So just as Sony did when GoWIII was hitting its console, Epic is doing the same for GoW3 for the 360. Those titles being God of War III and Gears of War 3 respectfully before I move on. Well here is an interesting twist to the whole Final Fantasy XIII ten year plan. Just announced is the oddly named Final Fantasy XIII-2, a continuation to the story of FFXIII. I say it is odd because Square Enix tried this before with FFX-2 which didn't do as well as any of their wholly new story lined titles with Final Fantasy in the title. Well here's an interesting little tidbit of news. Any gamer that purchases Portal 2 on the PlayStation 3 will get FREE access to play the game from their Steam client. Think like a digital copy that comes with most BluRay films nowadays. Oh, but wait, there is more. Not only do you get a "free" copy of the game for PC, and technically Mac, but the two systems will be able to communicate with each other to allow for co-op play between the PS3 and PC/Mac. Ok, so I might have to eat my previous words about the reboot for Tomb Raider. I may have been a bit quick to judge but in my defense that was back before anything real or tangible had been seen. At last year's CES we were introduced to a product called Sixense. It was a motion controller being made by one of the smaller companies Razor had under its wing. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow came and went. It was a great addition to the franchise in my opinion but the replay on the game is almost nonexistent. Once you beat the main game and then clean up the challenges and Paladin play-through there really is not much more to do with the game. It just sits on the shelf collecting dust like all of tomes in the Vampire's castle. What do you do after you announce that your latest game has gone over the $1 Billion dollar worldwide sales mark? You announce some DLC to keep that game going strong. Activision announced today its first DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops entitled First Strike. The new DLC Map pack is slated for February 1, 2011 to be released on XBox Live. “We’re committed to supporting Call of Duty: Black Ops fans with continuous updates to the game and exciting new content that will keep our community engaged,” said Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. The map pack will include four new maps: Kowloon - Kowloon city in china, except this time on rooftops Berlin Wall - Located in Berlin at the infamous Checkpoint Charlie Discovery - an Antarctic research station Stadium - takes place at a hockey rink in the US A new Zombie map called "Ascension" will also be included in the map pack, but no details on that one yet. No I'm not saying that Bulletstorm is going to be the stop gap in the need for Gears Of War 3. It will however score you a slot in the GoW3 beta. Well at least if you preorder the "Epic Edition" of Bulletstorm that is coming to the XBox 360. There is no price difference for the "Epic Edition" from any standard price for a new title ($59.99) but there are a few extras outside of the Gears beta. After almost two decades since the last Splatterhouse game released on the Sega Genesis, we finally received a reboot of sorts. Well, it's more along the lines of a retelling - backed by the power of the new technology we only dreamt of way back then.
