Revealing The Secrets Of The Secret World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 24th of March 2010 - 03:15 PM ]
In the deep dark back rooms of GDC 2010, Funcom brought forth a new look at their up and coming modern world MMO The Secret World. You needed to know the secret path, the secret hand shake, and secret credentials to get in to see it. Or just be there and made an appointment to go and check out what Funcom had to show. My version would have been much cooler, you have to admit. But for those of you who didn't get to go through my made up scenario? Read More...

Another South Park Song To Hit Rock Band
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of March 2010 - 01:41 AM ]
While it is not Shitty Shitty Fag Fag or Blame Canada or even Uncle Fucker, it is one of the most amazing remixes and product placements in South Park in almost forever. I'm talking a little ditty that was featured with "Rock Band" during the episode of Whale Whores. Yea, that's right. Joining Timmy and The Lords Of The Underworld, artist and song title, is Eric Cartman's perfect rendition of Poker Face. A song that when I hear it gets stuck in my head for days. The Cartman version at least. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 10th of March 2010 - 10:30 PM ]
38 Studio's just announced that it has signed an agreement with Electronic Arts to publish their first title, which is not their MMO. 38 Studios, LLC is the enterprise of Curt Schilling (World Series MVP) and the creative minds of R.A. No Shankn' way!! A New Trailer!!
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 10th of March 2010 - 05:56 PM ]
The last time we heard anything about Shank was at PAX in Seattle, Washington where I claimed it to be the best game I played at PAX. No new news of any sorts has come out about who will partner with Klei Entertainment to bring this game to see the time of day. As reported a few days ago at they have partnered up with EA Partners to bring Shank to XBox Live, PlayStation Network and PC. Now at GDC, Shank has released a new trailer for everyone to enjoy. Sneaking You Some Shots Of Lara Croft
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 10th of March 2010 - 03:59 PM ]
Looks like Lara is no longer raiding tombs, at least in the title form of things. As can be seen in the latest in the Lara Croft stories, Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light. Which is much better than other titles it could have been like Lara Croft And The Space Aliens That Crashed And Died On Earth And She Has To Take Her Son On An Adventure With Monkey. Not that catchy I know. But title is not the point here for this digitally distibuted game slated for this summer. Read More...

Why Is Kratos Bringing Down The Gods In God Of War III?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 08:06 PM ]
With only one week from today (3/9/10) until the launching of God of War III closing in quickly, that doesn't give a lot of time if you decide to play through the story of the previous games again, whether you are a veteran - such as myself - or are new to the franchise. That is, unless you're willing to grind through it all in a weekend like I most likely will.  Unfortunately, for those of you picking up the God of War Collection now for the first time, it will take you a bit longer than one short weekend to hammer through. Thankfully, Sony and Santa Monica Studios know this. Read More...

Scream! Finally, Some New Castlevania Screen Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of March 2010 - 03:09 PM ]
Almost a year after its announcement at E3 '09, we finally get to see what Hideo Kojima has been doing to one of gaming's iconic franchises, Castlevania. He is playing around with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in a way that I am still kind of on the fence about. At least I write that based off the screen shots below and renders for the Kojima's Castlevania. Some look amazing, while others look like they were originally slated to be place-holder assets that got mixed into the screen shot bin. Look at the renders for the spiders, werewolves, and goblins (I guess? Read More...

Steam Coming To Mac?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 04:48 PM ]
With the Game Developers Conference just a short ways away, and Valve revving everyone up for their "Big Announcement," little has been left to the imagination about what this announcement could be. Images have been surfacing from multiple sites who had received images displaying Valve characters in very "Apple like" commercials. I have attached some of the images for your viewing pleasure. A very cool 1984 throwback featuring Alyx from Half-life 2 (via Macworld) Gordon freeman rocking the Apple look (via Macrumors) Check out the rest from MacNN, Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Eurogamer The folks over at the Steam community forums have been data mining the latest client software Beta release and have stumbled upon graphic images for Mac buttons, an osx. Bragging OnLive With Clips
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 31st of March 2009 - 05:47 PM ]
Overview Of OnLive If you have been paying attention to anything that has come out of this year's GDC, or at least following the Total Meltdown Podcast, you most likely heard some bit on the new service called OnLive that is being worked on. Some say it is the future of digital downloading, and others are skeptical about this new system that has been proposed. Which of course is why I went out to ask a few things from the people behind this service to get a few answers and information to give out. For those of you who have no clue what OnLive is, here is a an overview of it and in simpler terms for everyone. Read More...

R.U.S.E. Exclusive Trailer (via gamespot) I don’t care if they are trying to present what the game’s premise is. What I want.. is a tabletop game that actually plays LIKE THIS. In any event, it is an upcoming RTS video game developed by Eugen Systems and published by Ubisoft (scheduled to be released in 2009 for the 360, PS3, and PC.  It's a strategy game involving the players to use decoys to trick their enemies into traps. The release from the community site says, "R. Public Leaking At GDC 2009
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of March 2009 - 05:09 PM ]
Videos Leaked From GDC 2009 While the Game Developers Conference that just took place in San Francisco just last week isn't the largest place for crazy game announcements and substantial news, at least it wasn't my impression, there are always a few little things that get shown off or spoken about while there. A lot of it is also "off the record" type stuff that gets shown and brought up. Or even simpler, a please do not record and show off anything you see in this conference or booth. Read More...

Google (not) to buy Valve.
by Andy [ Wednesday, 17th of September 2008 - 04:45 PM ]
Update: Accoring to MTV Multiplayer, Doug Lombardi says it's a "complete fabrication"Yesterday at the GDC, our very own Clov3r got the chance to talk with the developers over at the Valve booth and got confirmation that it is infact a fabrication. The Valve developers joked around with the idea that someone could say such a thing, not seeming to mind the idea much and was "the talk of the office" yesterday morning- - - Original article:In a very interesting turn of events, it seems that Google is looking at Valve. Why you may ask? It really is quite simple, Valve has an amazing Content Distribution System, aka Steam. Read More...

GDC 2008 Interview: Audiosurf
by Aaron BlueWolf72 Molloy [ Monday, 25th of February 2008 - 09:45 PM ]
At GDC 2008 I was able to interview Dylan Fitterer about his latest title Audiosurf Dylan Fitterer is the creator of the excellent Audiosurf, a musical racing game that turns any mp3 track into a loop-the-loop high-speed course. It is safe to say you can't get PWNED by other players but I still give this awesome game a A+ for the concept and idea alone. In fact if you want to play this awesome game I have 4 keys to give away if you have Steam. Just send me a private message via PWNED.
