No, unfortunately, this does not mean that Daniel Day Lewis will be abandoning his child (abandoning his boy), and being a gracious oilman on our next generation consoles. Nay, this deals with the blood that will be spilled via two downloadable titles coming this Wednesday on XBox Live and PSN. Death by Cube (800 ($10)) is a little gem by Square Enix with a story that suggests a sweet abundance of man's most precious videogame resource, violence, "Leo is a robot, one who awakes to find that he has lost his memory. All he knows is that he must reboot the heroine robot, so he sets forth on a mission hoping to regain his memory. Surprisingly, there are many out there who are not aware of the Tekken live action film. Not surprisingly, I would consider those people fairly lucky. What's really interesting is that the movie supposedly dropped in the US, LAST NOVEMBER. Does anyone remember this? Essentially, the story was as such: "In the year of 2039, after World Wars destroy much of civilization as we know it, territories are no longer run by governments, but by corporations; the mightiest of which is the Mishima Zaibatsu. Psyko Audio may not be the first to release a 5.1 headset and they certainly will not be the last, but Psyko 5.1 was named one of the CES best of 2009. Does this new headset deserve such a title? Below is a list of games that will no longer have multiplayer support as of February this year.  EA says you can play these titles up until the actual shutdown date.  Community programs could shut down earlier, depending on circumstances.  A little surprise for you football buffs, Madden 09 is on this list for a February 9th shut down date.  What does that mean, that means you're gonna have to shell out some cash for Madden 10 if you want to get online and get your fix.Be sure to note which platforms are being shut down, not all titles are being shut down on all platforms, so make sure you take a good look as to which platforms will no longer be available. We, as humans, are a competitive, goal-oriented species.  The category of humans known as gamers are characteristically more so.  So when little goals outside of the main game play were created on platforms this console generation (Achievements on Xbox 360 and Steam, trophies on the PS3), gamers took to them with a ferocity only matched by the public's outrage to the release of Coke 2.  The obsession with achievements has grown to the point that people will go out of their way to grind away for hours, simply to have the tiny extrinsic award.  As a bit of an afterthought and most likely a reward to the fans, last week Runic Games released over 60 achievements that may be earned on Steam for their critically acclaimed action-RPG Torchlight. On December 12th of ’09, Spike TV held their 7th annual Video Games Award. The Nominees were in, the ballets were turned in and it was time to find out who won. We could go through every award, but we all know we just want to know who won the 2009 Game of the Year. Well the Nominees for Game of the Year were Assassin’s Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
