Sounds Like Batman Knows What's Going On In Injustice: Gods Among Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of September 2012 - 10:04 PM ]
So details about the story of Injustice have been sparse and they still are. Even the full character roster has still not fully been disclosed. But there has been a lot of fun game play since the announcement and first public showing. Now that TGS is in full swing, it would make sense that there is a new trailer for the game. So you shall see that and a few new screen shots below. But before you dig in there is something I want to bring attention to. Read More...

God of War: Ascension Gets Furious… I Mean Furies
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of September 2012 - 10:19 PM ]
So we've seen some of the basic enemies. We've seen the Elephantor. How about some enemies that are part of the ancient cultures that God Of War: Ascension is borrowing from. In this case the Furies or Erinyes depending which you go by. In this case though it looks like Santa Monica Studios is going with the three named Furies for Kratos to rip apart. As will be seen below the first to be shown is Megaera, the jealous one. I'm still trying to understand the spider-like look that has been given to her, especially when it would be easier to just include Arachne and call it a day. Read More...

Just like before, I won't be starting with the basics this time. If you want that, check out our review of the second episode of The Walking Dead. That should get you up to speed so you can dive right into episode three. So without further adieu. Story Just as before the story picks up shortly after the events of the last episode. Tensions run higher than ever and the group is forced to leave their base camp. Read More...

Cat Woman Joins The Cast Of Injustice: Gods Among Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of August 2012 - 10:14 PM ]
Well this was pretty much expected. Cat Woman has just been confirmed as a new playable character for Injustice: Gods Among Us and below is a video showcasing what she can do and take in the game. As is to be expected she is fast, agile and able to whip the other characters from DC universe into shape. That is if she is not trying to kill them with cheesy one-liners of the feline nature instead. I will say that I am a bit curious by the fact that she has an RPG as an attack in the game given all of the other things they could have used. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode One Hundred Two: Looking Forward to Fall
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 17th of August 2012 - 06:27 PM ]
You are shocked. Brian, Corey and Matt return to the Aggrocast after only one week. Topic for this episode is looking forward to the fall release lineup. Yes, the guys promised to do it quarterly, but why not just have one good blowout episode with our excitement abounding for games like Assassins Creed III, Far-Cry 3, Torchlight II and Halo 4. The guys also spend a few not-so-quiet minutes revisiting last week's debate on Facebook games. While you're listening, don't miss out on Whatcha Been Playing, the Community Spotlight and another 5-question Care / Don't Care. Read More...

Remember When Remember Me Was Announced? Or Did You?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of August 2012 - 04:21 PM ]
So here's another new IP announcement that came out of Gamescom. Remember Me is a new game coming out of Dontnod Entertainment and Capcom that looks a lot like Assassin's Creed and Deus Ex all mixed in with Inception. I'm talking the game play of those game titles and the messing with people's thoughts to manipulate their actions from the film. Hopefully that paints a decent picture in your head about it. If not, of course you can look below for a better version. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode One Hundred One: Niching the MMO
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 8th of August 2012 - 09:27 PM ]
Brian, Corey and Matt return the Aggrocast to former glories. Before you ask whether or not the Aggrocast had glory to begin with, think about how you view Massively Multiplayer Online games. Now that you're thinking about MMOs and how to categorize them, join the guys as they discuss business models, how to categorize MMOs and whether they are dropping out of the mainstream. The debate further continues as they discuss what constitutes a MMO and where this genre is going. While you're listening, don't miss out on Whatcha Been Playing, the Community Spotlight and a special 5-question Care / Don't Care. Read More...

The Phoenix Rises
by Jonathan Dean [ Monday, 6th of August 2012 - 04:49 PM ]
Hello one and all! My name is Jonathan Dean, and I’m thrilled to be one of the newest members of the writing team here at Aggrogamer.com. Let’s see, what is there to know about me? I've been playing games mostly since high school, and as the title suggests, my gamer tag for the Xbox 360 is PhoenixFusion1. I personally prefer games with heavy story and substance, probably due in fact to being a fiction writer and movie buff. I wasn't introduced to the gaming world until my junior high school years. The Disappearance Of Single Player
by Greg Tatterfield [ Wednesday, 1st of August 2012 - 09:49 PM ]
Remember the time when you placed a new game in your game console and you could expect an epic and memorable single player experience? I am among those gamers who remember having that full-blown experience with every new game that graced my console. As an old school gamer that owned all the major systems since the 90s I see a disturbing trend that could spell trouble for fans of single player games. The problem is that single player seems to be becoming extinct. It’s no secret that online multiplayer has became exceptionally popular among the current generation of gamers. Read More...

Two More Characters Announced For Injustice: Gods Among Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 23rd of July 2012 - 10:07 PM ]
So not only is there a new game play trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but there are also two new characters announced for the game. Nightwing and Cyborg are those characters just to get the ball started here. Here's another set of characters that will be interesting to see in the game but not as unexpected as Solomon Grundy as mentioned in a previous article. Cool none the less. What I do find a bit more fun in the game play below is the showcasing of what looks like "fatality" style moves being performed. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode One Hundred: The Epic Reunion
by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 15th of June 2012 - 04:23 PM ]
This is it. The episode you've all been waiting for - number 100. I bring in a bunch of new and old friends to podcast together. We talk video games, last week's E3 and reminisce the humble beginnings of Aggrogamer and the Aggrocast. The first half of the show has regular characters Matt and Corey, as well as Aggrogamer's own Chief Editor, fresh from E3 2012, David Becker. I'm sure you'll be as surprised as I was to hear Matt with a static free microphone. We hit up a lot of topics, but chief among them is the recent hullabaloo over the "attempted rape" scene in Tomb Raider The second half of the show is a little lighter and full of nostalgia as I bring the band back together. E3 2012 Hands On: God Of War: Ascension - Multiplayer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 13th of June 2012 - 08:51 PM ]
Well here is one of the big games I was looking forward to seeing at E3 this year, God Of War: Ascension. Not just because it is another title for one of my favorite franchises, but because this time around Sony Santa Monica is adding in something I never would have thought would be in a God Of War title. That is Multiplayer for those of you who skipped reading the title. I have included the video and screens of the single player game play that was available at E3, but let's be honest there really isn't much they can change to the game's winning single player.
