The display there was not all that stand out, but it was a great find to come across. While there, I figured I would take in some of the cinematics of the game. It's been a while since we've gotten any information about Aliens: Colonial Marines. There have been many rumors flying around saying that the game was officially dropped and was never going to see the light of day. Luckily, SEGA has revealed to videogamer.com that it's still in the works and will be out for the PS3, 360 and PC the first quarter of 2009."Although SEGA was unable to clarify exactly what months Q1 2009 include when contacted by VideoGamer.com, it is expected to run from April to the end of June, the first three months of the Japanese company's financial year. Microsoft's Robbie Bach announced during their company's CES Keynote that a demo for Halo Wars will be available for download February 5th. Robbie has also announced that instead of Halo Wars being released March 3rd, they are now moving it to February 28th. I am saddened to report that Hearst-owned UGO Network has purchased the 1UP Network from Ziff Davis. In what was thought initially to help improve 1UP and its financial standings, has turned out to be a grim surprise. After officially announcing the sale earlier, Ziff Davis Media CEO had this to say, “We believe this is a smart transaction for Ziff Davis Media that places these market leading assets and teams in a great environment poised for further success. The transaction allows us to pay down debt and shift our full focus to our core PCMag Digital Network business. Mark Rein from Epic has responded to everyone's complaints about all the glitches in bugs in the game such as equipping the shield with a 2-hand weapon, Lancers with infinite ammo, invisible shields and so on. That's all going to end soon. Posted on the Gears forums is all the details of what's coming in this patch."We're fixing a whole bunch of online exploits. For example we've fixed the ability to wield an invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo and equip a shield and a two-handed weapon simultaneously plus many more. Resident Evil At least Resident Evil Degeneration is better than the live-action Resident Evil movies Of the dozen or so problems that just about every Resident Evil fan has with the live-action movie trilogy, the number one thing has to be the lack of any real connection between the movies and the games other than the title. Thankfully Degeneration changes that by presenting an original story that is built right off of the core of the Resident Evil series and forms a bridge with the upcoming Resident Evil 5. Lara Croft returns in Tomb Raider: Underworld, her final adventure before a huge revamping of the series. So is this a brilliant way to send Lara off before reconstruction of the series or an example of why the series needs change? I am pleased to say that this is the best Tomb Raider title to date. Crystal Dynamics uses Underworld to continue and bring a conclusion to Lara's adventure she began in 2006's Legend. Underworld begins with you controlling Lara in Croft Manor as the manor is ablaze. Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou, an upcoming japanese title on the Nintendo Wii, has released its latest trailer featuring Aya Hirano. The game features a dancing mode, which Aya shows off in this trailer, and the moves you make with the Wiimote simulate those of the actual dancing. For those who may not know, the game is based off of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Aya Hirano is the actual voice actress of Haruhi in Japan. The dance featured is also from hare Hare Yukai, which is the ending theme for the anime. The game is currently set for release in Japan, January 22nd 2009. Read More...

In an e-mail to Atlus Faithful today, Atlus Co. has announced that Legacy of Ys: Books I & II, for Nintendo DS, pre-orders at participating retailers will now come with a bonus Soundtrack CD. This soundtrack CD will cover music from both Books I & II, but Atlus has not specified the length of the tracklist yet. Atlus had this to say about the soundtrack: Epic in melody and arrangement, the Ys Books I & II soundtrack has long been considered one of the greatest video same scores ever created.
