Google Brings You Ninjas!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of November 2008 - 11:47 PM ]
Spice up your inbox with colors and themes While trolling around the interwebs I stumbled across a nice little tidbit from Guild actress Felicia Day. GMail Themes! So I had to go see if I was one of these lucky few and low and behold there it was on one of my accounts. So not completely gaming news, but it is kind of cool geek news. But it looks like a select "few" people have been selected to take a gander at GMail's new Themes for their Beta of the service. No real details on when it will be wide release, but there are some really cool themes selected. Read More...

Left 4 Dead Demo Free 4 Everyone *Updated*
by Sam [ Wednesday, 12th of November 2008 - 06:16 PM ]
The PC demo for Valve's upcoming survivor horror game Left 4 Dead is now available for download without putting down a pre-order like in the 360 version. I haven't got a chance to try, or even download it yet. Hell I don't even know if my computer will run it. It seems worthy of trying, seeing all the good things I've been hearing about it.     UPDATE: They released the demo free for the 360 in the marketplace. Just downloaded it this afternoon. A Steam Cloud is rolling in...
by [ Tuesday, 4th of November 2008 - 02:20 AM ]
Today, Valve has announced a platform that will store game applications online so that gamers can access them from any PC. Affectionately titled Steam Cloud, the November zombie thriller Left 4 Dead will ship with out-of-the-box support. According to Valve, the Steam Cloud "just works," meaning that any changes a gamer makes to configurations in-game such as button layouts, difficulty settings, or multiplayer options will be automatically delegated to the user’s Steam Cloud account on another computer. Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve, explains: "For some time now, Steam has allowed gamers to log on from any computer in the world and access their applications. This also makes it easy to upgrade a PC without worrying about losing your games. Read More...

And There Was Asshatery
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of October 2008 - 05:39 PM ]
Gears Of War 2 Invades Torrent Sites So a new game is about to roll out and the pirates go to town trying to break the disk and get it out there for the masses. That being said, there is the 7gb torrent of the game being spread around the net for people to use for free. But that isn't what this article is about. It's more along the lines of what the source was going into. Piracy <RANT> So we all know it can get expensive to buy all the games that we want to play in today's market. Read More...

Review: Dead Space (PS3)
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of October 2008 - 05:14 PM ]
Bringing Back The Love Of Horror It has been a long time since I have had a game creep me out like the original Resident Evil did when I was a kid. Within the first twenty minutes of playing the game I felt the blood pumping with anticipation and a little excitement. And this isn't even anywhere near into the story at all. Pretty much, by this point you get off your ship look around and ask a few questions. Then out of no where the lights go out and you have to run for your life. Read More...

The awesome portable Dreamcast
by Sam [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:18 AM ]
A guy by the name of "hailrazer" over at BenHeck.com modded his own portable Dreamcast called the Dreamtrooper. The reason for the name is because it's not only a Dreamcast but it also looks like a Storm Troopers helmet. The Dreamtrooper plays GD-ROMs attached to the back spindle and is said to have about three hours of battery life. Check out the video below of him playing Sonic Adventure 2. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of October 2008 - 07:51 PM ]
Fable II Site Launches When the first game launched, they did something much the same, as is the case with any new game that launches. You want to get out the info as soon and as quick as possible. Makes sense. But this time around Lionshead and Microsoft have decided to make it even more worthwhile to go to the game's site. This time around when going through the story and cutouts, the choices you make can actually gain you in-game items. Pretty much however you decide to go through can get you different items for play within the game. Read More...

EA Tells Epic Games That They Were Always Sexier Than Take Two
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 6th of October 2008 - 03:20 AM ]
So that thing with Take-Two didn't work out huh, well there's always more fish in the sea, and it looks like EA may have another one on it's hook. Word on the street (from gameguru) states that EA is looking to gobble up Epic Games in an effort to win back the hearts and minds of the hardcore gamer. Now gameguru may not have the best grammar or the most trustworthy sources however the fact that EA recently struck a deal with People Can Fly (an in-house studio belong to none other than Epic Games) only strengthens their claims. Along with the claims of the Epic buyout, gameguru also indicates that EA would like to get it's hands on Unreal 4. Read More...

EA Cancels Command & Conquer FPS After Realizing That Game Already Exists
by Ben Brody [ Thursday, 2nd of October 2008 - 01:15 AM ]
Okay, so not many of you may remember the 2002 game Command & Conquer: Renegade but it was CNC's first, and so far only, foray into the FPS genre. That was about to change in 2009 with EA's Tiberium (it would've been the first game without the Command and Conquer prefix), a first person shooter based in 2058, about 11 years after the third Tiberium war. In a statement released by EA on Tuesday, it was revealed that the reason for the cancellation was due to poor quality. Here is the full statement of it's cancellation by EA's Mariam Sughayer: "EA has suspended work on Tiberium effective immediately. Read More...
