Review: Portal 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of April 2011 - 10:02 PM ]
So here we are again, apparently only a few months after the events of Portal (assumed from in-game interactions). Still trapped in Aperture Science. Still being tested. But importantly, Still Alive. Alive and needing a final escape from the insane AI running the facility that is now hell-bent on enacting revenge for what Chell did in the first game. Along the way making a few surprising friends to help your escape and mastery of all the Science that was going on. There is really no way to simplify the story without giving spoilers here. Review: World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 30th of December 2010 - 06:51 PM ]
Blizzard's World of Warcraft is the current definitive MMO. With six years of collected content, twelve million players, and three expansions, it doesn't look like WoW is going anywhere soon. Blizzard had built an empire, but to strengthen the empire's walls, it would have to rebuild itself from the inside out. For the past six years, in order for a player to reach the cap level of 80, players had to grind through some of the most grueling quests we've seen since Everquest. Kill, collect, rinse, repeat, this was the old scenario until Wrath of the Lich King. Read More...

Looks like Blizzard did it again. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the latest expansion in the World of Warcraft series sold 3.3 million copies in the first 24 hours of its release. This number includes digital sales as well as in-store bought copies. Cataclysm not only rocked the world of Azeroth but also shattered its previous records. Blizzard out sold its previous expansion Wrath of the Lich King sales of 2.8 million and its Starcraft 2 July release sales of 1. Read More...

Cataclysm Beta Brings Streaming Content
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 03:52 PM ]
For the lucky few that were chosen to rally together and fight the new horrors of Azeroth in the World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Beta test, a pretty big update was currently launched. The new clients, which can be downloaded from your battle.net account page, fully re-installs the beta test and showcases Blizzard's new streaming content feature; so you can download while you play. What does all this mean? Can't I just login the same way I have been since the start? Read More...

Blizzard Sells Out Again
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 3rd of August 2010 - 06:11 PM ]
Did you hear that? That was the sound of records breaking in the distance, players from around the world cheering and crying as one of the most anticipated games in the past decade was released. I'm talking about StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, which was released on PC and Mac on July 27th 2010. "GameStop had more than 3,000 stores open at midnight, so our StarCraft players got a jump start on playing the epic experience Blizzard consistently delivers with its games," said Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop. "StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is officially GameStop’s fastest-selling PC game since Blizzard launched World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King® in 2008." StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty on launch day, sold over 1 million copies and over 1. Read More...

Macs R Dead
by Kevin [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 12:45 PM ]
I think everyone saw this coming at some point. When you have a game series with such wide appeal as the Left 4 Dead series, the need to push it out to other platforms becomes fairly obvious. Though I suspect that at some point we will see this game make its way to handhelds in some form or another, this announcement deals with Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 shuffling its zombie feet to the Mac OSX through the glory of Steam for the Mac. For those who are curious, the L4D Team discuss what exactly this means for you: "Steam on the Mac will behave just like Steam for Windows, but through Steam Play will add cross-platform ownership. That means if you own Left 4 Dead 2 for Windows, then you already own it for the Mac. Read More...

The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 04:37 PM ]
For fans of the WWE, there was a lot to love about last year’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. Visually the game was astounding. The characters models were about as lifelike as you could possibly get with attention paid to the smallest details. A great amount of time was spent revamping the tag team matches adding things like hot tags, illegal blind tags, and having inactive teammates being more attractive while standing on the ring apron. Add in the Inferno Match which debuted in the 2009 game and you have one heck of a game. But having played so many of the previous WWE games (going all the way back to when the company was still known as the WWF) I personally felt like there was so much I had seen before that had been cut out. Katamari Forever
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 13th of May 2009 - 08:31 PM ]
This fall is going to bring plenty of games worth checking out, but if there’s one title that deserves a little bit of the spotlight it’s Katamari Forever. As a PS3 exclusive, Katamari Forever is the latest in the popular, but often underrated, Katamari Damacy series. Once again the cosmos are in danger as the King of All Cosmos has fallen into a coma. In his absence the very stars begin to disappear from the night sky. Our only chance is the Prince and his impeccable Katamari rolling abilities. Read More...

A Game You May Have Missed: Noby Noby Boy
by Kevin [ Monday, 2nd of March 2009 - 03:33 PM ]
Every now and again, I'll look for a title that may have fallen through the cracks or that I know is new to some and familiar to others. More often than not it'll be a title that either caused my head to implode or really seemed to fall below the radar.Noby Noby Boy is a little title for the PS3 by Keita Takahashi, the creator of the Katamari Damacy series. I picked up solely on that premise alone - becuase of the inventiveness of the original and the expectation of something just as entertaining. That being said, I'm not sure what this game is. Enter The City With Your Mac
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of October 2008 - 04:55 PM ]
NCsoft and TransGaming Announce City of Heroes for the Mac So it's been a long time coming, but it is finally going to happen. So good news for those Mac players that have yet to get addicted to WoW. But one of the other best MMOs will be easily available for those who love to game with a Mac. Why someone would do that I don't know. Sorry personal opinion. But the details, at least the shorter version, is that there will be a public Beta of the Mac version available before the Holiday Season around the same time the next Issue (patch) comes out. CoD4 For Mac Review
by Andy [ Tuesday, 30th of September 2008 - 04:28 AM ]
As you may have read here before, Call of Duty 4 was coming to the Mac. All this time, the release date was constantly pushed back, frustrating us mac users. So now the time has come that you can now have CoD4 for the mac, and I must say it is just as good as I would of hoped it would be. You are able to download the game or purchase the actual game itself. There is quite a bit of controversy around the DRM that Aspyr has implemented. At first glance, 54. Read More...

Call of Duty 4 for Mac Pushed Back AGAIN?!
by Andy [ Sunday, 17th of August 2008 - 08:23 PM ]
In much anticipation of Call of Duty 4 coming to the mac, since our last update, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been pushed back again. That's right AGAIN! This is getting to the point where it's ridiculous that they keep pushing back the date. Will it even come out? I hope it does, but at this point, is there a point in buying it when it comes out? They are severly upsetting the potential mac owners who are going to purchase this game. They need to kick it up a notch. Read More...

Call of Duty 4 for Mac Has a Release Date
by Andy [ Friday, 13th of June 2008 - 05:59 PM ]
As an avid mac fan one thing that seriously sucks is the lack of games that are made for the mac. Once I heard that COD4 was going to made for the mac, I was insanely excited, I counted down the days til May and checked http://www.aspyr.com/product/info/88 as often as I could to try and find a release date. Alas, I could never find one, so I found myself searching google for the date. I came across a couple of forums that said they game was due around in June, somewhere in the middle. Read More...
