by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 5th of January 2010 - 08:14 PM ]

And Thus The Hazard Drops
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 5th of January 2010 - 02:42 PM ]
A few months ago we reported on the parody-rich continuation of Matt Hazard's first adventure, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. This entry in the series, the downloadable Blood, Bath, and Beyond, is billed as a classic side-scroller to confront the evil General Neutronov, who has traveled back in time to capture 8-bit version of our hero. The strategy? Kill the original so that the current version of Matt will not exist to stop him. Read More...

Steam Achievements Added to Torchlight
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 23rd of December 2009 - 04:35 PM ]
We, as humans, are a competitive, goal-oriented species.  The category of humans known as gamers are characteristically more so.  So when little goals outside of the main game play were created on platforms this console generation (Achievements on Xbox 360 and Steam, trophies on the PS3), gamers took to them with a ferocity only matched by the public's outrage to the release of Coke 2.  The obsession with achievements has grown to the point that people will go out of their way to grind away for hours, simply to have the tiny extrinsic award.  As a bit of an afterthought and most likely a reward to the fans, last week Runic Games released over 60 achievements that may be earned on Steam for their critically acclaimed action-RPG Torchlight. Dante's Inferno Is Taking The PS3 To Hell Early
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of December 2009 - 03:42 AM ]
So in a time where exclusives can greatly help a console system, as long as the game is going to be a big one, it looks as if Sony just landed themselves half a big fish. A fish that is showing up on the XBox and the PSP as well. But it looks like the best version of Dante's Inferno, the game I'm talking about, is going to be on the PS3 and only the PS3. The next best part, FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST TO US GAMERS. Yea you read that, now love it. Read More...

Chuck Brings the Pain to Your Mobile Device: Review
by Kevin [ Thursday, 10th of December 2009 - 05:07 AM ]
One of the few game developers that has never ceased to amaze me is Gameloft. I don't know what their development philosophy is, but it has consistently led to some great gaming experiences on mobile devices. To be perfectly honest, Chuck Norris: Bring On The Pain continues in that trend, turning the worn jokes concerning our favorite Texas Ranger into a pretty entertaining game.Over at the official site, Gameloft gives some insight as to what you are in for: "Step into the boots of America’s toughest man in the first Chuck Norris game available for your iPhone and iPod touch. A brilliantly outlandish scenario sets you, Chuck Norris, in the Cambodian jungle to release prisoners of war held hostage by a rogue army of Communist soldiers. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of December 2009 - 12:40 AM ]
EA announces today Dead Space 2... again.... formally this time....  That's right your favorite silent hero Isaac Clarke is making a comeback. Although certain people who will remain nameless *cough* Glenn Schofield *cough* have already mentioned back in October that Dead Space would be getting a sequel, it seems Visceral Games wanted an actual press release, just to make it all official and fancy.Visceral Games (Previously known as EA Redwood Shores) have much to say about the new title:“We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. Read More...

An Electrifying Deal: inFamous' Price Cut
by Kevin [ Sunday, 6th of December 2009 - 03:29 AM ]
For those who have no idea, inFamous was a title released this past spring for the Playstation 3. It was a sandbox game that dropped you in the middle of a war torn city on the verge of social collapse while leading you into an overarching mystery that dealt with the origin on your character, Cole. The game did pretty darn well for Sucker Punch and Sony, selling over a million copies to date. And what better way to celebrate that milestone than by marking down the game for the unitiated!Well, Playstation mentioned that the title is now going for $39. Read More...

A Whole New Medal of Honor
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 2nd of December 2009 - 09:02 PM ]
Are you ready for another Medal of Honor game? Well it has been a while since we have seen action in the Medal of Honor universe. What if I told you that this Medal of Honor won’t take place in World War II, but instead it takes place in modern era?  Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that in 2010 an all-new Medal of Honor will introduce the Tier 1 Operator, a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. EA has been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community since the earliest stages of development to create the most authentic modern war experience. Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor had this to say, “When we first set out to reinvent Medal of Honor, we wanted to stay true to its roots of authenticity and respect for the soldier, but bring it into today’s war. Mass We Pray is the 6th circle of Hell
by Corey Dockendorf [ Sunday, 22nd of November 2009 - 03:30 AM ]
Dante's Inferno has been this year's king of the publicity stunts. If you've been keeping up with gaming news this year, you would have seen Christians petitioning Dante's Inferno at E3, EA offering a "night of sin with 2 hot girls" during Comic-Con 09, and finally there was that little business of $200 being sent to game reviewers in skeleton covered boxes. Well Dante's Inferno is at it again this time with a website that would scare the life out of any gamer. Mass We Pray is the latest edition to the Dante's Inferno marketing campaign: A family shouldn’t have to wait until Sunday to worship the Lord. Read More...
