Burning Down Gotham With The New Batman: Arkham Origins Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 22nd of August 2013 - 07:28 PM ]
With the below trailer straight out of Gamescom, we are up to five of the eight assassins hunting Batman in Arkham Origins now. There are still loads of other villains, NPCs and sidekicks announced as well, but now we can add Firefly to the list of killers. Also it looks like there might be some pretty damn cool fight/flight scenes mixed in with this new character as well. Keep an eye out in the trailer and you'll most likely see what I am talking about. Also keep an eye out in case you missed all of the other villains and NPCs that have been announced thus far as they are all interwoven into this pretty bad ass trailer. Read More...

Dead Rising 3's New Trailer Shows The Real Tone Of The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of August 2013 - 11:16 PM ]
Just in case you were still worried about the overall tone of Dead Rising 3 still being "too serious" and you've missed all the Twitter chatter about the game still having its light hearted side, then do I have a trailer for you. The new Gamescom trailer for DR3 is out and from what I saw at SDCC for the game, this is more the tone that Capcom is going for. I'll let you take a watch in peace for now. Yes it was all CG, but from the gameplay I've been shown, the levity of it all is captured perfectly here and, as seen, still carries over from its predecessors. Read More...

Here Is An Extended Look At Dying Light's Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 16th of August 2013 - 10:00 PM ]
It only took a few months, but the world has been gifted with what was for Dying Light behind doors back in June. Yes, I'm talking about the E3 press showing of the game. Although I do have to say that there are at least a few differences that I saw here that I didn't get to see before. One of which actually pin points one of the features. The feature I am talking about is the dynamic side missions. In the below video you will see a side mission with a little girl in a closet. Read More...

Review: Saints Row IV
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 16th of August 2013 - 03:59 PM ]
In 2006 Volition released the original Saints Row. Starting as a Grand Theft Auto clone, Saints Row has long since found its own identity. Here we are on the series' fourth installment and the game is even crazier and over the top than it ever has been. It's clear that Volition and Deep Silver held nothing back in the development of this latest Saints adventure. Saints Row IV takes place a little after Saints Row The Third. The leader of The Third Street Saints has been elected president of The United States. Read More...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Multiplayer Livestream
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of August 2013 - 05:00 PM ]
In case you haven't heard yet there is going to be a multiplayer mode in the upcoming Call Of Duty: Ghosts. I know right? I was shocked to find out about it. I just hope that it isn't some kind of tacked on last minute thing. I hate when that…oh wait… This just in, the multiplayer addition is nothing new to the franchise nor "tacked on." Well don't I have egg on my face…? Levity aside now. Read More...

So Dead Island: Epidemic Was Announced. Here's What We Know
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of August 2013 - 06:16 PM ]
So with Techland working on Dying Light it kind of surprises me to hear about Dead Island: Epidemic. Just how do they have the time? Oh wait a second…they aren't working on this. Also this is a ZOMBA title for the PC. That makes a bit more sense now even though it does lower my interest a little bit. While we have been promised more as we roll into Gamescom, here are all the details release outside of the game's genre. Obviously it is set in the world of Dead Island and Riptide. Read More...

The BioShock Infinite DLC Is Announced. Is It What Was Originally Promised?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of August 2013 - 05:59 PM ]
Here we go. Just the announcement that everyone who was a fan of BioShock Infinite has been waiting for; the DLC. Seems odd that so many people were pining for this DLC yet normally get pissed when publishers announce some cool little thing is going to end up being DLC at some point. So let's take a look at what is coming out/out at the time of publishing this story. Now I clearly remember being told that we were getting new story DLC out the gate or at least shortly after the release of the full game. It looks like we have here is more or less "challenge maps" instead. Read More...

What's The Good News From SDCC For Batman: Arkham Origins?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of July 2013 - 06:15 PM ]
Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. I guess it is more about getting the information out to the public directly and not through the filtered lenses of the media. Who knows? While I don't think much was shown on the floor or during their panel, there were a few little tidbits and a new trailer shown for the latest assassin, Copperhead, hunting The Bat. Read More...

The Massive Open World Of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 25th of July 2013 - 08:40 PM ]
All of the details leading up to now surrounding Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag have been pretty spectacular. Some of it has just been written details or descriptions from all of us bloggers out there. Luckily that is no longer going to be the case as we have a full view of the open world and special features in ACIV. Just in case you want to still go into the game blind, I'll give you a bit of the run down in text form. The big thing is the "openness" of the game's world. Read More...

Murdered: Soul Suspect... Now With E3 Walkthrough
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 09:27 PM ]
Words can paint an amazing picture and level of detail in the mind's eye. But you know what is better? Actually getting to see things with your own eyes. We have just that for Murder: Soul Suspect straight from E3. Well at least Square Enix and Airtight games were nice enough to provide us and the world with a wonderful view of what they were showing in their booth at E3. While I will do the self serving thing and point you to my full write up, it was mostly based off what you are going to get to see in the next 25 minutes. You also don't have to wait in the long line to check it out, so there is that bonus too. Read More...

Splinter Cell Blacklist Goes Back To Its Roots
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 12th of July 2013 - 04:59 PM ]
Many old school fans of Ubisoft's Splinter Cell series were disappointed with Conviction's heavier focus on action. Ubisoft realized this and added a new difficulty mode to Blacklist called Perfectionist Mode. Intended for Splinter Cell purists this mode removes your mark/execute ability and takes away your ability to see through walls with Sam's sonar goggles. This mode increases enemy difficulty in both stealth and combat as well as does not allow players to restock ammo at supply caches. This mode is really unique because it brings the series back to the original three games in the franchise where the only thing that you have to rely on is your night vision goggles and the shadows. Happy Independence Day! Here's A Saints Row IV Trailer To Celebrate
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of July 2013 - 08:26 PM ]
It's Independence Day in the U.S. and what better way to celebrate it with blowing up a part of it and pretending that you fully understand what our rights, freedoms, and the day its self is all about. Don't worry this isn't a preachy thing about to start, but an intro for the latest trailer for Saints Row IV that just happens to have all of the above things mentioned displayed in the most eccentric way possible. It also includes an 8 bit text adventure reference for all of you nostalgia hunting humans out there. Isn't that lovely? Read More...

Here's What I Got To Play Of Saints Row IV At E3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 1st of July 2013 - 10:57 PM ]
While at E3 a few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to sit and play Saints Row IV. I just recently began enjoying the franchise so I was a little curious as to where everything was heading towards in the franchise. I am sure that if you are in here reading right now, you are in the same boat I was in. Luckily for you though, instead of regaling you with all the fancy words and metaphors of how the game played, I'll just throw you a bone and show you the demo that we were allowed to play. The video below does have a bit of the actual story mixed in so Spoiler Alert. Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: Dying Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of June 2013 - 06:09 PM ]
Dying Light was one of the first games I got to sit in and watch at E3 and it was also one of the titles that really caught my attention leading up to the show. I completely enjoyed both of the Dead Island games and was interested to see how the FPS zombie genre was going to be changed as to make this a truly new IP for us gamers. Then I was a bit let down by essentially being shown Dead Island, with a few upgrades, mixed with the basics of Mirror's Edge. This isn't a horrible combination, but it doesn't really create anything completely new. Read More...

E3 2013 Impression: Mad Max
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 21st of June 2013 - 11:00 PM ]
I was born when Mad Max 2 hit the big screen and I was barely four when Beyond Thunderdome came out, but that still didn't stop me from enjoying the films, and the NES game, in my youth. You can only imagine my excitement when I saw the announcement trailer for Mad Max during the Sony press conference. Even though it was all CGI, Avalanche Studios had an Alpha build of the game in the Warner Bros. booth to show to all of us eager fans. Read More...
