As nearly everyone in the World...of Warcraft knows that Blizzard and Legendary Pictures want to make a movie adaption of the highly popular MMO World of Warcraft. Two days before the San Diego Comic-Con, Blizzard and Legendary Pictures have announced that Sam Raimi has signed on to direct the upcoming Warcraft movie. For those who do not know who Sam Raimi is, and shame on you for not knowing, he directed such films as the cult classic Evil Dead and the Spider-Man trilogy, which has broken box-office records around the world and was nominated for five Academy Awards. MTV Games Appoints 2 new Execs

What's to do when your company posts a $431 million loss? Leave! Which is exactly what Scott Guthrie did about a month ago. The former Executive Vice President of Publishing for THQ was officially hired on as Executive Vice President and General Manager for MTV Games. Also joining MTV Games as Senior Vice President of Sales is David Cox the former Senior Director, Sales, and Merchandising Executive at SCEA. “With our acquisition of Harmonix to our relationship with Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Inc., MTV Games has quickly risen to become one of the top five video gaming publishers. If you haven’t heard by now there is another video game movie in the works. And this time it’s for Gears of War (chainsaw FTW). Chris Morgan, who has written such movies as Fast and Furious and Wanted, just wrapped up the script for the upcoming movie and now they are looking for a cast. He is looking for his main actor to play Marcus Fenix, and while others are thinking of actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, or maybe Chuck Norris. New Beatles Rock Band Controllers With pre-orders starting to fly in for this new Rock Band game, The Beatles, the people over at Harmonix and MTV have decided to hook those pre-order people with a few little extras for shelling out a few bucks before the game comes out. Well hook them up somewhat. By giving them a site they can go to where they can place in a code given when pre-order. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Most licensed games that stem from movies have a history of well, being garbage, or at the very least having very few redeeming qualities. A lot of people attribute this to rushed development cycles to tie in with the film's release. There are high hopes for this though considering Raven Software, the team behind Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is at the helm, along with Amaze Entertainment, who have some debatable successes. See, not only do they take real gamers, people you might have actually played against at some point, but they also test them to see if they can do these virtual skills in the real world as well.
