Alan Wake Developer 'Disappointed' By The Media
by Brian Goodman [ Monday, 19th of April 2010 - 09:15 PM ]
The managing director of Remedy Games, Matias Myllyrine has reportedly tweeted today that he is disappointed that gameplay footage of Alan Wake has been leaked. To quote, "Game journalism is not about playing a game in ten minute segments and posting random quality videos on the net. Disappointed." Okay here is why he's full of it and also why Alan Wake will suck. You may or may not have read yesterday my feelings about the necessity of a delicate balance between business and art in games. The reality is that video games are a product. Read More...

Could We Be MMOing It In Rapture Soon?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of April 2010 - 03:22 PM ]
This is still just a rumor and based of sources from Destructoid. I'm not one to post a bunch of rumors. I hate when they are good ones and then they end up being false or a joke started to get views. I really hate it. But this is a rumor that I think most of the fans of 2K Games would go ballistic over if it was made to be a joke or for publicity. It's also one that I am sure that any fan of BioShock would love to be true. If you could not deduce by now, the rumor is BioShock: The MMO. Read More...

Now We Get A bit On The Naughty Bear Story
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of April 2010 - 09:28 PM ]
Finally 505 Games has stopped with the ripping off of the book "How To Be More Like Hades" and have given us what we have been waiting for. At least a little bit. That's right, here is some game footage as well as another or the Nightmare videos that 505 Games first started using to show off Naughty Bear. It took them long enough and only one small threat of copyright infringement from me. I joke. Read More...

Naughty Bear Makes Bear Cakes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of April 2010 - 03:10 PM ]
Wow, 505 Games is really trying to throw out these Naughty Bear clips like there is no tomorrow. Like they are truly trying to rewrite the book of "How To Be More Like Hades™" hard core. First with the rip off of Rule #324 and now with Rule #56, Always eat or trick others into eating the corpse left behind victims. It's the perfect crime. Don't believe me. Read More...

Gamestation Legally Aquires Customers' Souls
by Brian Goodman [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 11:02 PM ]
According to Bit-Tech.net, UK retailer Gamestation decided to play a prank on its unknowing customers. For those of us who do not read the terms and conditions agreements of online transactions (all of us), they inserted an "Immortal Soul" clause (which is exactly what you would think). Long story short, 88% percent of customers did not click the opt out option of said clause and willingly surrendered their ethereal essence to the British retail giant. The 12% who did notice the opt out feature received a small discount for doing their due diligence. Before I go on, seriously; who reads that stuff? Read More...

Review: Mega Man 10
by 345 [ Thursday, 15th of April 2010 - 03:08 PM ]
Mega Man 10 (available on XBLA, WiiWare, and PSN for 800 MS Pts/1000 Wii Pts/$10, respectively) is an incredibly fun and enjoyable entry in the classic Mega Man series. A follow-up to 2008's Mega Man 9 in more ways than just a new number, this game takes a lot of the feedback and criticism the latter had to craft one of the best sidescrolling experiences in years. While there isn't a whole lot Capcom and Inti Creates actually changed in the bigger scheme of things, Mega Man 10 features a lot of new tweaks and balance adjustments that make it far less threatening than its predecessor and more entertaining in the long run. While there are some tough areas in the game, overall I wouldn't call it difficult at all, and perhaps it is one of the most fair games in the series. Read More...

Naughty Bear's Book Of Naughty: Rule 135
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of April 2010 - 10:29 PM ]
I don't know about you, but I am starting to get a little tired of these Naughty Bear videos that 505 keeps pumping out. Not that I don't enjoy them. Not that I don't find humor in them. It's just that I want to know what this game is all about and see some actual gameplay or purpose. To me it is like they are trying some kind of viral marketing plan that really was not well planned out. I mean, if I didn't know better, these videos would make me think that there is a new show coming to Adult Swim and not a video game. Maybe it is just me. Read More...

SEGA Embraces DRM For Alpha Protocol
by Brian Goodman [ Wednesday, 14th of April 2010 - 05:37 PM ]
SEGA, according to Eurogamer, has reported its intent to make use of the Uniloc DRM for its PC release of Alpha Protocol, despite past issues regarding the software. SEGA will be joining the growing group of publishers who have begun using intrusive authentication software in the name of protecting their PC releases. Since the inception of PC gaming publishers have been trying to find effective ways to balance protection against theft and unobtrusive gameplay experiences. How many people remember the funny picture wheel with older Lucas Arts games, or the frequently used “what’s the 4th word on the 9th line of page 36 of the manual” chestnut? Read More...

Gearing Up For Gears Of War 3
by Binh Nguyen [ Tuesday, 13th of April 2010 - 03:33 PM ]
If you somehow missed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, then you missed one of the hottest trailers to grace your television screen. It is no secret what Cliff Bleszinski and the rest of the crew over at Epic Games are working on with the pre-mature announcement over on XBL (way to go Microsoft to blow that news). Well it was time to showcase to the world, or the few that could actually stayed up to watch Jimmy Fallon, the new trailer for Gears of War 3. “When we released Gears of War more than five years ago, we set out to tell the world an unforgettable story of bravery and sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and a year from now, players will get the chance to experience the final chapter in the story of Marcus Fenix and his companions in Delta Squad,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director of Epic Games. Review: Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 9th of April 2010 - 09:22 PM ]
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, developed by Namco and localized by XSeed Games, is an interesting game. I felt like I was playing an anime with many Japanese RPG elements infused within. Fragile Dreams is about a young boy named Seto, who is on a quest to find others in the world after nearly everyone has disappeared. After coming in contact with a young girl named Ren, she runs off and he is on a quest to find her and hopefully others. Early on in his journey he finds a Personal Frame Unit that is a talking backpack, and helps guide Seto through many of his trials and tribulations. Read More...

This week, AggroGamer will be presenting a review for Dark Void, for a new series entitled, "Games You Missed, Which Might Not Be a Bad Thing." The first title to get this treatment will be the action title Dark Void that was developed by Airtight Games and published by Capcom for the PS3, 360 and PC on January 19, 2010. In the meantime, the more well received iteration of the game, Dark Void Zero will be headed to the iPhone and PC. iPad Is For Gaming
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 2nd of April 2010 - 03:14 PM ]
The iPad as you have heard is being released April 3rd, 2010. The lines at the Apple store will be ridiculous, Apple is already struggling against the demand, and Steve Jobs is in a chair somewhere sitting in the dark watching his Apple TV and laughing at all the money he is making this weekend. As I have stated in previous articles, the iPhone format has already paved the way for more powerful mobile gaming, but now with the iPad (a larger iPhone) gamers can utilize the larger screen size and have a truly unique gaming experience. I bring this up because with the information overload about the iPad, EA and 2K Games have stated that they will be updating there iPhone games to be optimized for the iPad. EA's Command&Conquer: Red Alert and 2K's Civilization: Revolution are two very popular titles but are limited by the screen size of the iPhone. Read More...
