Dance Central Track List Revealed
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 14th of October 2010 - 04:34 PM ]
Since this year's E3, there has only really been one launch title for the Microsoft Kinect that I've had even the most remote interest in: Dance Central. Today, Harmonix released the complete track listing for the game and although the 32 tracks seems a bit light - after being accustomed to receiving 85 tracks on a Rock Band disc - I will say the Harmonix team did an excellent job in the selection department. Sure it has the stereotypical DDR-like songs ("Funky Town", "Brick House", "Jungle Boogie"), but when you look a little bit deeper, I think you'll agree there is more than a few songs where you're beginning to hear the beat in your head and a smile is creeping onto your face. I only know since it just happened to me as I saw Bell Biv DeVoe's “Poison”, Salt-N-Pepa's “Push It” and Wreckx-n-Effect's “Rump Shaker”. Read More...

Review: Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of October 2010 - 04:54 PM ]
In the godly plane of rock, an epic battle rages on. A battle between the Demigod of Rock - a being of all things that are rock - and the horrid, mechanical Beast - a being of everything that apparently sucks in music. Up until now, Gene Simmons the Demigod of Rock has prevailed. That is, up until now when the Beast finally bested the Demigod and locked him away. Now it is up to the chosen eight warriors of rock to come to power and release the Demigod so he can save music from a teenie-bop-emo-crap-storm it will become. Yes, that is the shortened version of the new story mode for Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock, the recent iteration to the Guitar Hero franchise. Read More...

Fable III Is Star Studded
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 29th of September 2010 - 08:33 PM ]
Fable III is drawing near, and recently we got a video diary which highlighted one of the most important pieces of the game, the cast. With a little bit of background from the characters as told by their voice over counterparts, this video gives us more of a deeper view into the world of Albion. Check out the video after the jump. With such amazing talent like Michael Fassbender, Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, Sir Ben Kingsley, John Cleese, Zoë Wanamaker, Bernard Hill and Nicholas Hoult, players can expect hilarity and some fantastic voice over work. You can tell a lot about a video game, especially by its cast. Read More...

We Got A Mafia II Developer's Call We Couldn't Refuse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of August 2010 - 11:40 AM ]
Now that you have seen the videos used to muster up your interest in the game that was eight years in the making - Mafia II - what else do you think the developers would want to tell you about the game? Yea, trailers and clips are fun, but they don't always convey certain things about a game you want to know. Sometimes they don't even truly show how the game is going to look and sound like. Well, we got on the horn with Jack Scalici, Director of Creative Production, and had a few questions answered for you. Read More...

You can certainly learn how to persuade someone if you are watching "The Art of Persuasion." Especially with a baseball bat. How about making yourself useful in "Tools Of The Trade. Read More...

Rock Band 3 Inadvertently Smiles for Camera at Gamescom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of August 2010 - 05:32 PM ]
<UPDATE> So because media outlets got the jump on confirming all the tracks in Rock Band 3 Harmonix decided to come out and "un-officially" confirm the rumors listed below. Way to try to cover up your mess there. But this isn't an announcement no matter how you try to play it. You guys screwed up and this is damage control. Just call it as it is. Source </UPDATE> You would think that in the "YouTube" generation everyone would realize that there are cameras everywhere. Read More...

Two Kombatants Have Entered The Mortal Kombat
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of August 2010 - 01:34 PM ]
It would appear we are in for a long wait to see the rest of the roster for the upcoming Mortal Kombat as it has been about two months since the big reveal at E3 and we are not even over the half way point roster-wise. We are at 12 characters - 10 of which confirmed playable - out of the 28 total and unless the GUI for character selection has changed, 26 of those will be playable . Now if you were a good reader and didn't skip to the images to see who was just shown off, nor if you figured it out from the article image, the two newly announced characters are Cyrax and Kitana. Both pretty much assumed from the beginning, but now completely confirmed. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Seventy Six: Back into the Swing
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 09:41 PM ]
Your continued re-acclamation to the AggroCast resumes with Episode 76. Mike is back and better than ever, bringing serious gaming mojo to the returning E3 heroes, Brian and Binh. Okay, perhaps heroes is a bit strong, but the team is getting back into the swing of things. A quick recap of E3 has Mike jealous that Brian and Binh were able to attend the show. This week's Bargain Bin is from the Halo Universe. On the DL travels into the land of Final Fantasy. Read More...

Dragon Age II Trailer Released At Gamescom
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 06:59 PM ]
Not long ago BioWare announced Dragon Age II with a website and more recently a good amount of information from hands-on previews and a full article in Game Informer. At the EA press conference in Cologne Germany during Gamescom, EA gave us our first look at the cinematic trailer for Dragon Age II and it is definitely worth watching. The trailer is titled "Destiny" and it is a spectacle to behold; nothing less should be expected from BioWare. The cinematic is beautifully rendered with some great looking characters and awesome action sequences. Read More...

More Songs Revealed For Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 04:43 PM ]
Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. Review: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 02:39 PM ]
Last we left this extremely odd couple, they were fleeing for their life with Kane's daughter not too well off. Now, from what you have seen so far of the story, it is years later and the two seem to have become closer even over international lines. At least it seems they are closer because I know I wouldn't want to go meet up with a psychopath that moved to China unless I had a better bond than "We Broke Out Of Jail Together." In any instance, the duo is back and ready to cut a new deal to finally get Kane out of the life of crime. Only with their luck, things are just not that simple. Read More...

Costume Quest Makes That Transformers Costume Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 07:06 PM ]
While it is not a game with a great overall concept like Brütal Legend, Costume Quest is just about what we have come to expect from Tim Schafer's studio Double Fine. Oh wait, you don't know what Costume Quest is? Let me give you the run down. Costume Quest is a rollicking Adventure/Role-Playing game that unfolds on Halloween night across seemingly peaceful suburban neighborhoods, a mysterious village carnival, and a monster-infested shopping mall. Created by Double Fine's lead animator, Tasha Harris, the game follows the adventure of a group of young friends who must rid their neighborhood of monsters using only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes. Players go door-to-door collecting candy, points, cards, battle stamps and quest assignments as they prepare themselves for Combat Mode-where they transform into larger-than-life versions of their costumes. Get Your Head Up In The Clouds With BioShock Infinte
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of August 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
BioShock fans can rejoice, at least a little bit. While the final DLC pack for BioShock 2 is on its way here in the coming months, it has been officially been announced that the franchise will live on. Even though we will have to wait until 2012 for the next incarnation, the previously dubbed Project Icarus has been revealed. Welcome to BioShock Infinite. While I do say next incarnation, BioShock Infinite is not a sequel in terms of story though. Read More...

Ninjas & Robots Team Up, Nothing Good Can Come Of This
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of August 2010 - 06:11 PM ]
Instead of facing off in a bloody, futuristic main event, like they should have, 2K Games and Gearbox are teaming up to show their post-apocalyptic supremacy over everything. At least that is the premise behind the new DLC for Borderlands - Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Wait, you didn't know there is some new DLC rolling out for Borderlands? Well consider this a nice little daily double, even though it is all wrapped into one package. /MindBlown I'll give you a moment to collect your thoughts again. Read More...
