World Of Warcraft Cataclysm Collector's Edition Announced
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 18th of August 2010 - 02:26 PM ]
In the tradition of Blizzard releases, today the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector's Edition was announced. Collectors of the World of Warcraft series will not be disappointed because everything Blizzard does for its fans is all here - from a full color art book to a starter deck of World of Warcraft TCG (featuring Worgen for the first time). Just like the Collector's Editions before, there will of course be an in-game pet. This time it's Deathwing, which is totally going to hang out with my Onyxia whelpling. Read More...

This time you will be fighting your way online in an all new free-to-play MMO. SOE Fan Faire Hands On: DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 01:17 PM ]
You would think that with E3 and Comic Con only two months and two weeks, respectively, before Sony Online's big Fan Faire, that there would not be all that much new to happen with DC Universe Online. At least that's what I thought as I arrived to see what SOE had on display for their "true fans" in Las Vegas, NV last weekend. But I was greatly surprised that I was wrong; something that I rarely admit to happening. First, there was a new instance being shown off: Joker's Carnivale. Read More...

Cataclysm Beta Brings Streaming Content
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 6th of August 2010 - 03:52 PM ]
For the lucky few that were chosen to rally together and fight the new horrors of Azeroth in the World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Beta test, a pretty big update was currently launched. The new clients, which can be downloaded from your battle.net account page, fully re-installs the beta test and showcases Blizzard's new streaming content feature; so you can download while you play. What does all this mean? Can't I just login the same way I have been since the start? Read More...

Review: All Points Bulletin
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 4th of August 2010 - 06:00 PM ]
Being an MMO fan, and always having a strong interest in online games it was a nice gesture that I would get a chance to review Real Time Worlds' All Points Bulletin. APB is a unique game, since it attempts to stand out and make changes to an MMO formula by giving players a new design in the Action-MMO world. Sometimes change is not a good thing. So let's jump right into it. Read More...

The Sights Of Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of July 2010 - 06:59 PM ]
We got a release date for the game and a view of what the PC box will look like, but what about an update on what the game looks like. We haven't had a good one of those since around the time of E3. Am I right? Of course I am. Well let's take a look at some of the new creatures to kill and environments to come to us this September 30th. Having had actual hands-on with the beta of the game, I can assure you that what you see below is what the in-game will look like; if you have a system that can handle it. Some of the creatures look a bit new, but I will say I am a fan that they went back to the original look of the Bombs. Read More...

The Cataclysm Is Upon Us
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 6th of July 2010 - 04:47 PM ]
The Cataclysm is coming, and the Warcraft universe will change yet again. According to Blizzard's press release the Beta for World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion has begun and invites are being sent out to players who opted in on battle.net. If you got in, you should receive an e-mail notification, or login to your battle.net account and see if you have been selected. Cataclysm boasts two new classes, the Goblin and the Worgen, and will bring players back home to Azeroth where the world has literally been rocked by the biggest baddest dragon we've seen so far. Finally A Date For Final Fantasy XIV
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 1st of July 2010 - 03:56 PM ]
The fantasy is back and it is never final as Square-Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV will have a global PC release date of September 30th. For those who will get the Collector's Edition, they will be able to access the game eight days prior to the Standard Edition. The prices for the Standard and Collector's Edition are $49.99 and $74.99, respectively, which is really not that bad for what they offer in the Collector's Edition. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of June 2010 - 03:04 PM ]
Now here is a title that I was overly excited to get to look at, and that is all I planned on happening this year at E3. Little did I know we would actually get to play hands on this up-and-coming bad-ass "sequel" in the Final Fantasy franchise. Hands-on with two of the major components for an MMO to boot: the character creation and a bit of the combat system. Let me break them down into two sections for you, with pictures. At least screen shots since pictures were not taken too kindly in the sectioned off tent in the Square Enix booth. Read More...

BioWare and Lucas Arts were at E3 this year and they brought along a playable demo with some more videos for Star Wars: The Old Republic and it's design. First off if you haven't seen the 'Hope' cinematic yet, I highly advise that you do. After that I'm going to tell you and show you a little more about some inner workings of the game. Go ahead and watch...I'll wait. Read More...

Battlestar Galactica Online MMO teaser
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 16th of June 2010 - 06:24 AM ]
The Cylons are coming to invade your web browser. Bigpoint, a developer of web browser games, are currently working with NBC Universal and SyFy to bring this new MMO to browsers everywhere - just in time for E3.  Not too long ago we heard that Bigpoint had just picked up the rights to build a Battlestar Galactica MMO, and now we have our first look. Below is only a teaser trailer, so it's hard to tell if we are watching some game play video or in-browser cinematic.  Either way, it looks pretty snazzy. Read More...

Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock Unveiled
by Brian Goodman [ Friday, 4th of June 2010 - 04:41 PM ]
For all of you who think you don't have enough undersized plastic guitars littering your dorm rooms, publisher Activision and developer Neversoft (previously of Tony Hawk fame) have announced the 6th major installment of its flagship Guitar Hero franchise. What's new this time around you may ask? That's an interesting question with a long winded answer (is there any other kind from me?). Guitar Hero: Warrior of Rock will tout a full featured story mode narrated by and starring Gene Simmons of Kiss and Family Guy fame. Read More...

Sony Gets Another Star Wars MMO
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 2nd of June 2010 - 03:23 PM ]
Sony Online Entertainment is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe, but I guess they couldn't wait any longer for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Frankly neither can we. SOE is going live today with their latest MMO title - Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. Sony's new Clone Wars title is geared specifically for the younger generation of Star Wars fans, and avid watchers of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Obviously with Sony's success with the Free Realms franchise, kids and micro-transactions go together like peanut butter and bananas. Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures will be free-to-play, but will also utilize the Sony Online Store cash system for players to purchase items, outfits and accessories. Read More...

How Tough Are The Streets In APB
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of May 2010 - 02:55 PM ]
From the look of things, they are extremely tough - even after the elected officials legalize vigilantism. That is music to our ears for what we are being promised for EA and Realtime Worlds' MMO APB. We want them to be rough and gruff. It is a action MMO version of Cops and Robbers after all. If you want to see for yourself how rough the streets are going to be, watch the trailer/opening cinematic for yourself. You'll get to see how no one really cares about graffiti in this town. Not to mention, you'll see a bit more of some in game action. Read More...
