Brought To The Brink Of Stereotypes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of March 2010 - 07:33 PM ]
Who's ready to see some new footage of Bethesda's up coming title Brink? I know I am. Now if only we had some new footage. Oh wait, we totally do, and it is awesome. Even though it is a pre-rendered video with no in-game spliced in at all it still captures a bit of the essence of the game. The humor, action, and difference between character classes. If you want to call them classes and not professions here. One thing I find a bit interesting is the stereotypes that Bethesda uses in the video, and maybe in the game. Read More...

Trailer Week For Nintendo & Bungie
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 6th of March 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
Halo and Metroid. Two major household names in the gaming industry. Well a few days ago Bungie and Nintendo released trailers for Halo: Reach multi-player and Metroid Other M. To be honest with you all, I thought the Halo trailer really spoke volumes on what the multi-player will be like with a few nice additions to the game. Metroid Other M on the other hand was a bit disappointing. Metroid is probably THE only game for me that I DO NOT want voice acting at all! Read More...

Not Your Parents Clash Of The Titans
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 12:30 AM ]
Only a little more than a month away until the "remake" of the classic 1981 Clash Of The Titans hits theaters. For those who are early 80's movie retarded, it was a retelling of the Greek story of Perseus' persecution. Albeit a bit skewed from the original tale for film purposes, but a fun clay-mation driven film. The new film a deviation from the original from the looks of things, and not just the modern effects and CGI, but a bit of the story. The film is not what this is all about though. Read More...

The Force Is Strong With George Lucas' Wallet
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 24th of February 2010 - 04:20 PM ]
For a game that many people wrote off for shoddy controls and questionable graphical quality, The Force Unleashed has reached the "sold seven million units worldwide" mark. The charm of the title was perhaps not that it was a new entry in the Star Wars canon, but that it was somewhat decent and not a BioWare title. For me, it was the combination of finally feeling in control of a being that was a serious Force-powerhouse and getting a fresh spin on what can sometimes be a very stale mythology. Lucasarts is not satisfied with this meager accomplishment and is already pushing forward on a sequel that is coming this year. Read More...

The Secret World's Monster Blog
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of February 2010 - 05:22 PM ]
God I love viral marketing. Especially the kind of viral marketing that draws you in deeper and deeper to find out very little about what is being advertised. Or at least when the details are so cryptic you don't get much out of it, but still want more. Something that Funcom has been doing for almost a year now with The Secret World. Just "dug up" on the great internets is a blog that shows it has been running since November of last year. A blog run by a "conspiracy theorist" showing images of creatures that are wandering around in the sleepy little town of Kingsmouth. Read More...

A Different Look At Kingsmouth From The Secret World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of February 2010 - 09:30 PM ]
Looking at the below new assets for Funcom's upcoming MMO The Secret World, the excitement is back after the very lack-luster gameplay video they threw out there to entice us all. I still attest that it was pretty bad for the first real video for the game. But in any instance, like I said, the new screen shots totally make up for it. While it is hard to tell if these are stylized in-game shots or just concepts done up in an art department, they are still great pieces of eye candy. Although, like Alan Wake the jeep crash looks a bit too Silent Hill it still is intriguing. Read More...

Brave Arms: The Facebook FPS
by Kevin [ Friday, 5th of February 2010 - 10:57 PM ]
3G Studios just announced that they would be crafting a first person "social shooter" for Facebook, arguably the most popular social networking site on the net. It seemed like this was in the making, the idea of a Facebook as a platform for more robust content (i.e. something a little more in-depth than say Farmville or Mafia Wars). As more and more companies seek to establish a presence on sites like Facebook, like EA staking their claim for instance by picking up Playfish, this seemed like a natural progression. So what does 3G Studios have in mind? Read More...

Get Teased Like In Vegas With Fallout: New Vegas
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of February 2010 - 10:44 PM ]
Who want's to get teased? Who wants to get teased about Fallout: New Vegas? I see you with your hand and heart in the air. Yes you right there. Stop pretending that I am not talking to you. We all know you want to see a small glimpse at what is kind of to come with New Vegas. If you don't, then please step out and check out the other articles on AggroGamer here. Ok, now that it is just us here who want to salivate over the new teaser for New Vegas, let me say this, it doesn't really tell a whole lot about what is going on the the game. It is a nicely rendered video showing what were expecting, a nice shiny city in the middle of a huge waste land with a few high tech robots picking up stuff. Read More...

by Kevin [ Wednesday, 3rd of February 2010 - 12:44 AM ]
The Behemoth, the cats responsible for Newgrounds, Alien Hominid, and Castle Crashers have given a name and a trailer for their newest title, "BatttleBlock Theater" (formerly "Game 3"). The plot is described over at the The Behemoth's official blog as, "Having been shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems. Read More...

The Secret World Welcomes You With In-Game Footage
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of February 2010 - 09:54 PM ]
Up until now there has been little shown on what is going on with Funcom's new MMO The Secret World. At least in the form of actual game play or what the game will actually look like. Yes there have been some great fully rendered videos that made the game look amazing, but that is not how the game will look when all is said and done. At least not at the current state of technology that is. But of course, those videos as I said were up until now. Read More...

Aggrogamer Presents: 2009 Games of the Year
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of February 2010 - 07:08 PM ]
When it comes to "Game of the Year" articles, they seem to all come out before the year is over. Is it a rush to be the first, or is it because no games really come out in December? Regardless, we at Aggrogamer decided it was best not to rush so we had time to play those few games that released in December. Everyone deserves a fair shot. We also thought of making just one list of our votes on Game of the Year, but instead settled on everyone coming up with their own lists and to forgo one single title as the Game of the Year. The Tester Bring Gamers Into Reality TV... Again
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of February 2010 - 06:24 PM ]
If you follow the PlayStation Blog or the official Twitter accounts for Sony, you have obviously heard that Sony is doing a reality show for the PSN specifically. A show called The Tester. The premise, eleven "gamers" live together and complete challenges to see who will win the big prize, to be a game tester for Sony. What is slated as the dream job for pretty much any gamer. Right? Kingsmouth And The Secret World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 25th of January 2010 - 08:02 PM ]
It has been a bit since we have had any good and fun news about Funcom's upcoming MMO The Secret World. Am I right or am I right? We are still waiting for the continuation of those cool and creepy videos they were pumping out over last Summer, but it doesn't look like that is coming just yet. But instead, it looks like they are starting another viral marketing scheme to get people interested. Marketing by, you guessed it, a "secret" website based on one of the game's cities and battle locations. Or at least how it is before the crap hits the fan. Read More...

Delays incoming
by Corey Dockendorf [ Saturday, 5th of December 2009 - 05:10 PM ]
The New Year is just around the corner, and players are anxiously awaiting a slew of games to be released in the 1rst quarter.  Well unfortunately some of the heavy hitters that were planned on being released have been announced as pushed back until later next year. Bethesda's shooter Brink which was scheduled to be released in spring of 2010, got pushed back to a fall release for all platforms.  Brink is the Splash Damage title that we have seen a few snippets of lately.  G4 just recently posted a new video on the title, highlighting the Smart Freedom of Movement system.
