The era of "kids on bikes," to an extent, is coming back in for us all with the reveal of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. This would be the next narrative title that DON’T NOD will be giving to us all later next year for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So, at a minimum, we know it will have a compelling story along with some amazing music to get us further into the mood of it all. Of course, that is not all that Lost Records will have and we get that little bit revealed more in the first trailer that was dropped not so long ago. even if it does feel like it is misleading when it comes to the basics of the story that we do know.
As you can see below for Lost Records, it is a tale of four high school friends who also seem to have a band. A running thing in many of their games. Something happens during the summer of 15 and for some reason, they all stop talking to each other. Twenty-seven years later and no communication later, they are all drawn back in to finally confront what secret thing drove them all apart. You would not be wrong to say Lost Records sounds a lot like a different IP at this point, but we are still in the early reveal of it all as you can see just a little lower down now.

The magical summer of 1995 is one of self-discovery and forging unbreakable bonds for high school friends Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. 27 years of no contact later, fate reunites them to confront the long-buried secret that made them promise to never speak again.

With all of that for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, it is a little hard to make heads or tails of what we are truly going to be getting here. We do know that it will be another title in their story-driven titles they have out there. All with a story that might not be linked to the likes of Life Is Strange. An odd choice, since that IP feels like it is very open-ended with what can be placed out there. Instead, Lost Records sounds like a different telling of IT. We do not see any space spiders or turtles, yet, but the timing and actions we do get to see here feels a lot like it. Then again, many of these stories that follow this setup feel the same. I guess it is why "kids on bikes" is, kind of, a genre now.
