This Week In Video Games 12/17/18 — 12/21/18
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 22nd of December 2018 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week We are almost at the last week of video games of the year as we head towards Christmas and then New Years. Weirdly, this year did not seem to slow down as we made it to the end and we will all take that. From new things to look at for Devil May Cry 5 and Kingdom Hearts over to other updates for Control and Resident Evil it does not look like we are going to hit a wall here in 2018. At least in terms of video games that is. Read More...

Close To The Sun Has A New Publisher & Some New Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of December 2018 - 08:00 PM ]
Close To The Sun A new publisher is here for Close To The Sun as we head into 2019 and also get some new gameplay for Close To The Sun too boot We have not had too many updates for Close To The Sun here on the site, but it is high time that we did. Especially since we are all clamoring for some gameplay and to find out just when the game is going to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Something that should be a little sooner and easier to do as Storm In A Teacup is now all partnered up with Wired Productions to do just that for Close To The Sun. A happy day indeed for those looking to see if the Unreal Grant was going to be enough or if they were going to be able to focus on making the game we have been looking for since its announcement. At least for those of us willing to give the game a go on the PC via Discord as Elastic Games’ title has now launched there with other platforms to follow next year. Assuming that all goes well here in this version of it all. Read More...

It is not too much in terms of the latest version of the franchise that HumaNature Studios is still working on, but it is just a bit more to keep us going. Also a bit more to make sure we all know where the original ToeJam & Earl is coming from, in case you forgot, and how this will be a high definition version of the franchise. Read More...

Kingdom Hearts A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III is here to show us more from Lilo & Stitch and Ratatouille as we await Kingdom Hearts III’s release If you are in a Kingdom Hearts III media blackout due to the leaked versions of the game out there, then why are you clicking in here? Not that we are going to spoil anything for the game before January 29th, but that means you are not going the full mile when it comes to that blackout. Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Thus concludes another fun week in the world of video games here. More or less trying to catch up on all of the news that surprised us at the end of last week, but we finally were able to get to it all. We did not even have a chance to get to everything. Review — Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of December 2018 - 10:00 PM ]
Mutant Year Zero We sit down and review Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden. A tactical game that is a little XCOM with a little Fallout. Here is our review of Mutant Year Zero It seems like it has been a good long while since we have had a tactical RPG in the mix and Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden is here to try to scratch that itch. If the name sounds familiar, besides following all the video game news, then you would be right as this is also The Bearded Ladies’ crack at bringing an old Swedish tabletop game to life. At least to life in terms of video games. Read More...

Things Are Opening Up A Bit More For Kingdom Hearts III
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 11th of December 2018 - 10:00 PM ]
Kingdom Hearts A new video for Kingdom Hearts III is here to show off what is called the opening but also recaps the other Kingdom Hearts titles in the process In just a little over a month we will be keyblade deep in Kingdom Hearts III in the best of ways, but that does not mean we have to wait for the opening video for the game. At least something that is being called that is here for us to spy upon for the game from Square Enix in the latest update that we have for it all. When you have a look at it, you will get to see a nice recap of the previous Kingdom Hearts titles, but it does seem to be a bit out of sorts for a true opening to a video game. Read More...

Mortal Kombat 11 Is Now Announced & Coming Sooner Than Expected
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of December 2018 - 06:00 PM ]
Mortal Kombat A surprise announcement for Mortal Kombat 11 just happened and it looks like new things are coming to the Mortal Kombat universe with this next title During last night's Game Awards, we were all surprised to finally see the announcement of Mortal Kombat 11 on stage with an amazing looking cinematic intro for the game. All of which came about as a surprise when Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios was brought out to present the award for a genre he is not known for and the below trailer started to play. It is all cinematic and no actual gameplay to view here, but it does show us a little bit for Mortal Kombat 11 and also gives us the surprise that it will be launching on April 23rd for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Review — Arca’s Path
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of December 2018 - 10:00 PM ]
Arca’s Path We sit down and review Arca’s Path. An interesting VR version of Marble Madness, of sorts. Here is our review of Arca’s Path In the mix of all the high action and fast moving video games out there, it is time to take a break and slow things down with Arca’s Path. The latest VR title to hit our PSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift here from Dream Reality Interactive. It started out as one of the smaller titles I saw at video game conventions in the past and now it has grown into a full-fledged release. Mix that in with some of the more serene visuals, music, and mechanics, it looks like Arca’s Path could be the break some of us need out there. Read More...

Last Year: The Nightmare Will Be Stalking Us Real Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of December 2018 - 08:00 PM ]
Last Year The release date for Last Year: The Nightmare is now set and it looks like console gamers will be able to play Last Year: The Nightmare next year It looks like Elastic Games was pushing things right up to the end to make sure they hit that Fall release for Last Year: The Nightmare via Discord on the PC. I say this as we now have a release date for the game and it falls just shy of the actual change from Fall to Winter as it is now December 18th for all of those who are looking for another one versus many styles of video games out there. This could be the right time for Last Year, though, as it could be working its way out into the wake of all of the others in the gameplay genre that has fallen flat or completely away too many other reasons.
