphs we all love to hate. Oh, but he was dragged into it for the sake of mankind. Once again, Unitologists decide to cause an outbreak of Necromorphs because they’re simply crazy and suicidal. That’s just my opinion. Dead Space 3 is somewhat different from the first two games which threw me off for the first hour of game play. Read More...

Review: DmC: Devil May Cry
by Matt Waitt [ Saturday, 2nd of February 2013 - 05:06 PM ]
The reboot of Devil May Cry is not only the best in the series, but breathes new life into the franchise. I personally cannot wait for a DMC 2. I know a lot of you guys cried foul when you saw the new design for Dante, and it's understandable, but at the same time you guys should all calm your damn tits. I thought the old Dante looked too much like a pretty-boy anime character and I really couldn't relate to him all too much. When I saw the new one he reminded me a lot of an 80‘s style Punk rocker, which I like a lot. Read More...

Review: Cognition: Episode 1: The Hangman
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 27th of December 2012 - 06:33 PM ]
I am a lover of murder mystery games, but rarely do I get one that keeps me begging for more. Enter Cognition, an episodic Murder mystery game from indie developers, Phoenix Online Studios. Cognition places you in the shoes of Erica Reed, and FBI Agent in Boston, MA that has the ability to see the ability to see the past of any object she touches. She must use this ability, and several other developing abilities to solve cases and locate murders. Cognition Episode 1: The Hangman starts with Agent Reed and Agent John McCoy racing to a cemetery where Ericka Reed’s brother was taken after being kidnapped by The Cain Killer, a serial killer who kills sets of siblings, a brother and a sister.
