Viva La Claptrap Revolution!

Back in early August we mentioned the new DLC for Borderlands, Claptrap New Robot Revolution. It is bring a bunch of additions to the game, as we mentioned, as well as being included in the GOTY Edition, also mentioned. So what new do we have for you? Not a solid release date, but I'm willing to bet on 9/14, 9/21 or 9/28 if 2K and Gearbox want to keep their September time frame originally mentioned. It is, as you've most likely glanced already, a set of new screens and posters for the DLC. Nothing too revealing, but something to make you look at and give a thought about dropping the $9. Borderlands Giving Out DLC For Free

Isn't it always the case now? Everyone is out to make a buck one way or another at the expense of our pockets. The recent price hike for XBL is a good example of that. What you may have missed is the push for Game of the Year (GOTY) or Special Edition versions of games that come loaded with all that expensive DLC pumped out after game launch. Obviously this is simply a play to grab all the people who didn't shell out cash to make sure the DLC was created. LittleBigPlanet and Batman: Arkham Asylum are great examples here of this. Ninjas & Robots Team Up, Nothing Good Can Come Of This

Let's Get Super Naughty With Naughty Bear

You know for a game that was not as widely accepted, outside of a small cult following, you would think that 505 Games and A2M would have moved on to another IP. But I guess it looks like Naughty Bear finally balled up and took them on to make his game even better. Better by adding in a whole new level, bear types, costumes and more to the story of Naughty Bear. Looks like the bears on the Island of Perfection have yet another scheme to take Naughty on with. Minerva's Den Is Where All The Cool DLC Was Hidden

Just when you thought that maybe there was nothing left to be done in BioShock 2 another DLC pack is sent our way. First it was more multiplayer. Then it was more "single" player in the form of harvesting challenges. Let's see what 2K Game is going to try and milk us for this time. Spawn More Overlord, Mass Effect Style

A new DLC is "coming soon" for one of this year's major titles. Of course I am talking about Mass Effect 2. Today BioWare has announced the Overload DLC for XBox 360 and PC. When sent to investigate a Cerberus research base that's mysteriously gone silent, Shepard arrives to find Geth overrunning the base. The sole survivor Chief Scientist Archer, pains a dire picture: an experiment to fuse a human volunteer with a virtual intelligence created a hybrid “VI overlord”. Mini Review: Dante's Inferno: Trials Of Lucida

Brian G Asks: WTF is up with DLC?

It's an exciting time to be a gamer because there is definitely a lot of pivotal stuff going on in our industry right now. Today I want to go on about a reasonably new development of an old concept. Expansion packs have been around since the mid 90's in the PC world. Back when the PC dinosaurs ruled the video game landscape (and just about any game could be played on any computer without a video card that costs more than a PS3), if there was a successful game, a half a year or so later we would see an expansion pack. People who enjoyed a game could purchase more content for around $20 to $30-ish. Hands On 'The Passing' Released For L4D2

So Valve announced the first DLC package for L4D2 a while ago and it is finally here to bring us more zombie killin' goodness. The "carrot" that they have been enticing us with is a major "change" to the cast of the L4D universe, and true to word there is one less survivor running around taking all the pills and startling the witch. *Note* I will try to keep this write up spoiler free for those of you who have not had a chance to run through it. I fired up Steam where the content is free (560 points if you play on the New Jersey of online gaming XBL) and loaded up the single player campaign mode to blow through as fast as I could. Mini Review: Resident Evil 5: Desperate Escape

This review has a few spoilers for Resident Evil 5 in it. This DLC takes place near the end of the game and talks about some major story parts. If you have yet to play Resident Evil 5 all the way through, you have been warned. Just when you think you have seen all you have of Resident Evil 5, Capcom adds in yet more to the story. Well at least they expand on the story by showing you what some of the other characters were up to while Chris and Sheva were off saving the world from the Zompocalypse. Dante's Inferno Getting All Saintly

In just under a month, the next batch of DLC for Dante's Inferno will be hitting XBox Live, and the PlayStation Network. It will be bringing two new modes with it, multiplayer and "build-your-own-challenge" mode. Also a few new enemies to add to the roster. Although I'm going to say that they are going to be slightly altered models from the main game with a new coat of paint. Look at the last DLC that came out. Little IncrediBig Planet

They have had many "guests" come through their game, including the Pirates of the Carribean, the comedic antics of the Ghostbusters, the vengeance soaked Ezio from Assassin's Creed II, the borderline confusing narrative prowess of the Watchmen, the grizzled veterans of the Metal Gear Solid series, and many more.
