DJ Hero Adds More Exclusive Mixes... To The Mix

Unfortunately, with this newest announcement, I wonder if DJ Hero is becoming a little too exclusive. I will admit that I had to follow the links to the websites of both The Scratch Perverts and DJ Yoda. I'm not into the club scene so I have not heard of these guys at all. My last story on DJ Jazzy Jeff creating mixes for DJ Hero was great for me since he's such a well-known name both in the industry and in the mainstream. Activision is also packaging the Renegade Edition of DJ Hero that features Jay-Z and Eminem; both names are easily recognizable. With these two newest editions, I have no reason to get excited. I am the mainstream audience, the casual gamer who plays rhythm games at home and who, until recently, had considered this a good purchase. With some of the unrecognizable names and the hefty pricetag ($120 for the basic edition and $200 for the Renegade Edition), I'm beginning to rethink my purchase decision on this game. Maybe it isn't for me.
