by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of April 2014 - 09:00 PM ]

Amazon has revealed their new Fire TV today and with that Amazon Game Studios has put out a 'sneak peek' at the games that we will soon be able to play on those Kindle Fires and Fire TVs. Review: Nihilumbra
by Kenton Winkfield [ Sunday, 12th of January 2014 - 07:53 PM ]
We sit down and review Nihilumbra. How does this quirky 2D side-scroller handle? As much as i enjoy a game with many difficult maneuvers and complex button combinations to master, a simple game is always preferred after a long day. But simple gameplay can make it difficult for a game to hold my attention, and keep me from getting bored. The people at BeautiFun Games have created the perfect game to fill that position. BeautiFun Games is a 7-person indie development company located in a city just outside of Barcelona, Spain. Read More...

Review: The Harvest
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 19th of December 2013 - 06:27 PM ]
Review Of The Harvest By South African Indie Developers Luma Arcade Are you busy and looking for a game to play that doesn't require all your attention? Is solitaire not intensive enough to fill that free time? Do you not have a mouse readily available to play most games and are left with only one free hand and a trackpad? Well that sucks, but maybe you'll want to look into The Harvest. The Harvest is a top-down action RPG set in the future from South African Developers, Luma Arcade. Read More...

Looks Like The PlayStation App Should Be Out Alongside The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of October 2013 - 09:27 PM ]
A little over two years ago Sony announced a mobile application for users to be able to check all the ins and outs of their PS3. It was only released in the European market to my knowledge. I've looked around and have yet to find anything official in the North American market, but that's not the point. In the coming month when we get the PlayStation 4, we can also look out for a similar and better mobile application to play with in addition to the console. Everyone rejoice? Read More...

Review: Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 22nd of August 2013 - 10:20 PM ]
Back in April, I wrote an article showcasing what I had seen of Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 during my interview at PAX East. I had been waiting for the game to be released so I could hop into it and get my first look at the new Magic The Gathering 2014 Core Set expansion since, as always, I knew that all MTG players will get their first look and get to play with the cards first in DOTP. I was also excited to see what the new game type would be, since the last two games introduced Archenemy and Planeschase. When the day Magic The Gathering: Duels of The Planeswalkers 2014 released, I immediately lost myself in the game. Read More...

PAX East: First Look: Magic: Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2014
by Kenton Winkfield [ Monday, 22nd of April 2013 - 10:00 PM ]
I was insanely excited to go to the Wizards of the Coast Booth at PAX East this year. Last year I skipped it because I thought they were only showing off expansions for Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. I learned shortly after that they were actually showing off alpha stages of Magic: DOTP 2013. I was not going to make that mistake again this year. I did by a bag last year from their booth thought, and this year I bought a shirt. Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 10th of August 2011 - 05:17 PM ]
Mobile gaming has come a long way in terms of game design and depth. One of the leading developers in this area is Kairosoft. Their first big hit, Game Dev Story, turned a lot of heads, gaining critical acclaim for their simulation of running a video game development studio. Their latest release on the Android platform is Grand Prix Story – a simulation of running an automobile racing team. Start your smart phones! You start out by choosing your racing team’s name. Review: The AGlove, It's So Rad
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of March 2011 - 10:21 PM ]
Recently I just got back from vacation in Utah where I took on their cold weather, snow and a Park City Bobsled Run; all in the same day. As I was waiting for one of my buddies to finish their run, I thought I would play a little Gun Bros on my android phone. Now picture this. I'm on a mountain, in the freezing cold, standing in snow and about to take out my TOUCH-SCREEN phone and play a game. Impossible, I know. Normally I would desperately try to get enough heat to the tips of my fingers to actually use the touch screen just to unlock the stupid thing. Read More...

Sony Now Has An App For That
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of January 2011 - 07:25 PM ]
SCEE has finally let loose the app they announced back in December that will allow PlayStation fans to do pretty much what XBox fans have been doing for a long while now. That is access all their stats, news and talk about all things on their chosen console. Man that took a while to get out there. I totally can't wait to use it to keep up on my friends and trophies. Oh wait… I can't… It is only for people with European accounts. Anyone can download the app to their iPhone/iPod or Android phones right now, although work arounds are needed if you live outside of Europe. Read More...

OnLive Now Giving Us Another Way To Be Voyeurs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 10th of December 2010 - 09:47 PM ]
Raise your hand if you are a glutton for pain and torment. Also if you are a fan of being teased by others playing games while you are stuck somewhere you can't. I know my hand is staying down. But there is good news for you out there that are a fan of strip clubs and being teased. Just released on the iPad and Android Tablet is a way live spectate of any of the OnLive game sessions from around the world. That way of course being a new mobile app that is ready for download and does not, I repeat does not, require jail breaking to run the full-featured Flash, Silverlight and Windows 7 application. Just took Cloud computing to get Flash on an Apple product it seems. Read More...

Google's G1 Android Phone...
by Taylor Rose [ Thursday, 16th of October 2008 - 03:44 PM ]
I know many of Pwned.com's members are, like me, big supporters of Google. I've been highly anticipating the Google G1 Android Phone, and it has finally been announced that the phone will be available in stores on October 22, 2008. What is Android, you might ask? Android is a software platform and operating system that Google developed for mobile devices. Based off of the Linux kernel, it also allows developers to code in a Java-esque syntax: however, it does not provide the full-class libraries/APIS that come with the Java SE or Me, but rather implements the Apache Harmony Java.  Regardless of its seemingly limited functionality, Paul Reddick, CEO of Handmark (a developer of mobile media apps and services for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and other OSs) thinks Android will "help breed the simple and elegant programs consumers crave".
