I've been playing Rock Band since the very first one, and had a ball playing through the second and third installments of the franchise. I can't wait for a fourth installment, if there is ever going to be one. I hope so. Anyways, I made a list of some of the bands and songs that are on the Rock Band Music Store and the Rock Band Network. So enjoy.
- Iron Maiden
- Slipknot
- Kansas - "Carry On My Wayward Son"
- Hewie Lewis and the News - "Power of Love"
- Megadeth
- Slayer
- Dave Matthews Band
- Sublime
- Nightwish
- Foo Fighters
- Alice In Chains
- Stevie Ray Vaughan
It's been over five years since Harmonix has been releasing DLC for the Rock Band franchise, and they will continue to release new songs and new bands to add to their ever-growing library. This week's DLC has two 80's classics from Kenny Loggins, and over forty Green Day songs that used to be only available on the Green Day: Rock Band disc. We got the theme from the 1980 classic movie "Caddyshack" titled "I'm Alright" and the theme from the 1984 classic called "Footloose" with song of the same name. This song will feature support for keyboards and pro guitar / pro bass.
The Green Day DLC will include:
Green Day Pack 04
- Geek Stink Breath
- Nice Guys Finish Last
- Hitchin' a Ride
Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown album (Single songs only available on the Wii) will be available for $19.99 USD / 9.99 UK (1600 Microsoft Points) and 200 Wii Points per song. Their albums "American Idiot" $17.99 / 8.99 (1440 MSP / 1800 Wii Points) and "Dookie" $19.99 / 9.99 (1600 MSP / 2000 Wii Points). Both albums will have their individual songs for DLC (American Idiot for $1.99 / 0.99 (160 MSP / 200 Wii Points) and Dookie for $0.99 / 0.59 (80 MSP / 100 Wii Points))
I'm not a huge fan of Green Day, but for all of you who are, most of these songs will not offer support for Keyboards or Pro guitar / Pro Bass upgrades. But there are a couple that will, for Pro Guitar / Pro Bass at least. Sorry all you keyboard players. Those songs are "American Idiot" and "When I Come Around"
I'm blown away that Rock Band has over 4,000 songs to choose from in their arsenal. Now, let's see if we can get some Sevendust, Blind Guardian, Metallica, and Black Sabbath songs on there. Yeah? What songs would you like to see join the Rock Band army of DLC? Let us know!
Almost forgot. Here is the official email announcement:
"HEY GANG! Rock Band has just hit an absolutely MONSTROUS milestone in the last week, as we've added the 4,000th song to the music library! We're currently featuring over 1,400 different artists and we're stoked to offer the largest song selection of any music game out there. A huge chunk of those songs come to us courtesy of the Rock Band Network (in fact, the 4,000th song was an RBN release), so epic thanks to all the bands, labels and authors hustling to bring their songs to the game. We're still releasing new content every week, so keep posted for DLC announcements on Fridays as we continue to build on Rock Band's already gigantic set list!." |
