<UPDATE> So because media outlets got the jump on confirming all the tracks in Rock Band 3 Harmonix decided to come out and "un-officially" confirm the rumors listed below. Way to try to cover up your mess there. But this isn't an announcement no matter how you try to play it. You guys screwed up and this is damage control. Just call it as it is. Source </UPDATE> You would think that in the "YouTube" generation everyone would realize that there are cameras everywhere. Read More...

More Songs Revealed For Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of August 2010 - 04:43 PM ]
Today more songs were revealed for Harmonix's Dance Central at Gamescom 2010. Currently one of the only games worth purchasing Microsoft's Kinect, Dance Central combines music, fun and dancing to create an experience unlike any other. I know that phrase is used an awful lot in this industry, but after experiencing it for myself at E3, I can definitively say I will purchase a XBox 360 and a Kinect specifically for this title. With today's announcement, the song list increases to 20. With only 30+ songs promised on the disc, you may be concerned about the depth of the roster, but with a list that now includes Rihanna's "Pon de Replay" and Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam", I don't think you have too much to worry about. E3 2010 Hands-On: Rock Band 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 19th of June 2010 - 04:53 AM ]
This year at E3 had us taking a sneak peek at what was coming to Rock Band 3, including 22 of the promised 80+ songs set planned to be released. We also finally got to see what the new controllers from MadCatz and Fender will look like. But at E3 2010, they had so much more to show, as you hopefully read from Brian's, Binh's and my twitter accounts. If you haven't, or just really want to know what our thoughts are for it, let me break it down DJ Lance Rock style. First, they have completely redesigned the HUD/GUI for the game. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: Dance Central
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 17th of June 2010 - 12:49 AM ]
From the moment you step in front of Dance Central to the moment you take your first steps, any intimidation or fear or even two left feet get washed away.  Harmonix – makers of Rock Band (don’t worry if you haven’t heard of it) – are releasing a Microsoft Kinect launch title that will literally help you take your first steps into the world of dance.Seeing this title in action during the Microsoft Press Conference, Dance Central was easily the Kinect title that would drive the Kinect forward.  Stepping up to the screen and using Kinect was a relatively simple process and the Dance Central interface is simple and intuitive. Review: Green Day Rock Band
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 15th of June 2010 - 01:17 PM ]
Green Day Rock Band is a steady mixture of what you love from Harmonix – play style that is both easy to jump into and addictive  – and what you hate about Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise – it feels repetitive and old.  With Rock Band 2 a couple years past and Rock Band 3 on the way, it raises the question of how annual they expect to make the franchise and still get people to pay for it. This title is the spiritual successor to the infinitely popular The Beatles Rock Band released last year.  That release was a great boon and innovation for the folks at Harmonix. Read More...

Green Day Rock Band Release Dated
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 12th of March 2010 - 02:39 PM ]
Upon hearing the announcement of Green Day: Rock Band at the Video Game Awards, my face had a perplexed look that went deeper than when Jack Black pretended to freak out on stage at the beginning of the show. Completely unexpected, Harmonix chose Green Day as their follow-up band to give an exclusive title. So, the Beatles... then, Green Day. Read More...

Another South Park Song To Hit Rock Band
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 01:41 AM ]
While it is not Shitty Shitty Fag Fag or Blame Canada or even Uncle Fucker, it is one of the most amazing remixes and product placements in South Park in almost forever. I'm talking a little ditty that was featured with "Rock Band" during the episode of Whale Whores. Yea, that's right. Joining Timmy and The Lords Of The Underworld, artist and song title, is Eric Cartman's perfect rendition of Poker Face. A song that when I hear it gets stuck in my head for days. The Cartman version at least. Read More...

Rock Band To Let You Play The Super Bowl Half Time Show
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of February 2010 - 03:41 PM ]
Well as long as you have a version of Rock Band that allows for DLC to be added onto your game. That and wait until after the game to buy the track from the Rock Band store. Like you would break anyways right. Between the Super Bowl it's self and the Super Bowl Commercials, when would you find the time anyways. Well that and if you are not too drunk buy then, but now I'm flowing off topic. Any Who, the fine minds over at Harmonix have gotten a hold of what The Who are going to be performing during the Half Time show. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of January 2010 - 02:17 PM ]
Just as promised, the Rock Band Network is up and running starting now. That's right, get ready for the flood of unknown musicians of every genre to start flowing on your XBox Live stores and shortly after on the PSN. Shortly meaning about a month later after getting the XBox exclusive treatment and testing out of the way. But that's neither here nor there for the actual news here. The big thing her is that now for the low cost of about $100 dollars, any musician can record and publish their own tracks to the Rock Band Store. Read More...

What I Want: Rock Band Franchise
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 14th of December 2009 - 12:47 AM ]
What I Want: From the Rock Band Franchise Recently I played Beatles: Rock Band and Lego Rock Band, and while one was looking back at a band's career and the other was geared to a younger crowd, they both did something that really caught my attention. They had a story, not just creating a band and playing songs at venues. You actually had a story to some gigs or had special concerts you held. I came to an instant revelation at this point. Review: The Beatles Rock Band
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 6th of September 2009 - 07:51 PM ]
They reigned the charts for decade as an active band. They continued this reign even long after the fab four all went their own ways perusing their own interests. Their songs have been used in every other form of media ever since. Hell, they even have a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas that has been going strong since 2006. Now The Beatles have started to dominate the gaming industry with the latest iteration of Rock Band, which is one of the greatest rhythm games ever, in my opinion. The Beatles Rock Band is a 45 track version of Rock Band, with planned expansions. Read More...
