E3 2013 Impression: Murdered: Soul Suspect

If there was one title I was overly excited to check out at E3 this year it was Murdered: Soul Suspect. Just the basic announcement by its self gave quite a few reasons why it could be an amazing new IP, but I got to actually sit down and check out a bit more of the game than has been shown. Here's a bit of what I am sure we will all be able to see here in the not too distant future. As has been mentioned in the announcement, we get to play as Ronan O'Connor who used to be an investigator in Salem, Massachusetts with a shady past. In what seems like an attempt to not force an exact belief structure, Ronan gets dropped in The Dusk (Ghost realm) that is a bridge between the land of the living and whatever is the "next. The Announcement We've All Been Waiting For: Kingdom Hearts III

It's been ten years since we first met Sora in Kingdom Hearts and watched him team up with Donald and Goofy on a quest to find King Mickey and ultimately save the various worlds in the Disney universe from the clutches of the Heartless. Through the next nine games to be released we have watched Sora and company grow up while facing new foes and making new friends along the way. As well as learning of the history of the Kingdom Hearts universe and everyone in it. On June 10th, 2013, during Sony's E3 Press Conference, a teaser for Kingdom Hearts III was shown with the words "In Development" displaying after it ended. Read More...

Microsoft E3 Recap

Microsoft gave us games. Lots and lots of games. So many games in fact that my head is spinning. So lets do a quick recap of what happened. Well first, and mostly, there were games being shown. Games, games, and more games. Here is a short list and features of the 13 games we were promised. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain A truly open world experience Parcially takes place in Afghanistan and looks like it might also take place in Africa Real time weather effects Realistic passage of time Vehicles, tons and tons of vehicles: Jeeps, Tanks, Trucks, Cars and most likely mainy more Deeper stealth action (Dynamic dodging, crawling, etc.) Dynamic close quarters combat. Yet Another Live Action/CGI Trailer... This Time For Thief

Here we go. A new trailer for Thief. Let's see what Square Enix and Eidos have up their sleeves for us in the new game. Hopefully it is some amazing game play or an awesome CGI story type affair to let us know where Thief is going to take us this go around. Watch The Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access Livestream Right Here

So just as Konami did earlier, Activision is hosting a PrE3 event. The only difference is that this 30 minute event is all about one title, Call Of Duty: Ghosts. It starts at 11am PST on the 9th, A.K.A. today. Unless you are reading this in the future then we'll just go with June 9th. Either way you should be able to see it below, even if you are viewing from the future. What are they going to cover? The E3 Daylight Trailer Is Just As Cryptic As The Game

Back during PAX we got a little bit of hands-on with Daylight and the developers were a bit close lipped about some of the specifics even while we were playing the demo. As you move through an abandoned hospital with but your phone for light and direction you encounter cryptic things about the environment that we had to piece together to continue. A nice little feature that isn't all that common in games today and with the below E3 trailer it looks like it is going to move into their PR for the game as well. Is Dying Light A Capture The Flag/Parkour/Zombie Game?

Talk about another E3 trailer that is all CGI and no game play. A new trailer for Dying Light has just been released into the wild and it surprisingly shows no game play despite the fact that it will be on deck at the convention this year. What is interesting to note though is that even though there is no game play some of the events could point toward other aspects of the game than "survive the zombie uprising." Here's The Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Trailer Outside Of The PrE3 Event

Yesterday we got a look at what Konami and its developers are bringing to E3. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 being one of the larger titles talked about and shown off. Amongst all the PR hype and a dumb looking Mega64 parody we got a nice 6 minute trailer showing the game in action. Knowing what we gamers want it would seem that Konami has clipped the trailer out and supplied it for all of our viewing pleasure. Here it is without all the other BS around it. It's Not Versus XIII, But We Have A New Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Trailer

Check Out The Insane Wolfenstein: The New Order E3 Trailer Right Now

By now we all know the premise behind Wolfenstein: The New Order. The Nazis got the bomb first and ended up winning WWII because of it and William "B.J." Blazkowicz, AKA you, are given the orders to try and take down the Nazi powers that be. Standard affair if I do say so myself outside of the super tech that the Nazis have at their disposal. Wouldn't it be fun to step away from that "standard affair" and have a look at what could have been if this was true history? Miss The Konami PrE3 2013 Show? We Have It Here For You

Even though we are still days out from E3 week, Konami has taken it upon themselves to "go first" with the showcase of what they have coming in the next year. This isn't anything new for Konami and will probably stay the same for the coming years. The entire "event" went live at 10 am PST and as of this posting just about ended, but we have it in its entirety in case the real world had you pulled away from you computers. PAX East Panel: Red5 Studios

This past PAX East 2013 I was lucky enough to be seated in a room with several other members of the press and general attendees to hear about all things Red5. Let's first talk about Red5's Firefall. I first got to play and look at Firefall at last year's PAX East. The game is still in beta and being constantly worked on and taking serious looks at what the fans want in the game. Right off the bat of this presser was informative and entertaining. They have moved away from the previous 'Tier' and 'Level' based system and instead opted for a gear based system. Read More...

PAX East Hands On: Swimsanity

One of the last titles I got to see at PAX East was an incredible amount fun and I'm not just saying that because I got to beat my friends down in it. Swimsanity was one of my favorite titles that I got to play at PAX East. The best part is it's not even finished yet. I got to speak with the whole team of Decoy Games, a new indie developer company that is responsible for the amazing Swimsanity and they confirmed that there will be many more features and maps besides what's been showcased at PAX East. Decoy Games is an independent gaming company started by two brothers, Ahmed and Khalil Abdullah. After exploring their passion for gaming, and finding they had an ability to create games, they began to build what they call team Decoy. Read More...

PAX East Interview: WildStar

Last week I had the pleasure of snagging WildStar's Senior 3D Artist, Stephan Williams, for an interview and demo of Carbine Studio's and NC Soft's upcoming MMORPG. Although he was not able to answer every question we sure hounded him for a solid twenty minutes or so. I was joined with two special guests, TJ Jensen and Erik Gmitter. Together we were blown away by the amazing graphics, animations, and features that they had to show off in the PAX East demo. The story behind WildStar is thus; the home world of the long lost Eldan civilization has just been rediscovered and everyone in the galaxy is racing to find out its secrets. Read More...
