Call of Duty 5 Beta
by Robert [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 05:50 PM ]
Ok, so I was lucky enough to receive a Call of Duty 5 beta invite!!!! (aka I just joined the COD website a few days before the beta opening) There isn't too much to say about Call of Duty 5, it's basically just Call of Duty 4 with a different look... errr era. In the beta you get to play 3 maps multi-player, Roundhouse, Castle, and Makin. All 3 maps are awesome. Castle is alright, it's pretty much just a Japanese castle that has quite a few buildings to run throughout, and it looks pretty. Read More…
Google's G1 Android Phone...
by Taylor Rose [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:44 PM ]
I know many of's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave". Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams teaser trailer
by Sam [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:21 PM ]
PS3 owners who have already beaten Bioshock will unlock the teaser trailer for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, coming sometime in the distant future. The video starts off with a little sister, who doesn't seem to be little anymore, holding what would appear to be a Big Daddy Doll staring at the Atlantic Coast. Check out the shaky, crappy quality video below. Read More…
The awesome portable Dreamcast
by Sam [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:18 AM ]
A guy by the name of "hailrazer" over at modded his own portable Dreamcast called the Dreamtrooper. The reason for the name is because it's not only a Dreamcast but it also looks like a Storm Troopers helmet. The Dreamtrooper plays GD-ROMs attached to the back spindle and is said to have about three hours of battery life. Check out the video below of him playing Sonic Adventure 2. Read More…
New Survival Horror Queen, I Dub Thee
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of October 2008 - 03:52 PM ]
Jovovich Makes Time for Clock Tower Ok, so I was out of the loop on this until now. First, I didn't know they were making a movie based on one of my favorite childhood survival horror games, Clock Tower if you didn't catch it above. Notice I said one of my favorite survival horror games. This will be pertinent. Well today I just found an update on this and the actress, Milla Jovovich, that made me secretly love the films based on my favorite survival horror game, Resident Evil, is now going to be in this film as well. Playing Alyssa Hale, although it is listed as Alyssa Barron elsewhere. Read More…
The New Warcraft Experience!! ... I Mean Patch 3.02
by Robert [ Wednesday, 15th of October 2008 - 02:21 PM ]
Yesterday the final major patch for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade was released, meaning Wrath of the Lich King is almost here. Just like pre-BC, Blizzard decided to release a major patch of content to ease the stress of all the new content before the release of the expansion. With patch 3.02 came new spells, new talents, and tons and tons and tons (and I mean TONS) of new utilities. One of the major additions to patch 3.02 was the Achievement System, and I must say I'm pretty impressed. Read More…

Tell Fables For Fun And Prizes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of October 2008 - 07:51 PM ]
Fable II Site Launches When the first game launched, they did something much the same, as is the case with any new game that launches. You want to get out the info as soon and as quick as possible. Makes sense. But this time around Lionshead and Microsoft have decided to make it even more worthwhile to go to the game's site. This time around when going through the story and cutouts, the choices you make can actually gain you in-game items. Pretty much however you decide to go through can get you different items for play within the game. Read More…
World Of Warcraft, Control An Army of Your Own!
by Robert [ Tuesday, 14th of October 2008 - 05:55 PM ]
Sometimes partying with a few people in World of Warcraft can be frustrating, how can you convince 4 other people to do what you want? This problem was solved by a unique fad in World of Warcraft called multi-boxing. When you are a multi-boxer, you spend lots of money and time to level up more than one character (usually around 3-4) and set up your PC to control all characters at once. A lot of the fan base feels this is cheating, others praise the skill involved, and Blizzard turns a blind eye, stating that they consider it legitimate. Well, World of Warcraft player Bradster has decided that he is sick of trying to convince 40 other people to join a raid with him and attack faction cities, Bradster has decided to take multi-boxing to a new level, controlling a total of 36 characters at once (all shaman). Biohazard In The Home

Resident Evil 5 Getting PSHome Lounge So If you look at the most recent posting about PSHome, you can see that I am not all that enthused about PSHome any more. It has been way too long of a tease for something that doesn't seem to be well received by Sony fans. But that is not what I am here to bring up. I am here to bring up something that is peaking my interest back in it. That is the specific Game Lounges that will come out within Home and the most recent one announced at the TGS. Read More…
RUMOR MILL: Guess What Else Comes Out Nov 19th Along With NXE
by Ben Brody [ Monday, 13th of October 2008 - 05:32 AM ]
Oh c'mon why wouldn't they pull that. The Inquirer reports that on November 19th of this year, Sony's Playstation Home will be unleashed to the public, coincidentally on the same exact day that Microsoft drops it's New XBOX Experience for its XBOX 360 console. While Home is certainly more substansial (it's a whole virtual world where you can walk around, play games, watch movies, and more, semi-akin to second life), where as NXE is more of a looks-rather-than-content update, both are being heavily looked forward to. While people who live close to each other in real life probably won't substitute going to somebody's PS Home versus going to their real home, it does offer a great solution for people who live across the country. The world you ask? Read More…

Gears of War 2 Goes Gold
by Andy [ Friday, 10th of October 2008 - 04:07 PM ]
Microsoft and Epic Games, Inc. announced today that “Gears of War 2,” the blockbuster action sequel to the five million unit selling original, has gone gold.   “After two years of pouring our heart and passion into ‘Gears of War 2,’ the team is immensely happy with what we’ve created,” said Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. "This is Epic’s best work yet, and we can’t wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike.” “Gears of War 2” tells the story of humanity's last stand against the nightmarish, underground Locust Horde, and is the follow-up to one of the most popular Xbox 360 games in history. No More Heroes 2 set for 2010
by Sam [ Friday, 10th of October 2008 - 03:53 PM ]
Just came across this depressing news while browsing Kombo. It looks like the recently announced sequel won't be hitting store shelves for quite a while. A Marvelous Entertainment press release for NMH2 shows a 2010 release for the game, which would be a 2 year gap from the original which was released in January. I actually enjoyed the first one. I don't see why a lot of peoeple gave it a low rating. Read More…
