by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of December 2023 - 06:00 PM ]
Lost Records Go back in time with the reveal of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and see the next narrative journey on our way with these Lost Records The era of "kids on bikes," to an extent, is coming back in for us all with the reveal of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. This would be the next narrative title that DON’T NOD will be giving to us all later next year for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So, at a minimum, we know it will have a compelling story along with some amazing music to get us further into the mood of it all. Of course, that is not all that Lost Records will have and we get that little bit revealed more in the first trailer that was dropped not so long ago. Read More...

Unrecord The first & early gameplay for Unrecord has been released to the world to show off how photorealistic Unrecord could look There have been a few teases out there and a look at a bodycam footage FPS title to blow our minds with Unrecord dropping some of the early gameplay run for us all to enjoy. This is the title that is coming out of Drama for the PC. Something that needed to be mentioned here since Unrecord does not seem to be the only one using this style to tell a story and give us a new way to experience some high-action out there. Celebrate 10 Years Of Dead Rising By Getting The Remasters This September
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of August 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Dead Rising The remasters of the Dead Rising franchise have a release date just in time for the Dead Rising 10th anniversary that is coming this September Yesterday, August 8th, marked the literal 10th anniversary of Dead Rising's first release date and now it looks like we have a solid date on when we are all going to get to play the remaster of most of the titles that have come out in the franchise to date. I am not certain why Capcom is leaving out the third solid game in the list here but they are. None the less we will be getting all of the other Dead Rising titles remastered and out on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13th with all of the usual upgrades and additions we should expect. Lessons Learned: Record of Agarest War
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 17th of May 2010 - 02:34 PM ]
Have you ever been excited for a game's release, and somehow found a way to ruin the game experience due to your own mistake? I guess in my case, it's more stupidity than a mistake. What I am about to recount is how I went from being in Heaven to dragging myself through Hell in a matter of 10 days. This is my story on how my attempt to review Record of Agarest War went sour and the lessons I learned. As a gamer that is very keen on the import scene, I had heard of Record of Agarest War when it was first released in Japan in late 2007. I was intrigued by the reported dating aspects, the Soul Breeding the game touted and being able to play through story through multiple generations. Read More...

Talk About Being Effed Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of March 2009 - 10:46 PM ]
HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL BREAKS [AN EFFIN'] RECORD FOR THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS GAMER'S EDITION Now this is a feat if I say so myself. Not the getting into the Guinness World Records book, especially since there is the Gamer's Edition. That would make it kind of moot to say that a game made it in. But in this instance, it isn't just making it in, it is the reason behind getting listed in the book. It is an effing awesome reason too. Read More...

BREAKING A RECORD
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Saturday, 7th of June 2008 - 04:26 AM ]
What person hasn't thought about breaking a world record at least once in their lifetime? I remember as a kid - the Guinness books were the ones most often checked out at our schools library, so when the chance arose to finally be in the book itself, I was more excited than a fat kid in a cake factory (no offense to any of you fat kids ;p ). Every year thousands of people gather at the Dallas based anime convention, A-KON in a weekend that can only be described as PEACE, LOVE and POCKY. This year's convention though seemly the same, had one major difference - Guinness Book of World Records was there to witness our world-record breaking skills at work! Read More...

A NEW WORLD RECORD!
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Tuesday, 3rd of June 2008 - 05:40 AM ]
This last weekend, I joined my fellow A-KON 19 goers in a gathering of monsterous proportions. After 3 long hours of waiting, dehydration, an upset firemarshal and plently of waiting in line, 669* of us broke the record, "MOST PEOPLE DRESSED AS VIDEOGAME CHARACTERS IN ONE GATHERING". Now although the number was only 669*, I can assure you that the total number of people qualified at the con was in the 1,000s.I was proud to be amongst the many who went through an afternoon of choas to get the job done. Congratulations to everyone out there who participated!! Read More...

Today my boyfriend bought me a gift, completely out of the blue. The Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition. This gift was right up my alley and it is awesome. This is the first time Guinness has devoted a book exclusively to games. Gamer’s Edition has chapters of the most amazing gaming feats, highest scores, best selling games, and small facts that you might not know. There is also a website where you can try to make the Guinness World Record book with your own game score (www.guinnessworldrecords. Read More...

Now as a regular at A-kon I can assure you that we've broken that record yearly.  Last year A-KON saw an estimated of 10,000 plus ppl nerding it up at the Adams Mark hotel in Dallas. Read More...
