Rumor Mill: New Mirror’s Edge 2 Details
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Some new Mirror’s Edge 2 rumors have surfaced online. They are unverified but lets take a look at them. So many "leaks" lately and this time we have some new leaked info for Mirror’s Edge 2. Yea, Mirror’s Edge 2. A game that many gamers, myself included, have been waiting for while EA and DICE had been coy about until last year's E3 when it was announced and they were still coy about everything. Well is would seem that someone over at Rocket Chainsaw claims to have some new insider information that they can confirm. EA and DICE obviously, like every other publisher/developer out there, do not comment on rumors and speculation. Read More...

While Wasteland 2 is available through early access on Steam, its creator, inXile founder Brian Fargo, released statements saying the game is in its "Final Stretch" of development. He has giving us a three month window for the game to be polished up. Note that the three month window is not a final deadline. Other good news; the Mac version will get a release alongside the PC version. Read More...

Here is a break down of all of the currently announced vendors for the Steam Machine. With pictures. As promised last week, here is a full break down of the Steam Machine models that were on display at CES this year. Review: Nihilumbra
by Kenton Winkfield [ Sunday, 12th of January 2014 - 07:53 PM ]
We sit down and review Nihilumbra. How does this quirky 2D side-scroller handle? As much as i enjoy a game with many difficult maneuvers and complex button combinations to master, a simple game is always preferred after a long day. But simple gameplay can make it difficult for a game to hold my attention, and keep me from getting bored. The people at BeautiFun Games have created the perfect game to fill that position. BeautiFun Games is a 7-person indie development company located in a city just outside of Barcelona, Spain. Read More...

The Steam Machine is one of the hot items at this year's CES and I was lucky enough to get all handsie with one of the units and controllers. What did I think? The Steam Machine had to be one of the top things I wanted to check out at this year's CES in Las Vegas, NV and it just happened to be the first thing to kick off my experience. To those who don't know what they are you can check out more info here so I don't have to get into the details of the device(s). For those of you who do have a clue, then read on and see what my I think. Read More...

Story Time: Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of November 2013 - 05:57 PM ]
Looks Like Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Is Getting The HD Make Over With Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. Here's The Story Trailer And Some Proof I remember way back in 1997 when I first spun up Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee in my PS One. At the time I thought it was the pinnacle of graphics and fun story telling. Now it looks like we are getting a HD rendition of some sort with Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty. From what I remember of the original and see below in the story trailer it is the same in most ways. But that is to be expected from a full remake am I right? Read More...

Season 2 Of Nuka Break Has Exploded Onto The Webs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 30th of October 2013 - 06:40 PM ]
Fallout Nuka Break Season 2 Is Now Live Online To Binge Watch It has almost been two years since we last got a full episode of Wayside Creations' Fallout Nuka Break. Hard to believe, I know. I was shocked to find that out, but not as shocked and excited as I was to see that all six of the new episodes have gone live and available for viewing below. If you are not familiar with the Fallout Nuka Break web series, it is a must to go back and watch or re-watch the series. If that takes up too much time then I can give you a quick break down but you have no idea the disservice you are doing to yourself by not taking the time. Read More...

Review: Knock Knock
by Kenton Winkfield [ Wednesday, 16th of October 2013 - 10:34 PM ]
With Halloween just around the corner, I've wanted to play a creepy game. The problem with this is I can’t seem to find a game creepy enough to send chills down my spine, while not scaring me away from the game every five minutes (it's been a few months since the last time I played Amnesia). Thankfully, the fellows at the Russian development studio, Ice-Pick Lodge, have created a game to fit my personal chill levels without scaring me away. Knock Knock is a 2D side-scrolling survival game set in a single house in the middle of the woods with a single resident. The game was started by Ice-Pick Lodge when they "received an anonymous e-mail which suggested that we should produce some 'unconventional' game based upon the materials attached to the letter. You Can Binge Watch Mortal Kombat Legacy Season 2, But Do You Want To?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of October 2013 - 03:52 PM ]
Earlier this year we got a trailer and a few details about the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I was not overly impressed. Now the time has come and we have the full season available to watch. I have and am still not impressed at all. Again this feels like a simple milking of the franchise and nothing more. If you don't believe me or think you might have a different opinion on the quality of the web series you can watch all ten episodes below. It makes me sad to know that an original idea that happened three years ago spawned just another telling of the same story we have heard a hundred and one times already. Read More...

Review: Rush Bros.
by Kenton Winkfield [ Saturday, 8th of June 2013 - 04:50 PM ]
I always enjoy listening to music when I play games. But not many games actually utilize the ability to use your own soundtrack in the game. You have Audio Surf or Beat Hazard which are directly influenced by your music but not enough games take this idea and run with it. We have another game to add to the list now. From brand new Indie developer and publisher XYLA Entertainment in collaboration with Digital Tribe Games, makers of such games as Velvet Assassin, Kung Fu Strike, and others, comes a brand new musical 2D racing platformer called Rush Bros. Rush Bros. Read More...

Check Out The Insane Wolfenstein: The New Order E3 Trailer Right Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 03:36 PM ]
By now we all know the premise behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. The Nazis got the bomb first and ended up winning WWII because of it and William "B.J." Blazkowicz, AKA you, are given the orders to try and take down the Nazi powers that be. Standard affair if I do say so myself outside of the super tech that the Nazis have at their disposal. Wouldn't it be fun to step away from that "standard affair" and have a look at what could have been if this was true history? In the below trailer that is just what Machine Games and Bethesda have done. Read More...

PAX East Panel: Red5 Studios
by Fred Buell [ Wednesday, 3rd of April 2013 - 08:15 PM ]
This past PAX East 2013 I was lucky enough to be seated in a room with several other members of the press and general attendees to hear about all things Red5. Let's first talk about Red5's Firefall. I first got to play and look at Firefall at last year's PAX East. The game is still in beta and being constantly worked on and taking serious looks at what the fans want in the game. Right off the bat of this presser was informative and entertaining. They have moved away from the previous 'Tier' and 'Level' based system and instead opted for a gear based system. Read More...

What Have They Done To Mortal Kombat: Legacy?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of February 2013 - 10:21 PM ]
Remember about two years ago when Mortal Kombat: Legacy made a huge splash on the internet? I do as I wrote a small review about each episode that came out. With each review came more and more disappointment as the story and whole concept moved back into video game cannon from the original concept that re-sparked the whole project. If you are not sure what I am talking about still, look to the very bottom to see the original video. Well now that we've taken that walk down memory lane let's move forward. Read More...
