The Clashing Of The Titans Is Still Going On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of April 2010 - 07:17 PM ]
Well now that the film has come and still kind of around in theaters, some of these screen shots (below) for Namco's video game version of the game have begun to make a little more sense. Although there were still no frog people in the film, some of the updated and altered creatures and scenes fit in a little better. With that said, some of the in-game character models look a little bulkier then their film counter parts. The insane cult leader is a perfect example. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is Clashing Against Time
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of April 2010 - 11:14 PM ]
I find it a little odd, yet a little relieving, that the game based on the recent release of Clash Of The Titans isn't hitting shelves for another two months. Really odd as most of the time the licencors want a game to hit along side the release of a movie. Which generally leads to rushing and piss poor work being slopped out there to make a buck or two. Look at most of the movie based games out there and you will see this is the case. It's part of the reason this "genre" of game sucks monkey nipples. Read More...

Halo Movie Has Cometh
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 04:23 PM ]
That's right. You read the title right. IGN just posted the video that came along with the cryptic image of Master Chief that appeared yesterday (3/31/10). It wasn't the tease for a new game, but a live action Halo film. Oh yea. It's happening. Words can not sum up the epicness of this video. It even looks like it is going to sum up the entire game story perfectly. I mean, just from the below clip you can see how close they stay to the story. Just watch and enjoy. Read More...

Clash Of The Titans Is The Diet Coke Of GOW
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 05:20 PM ]
With the US release of the film only about a week away, it is time that Namco started to pump out some good screen shots for the Clash Of The Titans video game. Which, looking below, they just did. Some rather good ones too that don't have me questioning what is being added to the story just for the game. Most of the below are actually the reworked creatures being used in the modernized film. Like the Kraken that looks like a sand worm from Final Fantasy and the centaurs. Read More...

Clash Of The Frog People...Er I Mean...Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 13th of March 2010 - 12:42 AM ]
Maybe I am forgetting what happened in the 1981 version of Clash of The Titans, but I don't remember there being frog people challenging Perseus. It was a long time ago, but I still have no recollection of that. Please correct me if I am wrong. But in any instance, Perseus looks to be taking on frog people in the new game based on the remake of the classic Clash of The Titans. On top of our amphibian friends, it looks like a load of other new creatures were also made just for the game. Which continues the question I posed before, is this loosely based off a remake that looks loosely based off the original? Read More...

Not Your Parents Clash Of The Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 12:30 AM ]
Only a little more than a month away until the "remake" of the classic 1981 Clash Of The Titans hits theaters. For those who are early 80's movie retarded, it was a retelling of the Greek story of Perseus' persecution. Albeit a bit skewed from the original tale for film purposes, but a fun clay-mation driven film. The new film a deviation from the original from the looks of things, and not just the modern effects and CGI, but a bit of the story. The film is not what this is all about though. Read More...

A Dead Rising Movie... For Real?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 30th of January 2010 - 03:11 AM ]
Thankfully, it is not being done by Uwe Bole. Un-thankfully, it looks like it will be just a bad Japanese subtitled flick that will have people like me hating subtitles even more. Too much reading when there is so much action going on behind those bogging words. But in any instance, it looks like it is still a go. Here is the trailer for the film, and it looks nothing like I remember from the game at all. Partially because it is only based off the game world and takes place in a separate part of the world and protagonized by two totally different characters. Read More...

Call of Duty Movie Gets Trademarked
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 7th of October 2009 - 11:26 AM ]
A Call of Duty movie?!? There's a laundry list of great games turned into horrible movies (many of them belonging to Uwe Boll) and it looks like Call of Duty may be added to that list. While it may not be for certain, a trademark filing followed by a mysterious tweet certainly make it look like it could be “in the works” at the minimum. Activision is known for trademarking far more things than necessary, however it would make sense with all the other video game movies that have been announced. The tweet is here: http://twitter. A Gamer's Review of 'Gamer'
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 9th of September 2009 - 12:02 PM ]
Quick Hit: Gamer seems to want to be a film about a future that is governed by our most base and decadent desires for sex and violence, but instead is a forgettable film that is wrought with questions but lacks the ability to provide any answers or establish a unique identity. Be forewarned. There are some spoilers ahead. So if you still plan on seeing the flick and want to be “surprised”, I’d wager you’d want to stop reading right about now. Still with me? Read More...

Hollywood and Video Games: An OpEd
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 3rd of August 2009 - 01:58 PM ]
Two words that should never belong to each other: Movie Game. Let's face it, except for a select few (and let's keep in mind that GoldenEye 007 came out 2 years after the movie did), very few licensed games of a film have been even halfway decent, and yet more and more are coming out. Games from series like Harry Potter and Ice Age have been hits with kids that liked the films, but movie based games have failed to find a home with more mature audiences. Games like Resident Evil, Max Payne and Tomb Raider have spawned successful (Box office wise) movies, yet very few mature movies have spawned successful games. Perhaps it's due to the inherent fact that while in video games, players often feel like they have the freedom to make a choice that will affect how the game turns out. Read More...
