Rock Band 4 has been officially announced by Harmonix and is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One this year It's been rumored and speculated on and now we can confirm that Rock Band is making the jump to the PS4 and Xbox One via Rock Band 4. Granted this isn't in any shape of an HD "remaster" of any past version as the speculation pointed at, it is a whole new Rock Band for the next generation consoles. The next best part about this announcement is that Rock Band 4 will be hitting our homes sometime this year. A new trailer for Amplitude and gameplay mode have been revealed by Harmonix for the upcoming PS3 and PS4 crowd-funded title It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I had my hands on Amplitude and now we are getting the next major update for the multiplayer coming with the game. Over on the PlayStation Blog it was just announced that Amplitude will have a team based multiplayer mode added into the mix for the new edition of the game. The reasons behind this being to combat the issue of friends getting together to party play and one of them just happens to be an Amplitude master; thus making the whole experience pretty crappy for the rest of the new players to the game. The team from Harmonix working on Amplitude have updated their Kickstarter informing that the game will now be delayed until this summer for the PS3 and PS4 Sad news for all of us out there who were hoping to be playing Amplitude this coming March. We will not be playing the game this coming March as the game has now been delayed until sometime this summer. This sad update comes directly from the team over at Harmonix working on Amplitude via the Kickstarter updates. In the wake of some new Rock Band DLC, Harmonix has issued out a new survey that could mean a new title or next gen port If you signed up for Rock Band's newsletter or linked your games to Harmonix's web accounts then you might have received a nice little email recently asking you to take a survey. If you did not, then A you are missing out and B you would not have been asked directly about all of your past Rock Band experiences. While At The PlayStation Experience I Was Able To Check Out Amplitude; A Reboot Of The Famed Harmonix Game Of Yore We all wanted Amplitude and we all are getting Amplitude for the PS3 and PS4 thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign for the game. If you're a fan of Rock Band, like me, then you should know that there is a crap load of songs for DLC. So many in fact that over the past week they broke the 4,000th song mark for their franchise. I don't know about you guys, but over 4,000 songs to choose from? That is an amazing feat. I've been playing Rock Band since the very first one, and had a ball playing through the second and third installments of the franchise. Harmonix has announced the full set list for the upcoming Rock Band Blitz. Rock Band Blitz is the first game to ditch the plastic instruments of past games in the series. If you don’t know what to expect from Rock Band Blitz it’s a beat matching game much like Amplitude or Audio Surf. Below is the full set list of 25 songs that will come with the game. Today Harmonix gave us an update on next week's DLC. We have two new tracks from Foreigner, "I want to know what love is" and "Waiting for a girl like you", which is cool, everyone loves Foreigner. But what really stuck out was the third song, a song by the symphonic power metal band: Nightwish. With their song "Amaranth" off of their 2007 album "Dark Passion Play" This is the first Nightwish song to become available on any Rock Band or even Rock Band Network. Definitely an interesting track they picked, there are a lot of different styles of songs for Nightwish, mainly because they go through lead singers like water. If you guys don't already know I am an avid Rock Band player. I started playing rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero came out, and I've been playing ever since. Over the years I have sunk a lot of money into the DLC, at the moment I have two-hundred and thirteen downloaded songs and I wish to share my favorites with you guys. Hopefully I can persuade you into buying a song or two. That's right ladies and gentlemen - Rush's twenty minute long epic "2112" is finally coming to Rock Band. The masterpiece will be available for download on December 31st. PS3 and XBox 360 users will have the option to either purchase and play each song separately or get the whole twenty minute "eargasm" as one song. So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." Though we already knew that Rock Band 3 was adding in a new instrument and a "Learn To Play Real Instruments" mode, it's how they went about it that changes the genre. Since this year's E3, there has only really been one launch title for the Microsoft Kinect that I've had even the most remote interest in: Dance Central. Today, Harmonix released the complete track listing for the game and although the 32 tracks seems a bit light - after being accustomed to receiving 85 tracks on a Rock Band disc - I will say the Harmonix team did an excellent job in the selection department. Sure it has the stereotypical DDR-like songs ("Funky Town", "Brick House", "Jungle Boogie"), but when you look a little bit deeper, I think you'll agree there is more than a few songs where you're beginning to hear the beat in your head and a smile is creeping onto your face. We are getting closer to the launch of Rock Band 3 every day. That is the way time works. It also seems with each passing day some new bit of news about the keyboard peripheral show up, or at least gets rehashed with the guise of being new. It's either that or the guys over at Harmonix don't think that we gamers really understand that the new keyboards are coming out and will change part of the way the game is played.
