Review — Hand Of Fate
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of March 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Hand Of Fate. Is this a sleeper hit that you need to try or just another game to throw aside? Here's Our Video Review Have you heard of Hand Of Fate from Defiant Development? Maybe you have and maybe you haven't but it is an interesting take on quite a few different video game genres and physical card games and RPGs. Think something along the lines of Magic: The Gathering meets a Tarot deck with a bit of a Dungeons & Dragons flare mixed in. It sounds a bit odd from that description; it did to me too, but is it worth your time and attention? Read More...

It's Time To See What The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Is All About
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of August 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
A new bit of gameplay for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter has been released showing off some of the core mechanics and story of the game When I first heard about The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter I kind of let it fall a bit to the side of the metaphoric video game road. I didn't disregard the game completely but with the little description I was given it just wasn't something that caught my eye and sucked me in. That was at least until we got some new gameplay footage for The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter and got to fully see what we will be doing on our PCs and PS4s in the coming months. Sooner on the PC but that is a whole other discussion. Read More...

Review: Skylanders: Swap Force
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of October 2013 - 05:44 PM ]
It's time for the third installment of the Skylander franchise with Skylanders Swap Force. With it comes a new story, new levels, and new toys to be collected and used. Not to mention that these new toys also have a new mechanic both in the real world and in the game world. That being the ability to trade half of one toy with another and mix and match their powers and look. This is my first foray into the Skylanders franchise so let's see how well it went and if it is worth your time and money to invest in the franchise at this point in the game. The Story Kaos, the main villain who should just really be Invader Zim, is up to his evil plans again. Read More...

PAX East Interview: WildStar
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 27th of March 2013 - 08:59 PM ]
Last week I had the pleasure of snagging WildStar's Senior 3D Artist, Stephan Williams, for an interview and demo of Carbine Studio's and NC Soft's upcoming MMORPG. Although he was not able to answer every question we sure hounded him for a solid twenty minutes or so. I was joined with two special guests, TJ Jensen and Erik Gmitter. Together we were blown away by the amazing graphics, animations, and features that they had to show off in the PAX East demo. The story behind WildStar is thus; the home world of the long lost Eldan civilization has just been rediscovered and everyone in the galaxy is racing to find out its secrets. Read More...

Review: Drinking Quest
by Fred Buell [ Friday, 21st of September 2012 - 11:46 PM ]
Drinking Quest is a game type that is not typically reviewed here, but it's one that definitely fits our gamer requirement and I think it's time we bring in the table-top gamers and video gamers into one niche. With that out of the way, Drinking Quest is a game that seamlessly blends your traditional table-top RPG and drinking games inside of a card game with various subtle references to pop culture from over the years. You can choose one of four characters each with various stats, weapon proficiencies, and a special ability card. There are four "quests" to a game and the hero with the most XP wins the game. Review: Twisted Metal
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of February 2012 - 06:01 PM ]
So it has been quite some time since most of the fans of Twisted Metal have received a sequel, reboot or whatever to the franchise. That last title coming out almost four years ago on the PS2 so it was about time to bring one Sony's biggest, and in my opinion one of the best, to the next gen hardware. This is just what they did. So how did this franchise hold up and is it worth picking up? Read More...

Diablo 3 Announces The Caravan
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 18th of August 2010 - 08:39 PM ]
Diablo III, just the title sends a rush of excitement through players all over the world. Today at Gamescom the Blizzard team announced a new feature they are calling the "Caravan". What is the caravan? Well basically it's taking a group of skilled craftsmen with you where ever you go. Rather than going back to a town you will have a living breathing camp that follows you from location to location giving you round the clock access to NPC's, quest givers and artisans. Artisans will be your crafters, from blacksmiths to jewel crafters, and you will add these artisans to your Caravan as you travel the world, finding them through the main quest line. You will be working on gaining each artisan's loyalty by completing quest lines for each artisan while completing the main quest. Read More...

Do You Have What It Takes To Stop The Oil Spill?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 2nd of July 2010 - 03:41 PM ]
Haven't heard enough about the BP oil spill yet? Think you could handle it better? Well break out your controller and give it a shot. A new title called Crisis in the Gulf is available on XBox Live, and lets you take command of the situation and figure out a way to plug the oil spill. Of course this game is based around a "DP" oil leak and not actually THE BP oil leak. That's just a silly coincidence, right? Super Boise Games developed the title in an attempt to make light of a very sensitive subject in current events. Read More...

Big Daddy Got Wood!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Ever been so obsessed with a game or character that you needed to draw them or have it everywhere? Myself, I have anime, Super Sentai stuff on my PC, PSP Go, toys (or in Mike's case, dolls), etc. Well this Japanese man takes things to a whole new level as he takes the time to carve out a nearly life size wooden statue of Big Daddy from BioShock. In this nearly ten minute video, you will see how much detail this Japanese Jason took to create Big Daddy. I could not imagine how long it probably took him to finish the project, but needless to say it is worth a watch. Read More...

Let The Carnage Rain In MUA2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 10th of October 2009 - 03:33 PM ]
While just under a month out, Activision is already thinking about keeping people playing their new action rpg, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Maybe you've heard of it, maybe not. My bet is that you have. But that isn't what this article is about here, at least not totally. This is about the fact they are adding in one of the best characters to join the good fight. That character is Carnage. That's right! Read More...

Review: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of September 2009 - 08:33 PM ]
The Civil War saga in the Marvel universe has been one of the best stories to grace comic books in quite some time. It's a great story that is an allegorical commentary in the wake of 9/11 and The Patriot Act. In the storyline, a Superhuman, Nitro, goes nuclear in Stamford, Connecticut, killing hundreds during a reality TV show. A TV show that was like COPS but following the New Warriors. Once this happens, the US public demands that Superhumans answer for their actions and the Superhuman Registration Act is put in place forcing heroes to come out and show who they are. Read More...

Guitar Hero 5: The Obscure
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of July 2009 - 03:45 PM ]
First 24 Tracks For Guitar Hero 5 Maybe it's just me and not being totally up on my current music or even my older music, but to me it seems that Activision and Vicarious Visions are going with some of the more obscure songs from artists to drive players to the game. Some of the songs just announced for Guitar Hero 5 just don't ring a bell. Well actually quite a few of them don't. Artists I'm good with, but the selected songs just don't pop to mind. Read More...

FEAR 2 Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 17th of February 2009 - 02:28 AM ]
What's scarier than a little 7 year old girl just absolutely tearing people apart? Nothing, that's what. FEAR 2, the true sequel to FEAR, comes to us from Monolith and is hands down one of the scariest games ever. Dead Space, Silent Hill, and Condemned are given a run for their money with Alma, the girl previously mentioned. The game starts out about 30 minutes prior to the ending of the first game and puts you in the shoes of Sgt. Michael Becket, a Delta Force member who was mentioned in the first game as apart of a team assigned to bring Genevieve Aristide and put her into protective custody, which is the first mission of the game.
